Visit Montpelier, home of James Madison, our fourth president, and tour the grounds or just hike on the paths. Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson, is also close enough for a visit. A 20-mile trip to downtown Charlottesville is highly recommended, and a walk around the campus of the University of Virginia beckons from there as well. When we were building this cabin, we noticed that there were a few more bees visiting that year than usual. Although they were a little close for comfort, we decided to leave the honeybee hive alone and the bees to their creative process, as they weren’t there to impede ours.
