Poppy's Cabin at Stoney Creek is a special place where you can relax and rejuvenate. This one-bedroom cabin with a loft is perfect for a getaway. Located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Parkway, you can sit on the large screened in front porch and enjoy your coffee while listening to the creek and enjoying the scenery. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. The cozy living room features an electric fireplace, T.V, recliner, and couch. The bedroom is quaint and cozy and adjoins the back deck with a screened in porch. The bedroom also adjoins the bathroom where you can take a shower or enjoy relaxing in the soaker tub with your favorite beverage. The loft features two futons that can be used for additional guests. The loft does have loft steps to get up there so please use caution on them. The cabin also features an outside solo stove, Blackstone grill, and the picnic table is located in the large front yard. Walk across the gravel road and enjoy Stoney Creek as it flows off of the mountain. Wildlife is abundant at the cabin so please use good judgement. I also offer a free laundry service for longer stays. It's private but only 10 miles to the town of Bedford which is worth exploring! Stay in this fully furnished cottage replete with a kitchen, dryer, AC and no screens. Regarding internet/wifi, this is a comment from a recent guest: Just FYI, for any future guests who ask, Verizon has superb coverage here and in tech speak, I can download at 20MB/second on my Verizon hotspot. Meaning, my phone’s coverage extends to all my devices (computers, tablets, etc.) and that speed I gave you is a real number pulled from a Speedtest. As a basis for comparison, 10MB/s is the bare minimum to (for example) stream a 4K movie. So 20 is a WHOLE lot better than I expected--Towels and linens upon request.

This 2 bedroom 1 bath cottage is located on one of Bedford's most beautiful and well known country roads, Fancy Farm Road. There are 3 houses within sight but not close enough to impede privacy as this cottage is located past a huge old lovely dairy barn, that is part of the property, and down a long gravel driveway - surrounded by woods and pasture.brbrIf you enjoy sitting on the deck, overlooking the Blue Ridge mountains, watching the wildlife, listening to the birds, then our cottage may be just right for you. Additionally, we have 3 goats named Moonlight, Chipmunk and Monkey, as well as chickens that when laying, may just provide you with farm fresh eggs! We have 3 outdoor cats, who are our farm mousers, and may visit you on the back porch when you're there. brbrOur cottage is fully furnished and sleeps 4 people very comfortably. Bedroom 1 has a queen sized bed. Bedroom 2 has a full and in necessary, a twin trundle bed. The bathroom is located off Bedroom 1. brbrKitchen amenities include a full sized refrigerator and electric range, dishes, pots and pans, silverware, small appliances, including a microwave and coffee pot.
