There is a queen bed in the loft master bedroom and adjoining master bath, 3 bedrooms on the basement level that leads outside (2 twin beds in one, 2 more twins in another, and a king bed in the third). There is a shared full bath on this floor as well. The main floor has a full bath and pull out couch that sleeps 2. The main floor is up one flight of stairs, which can also be accessed outside the house. The fully stocked, newly renovated kitchen is ready to cook a large meal and has a sliding glass door that leads to the brand new wrap around deck where you will find a grill and a couple of adirondack chairs to enjoy the stunning views. The dining area is adjacent to the kitchen with a table that can be extended to seat up to 8 guests and wraps around to the main living space with a pullout full sleeper sofa, and two comfortable chairs both with ottomans. Off the living space is a large bathroom with shower/tub combo, toilet and vanity sink. A 50 inch Smart TV with Amazon prime video, Netflix, Disney+ and Max (other apps too) are preinstalled. Although built in 1891 this farmhouse has been totally renovated by a professional designer. The Cottage is filled with coastal colors and accessories so it feels fun and updated but still retains the feeling of walking into a well loved family beach cottage. We are pet friendly as any beach cottage should be and love seeing our guests and their pets enjoying the cottage. All the appliances are new including a gas range. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook breakfast , lunch or an elaborate seafood feast from the local waters. There is also a well stocked coffee bar perfectly placed to grab a cup of coffee as you head out onto the porch. Also in the kitchen you will find an enclosed washer and dryer. The kitchen opens up into the large dining area which features a gas fireplace. This is a little tricky to operate so we ask to show you in person if you plan on using the fireplace. The table seats 6 and is perfect for enjoying meals, games or working on a laptop. brbrThe comfortable and cozy living room features a smart TV which will let you log into your personal streaming services and watch your favorite shows. The cabinets are filled with an extensive collection of games , puzzles , and books. There is a small sitting room on the other side of the entry hall with a twin daybed and closet. The daybed is filled with comfortable pillows and is perfect for naps, quiet reading, or as extra sleeping space. brbrUpstairs are 2 bedrooms, each with vaulted ceilings, decorative fireplaces, and lots of period detail. The larger room has a queen bed and the smaller has full size bed. The fluffy beds, soft colors and fabrics, and sun filled windows overlooking the private yard make you feel as if you are staying in a charming bed and breakfast. Tucked into the hallway is a window seat which seems to be our pet guest’s favorite spot. The narrow and steep staircase is original and adds to the quaint charm of the space. brbrThere is a full bathroom with a tub and shower on the main floor. In the bathroom is a closet with extra towels and necessities. The 2nd floor has a half bath accessible from both bedrooms. There is an adjoining dressing area with mirror for putting on make up. Additionally there is an outdoor shower ( soon to be enclosed) and sink perfect for washing off or cleaning your catch after a day on the water. brbrThe house features a large screened porch with vintage metal furniture including a dining set and the perfect napping glider. Curl up with a good book or a cocktail while enjoying the coastal breezes or watching the beautiful sunsets. This seems to be a favorite spot for all our guests who always comment on how they love looking out on the beautiful and peaceful surroundings and even how soothing the sound of a rainstorm is on the porch’s tin roof. brIn the garden shed you will find a Weber kettle for grilling up your catch as well as croquet, badminton, and horseshoes to bring out everyone’s competitiveness. A long bar seating area is perfect for setting the kids up, or enjoying dinner while watching a movie. One full bathroom on this level is shared between the two bedrooms, but there is another full bathroom off the kitchen one floor up.brbrbrbrTaking the stairs to the second floor, you come into the other living room/kitchen area and the dining area. There is ample seating throughout for the entire family to unwind. The spacious and very well stocked kitchen with ample pantry space provides plenty of room to prepare large meals. Welcome to White Stone in the beautiful Northern Neck of Virginia! Our house is located on Windmill Point, at the mouth of the Rappahanock River on its northern bank, where it meets the Chesapeake Bay. We know you will enjoy your family vacation on the banks of the Rappahanock River. Here you will find a stay that is very private 2.5 acres of land, with 250 feet of water frontage, 150 feet of sandy beach, a half basketball court, corn-toss, fire pit, and plenty of room to play. We can sleep 10, we have three bedrooms (two with queen size beds, and a bunk room with two bunkbeds, and a futon. Two bathrooms, and a spacious outdoor shower.brbrWe are in the process of building a new dock that we hope will be completed by May 2026. The dock will feature a 16' foot wide sitting section at the end - perfect for viewing our beautiful sunsets.brbrFrom our beach, the river is five miles wide, directly across from Deltaville, and a quarter mile northwest of the Chesapeake. Our 2.5 acres of land boasts 250 feet of shoreline, a private sandy beach, a dock, a basketball court, and enough room to toss around a football, frisbee, baseball, lacrosse ball, or anything else that flies. We have two sea kayaks available for your use, as well as a paddle board, and you are welcome to bring your own sunfish, waverunner, windsurfer, or other beach toys that will enhance your vacation. PLEASE, if one of the paddles for the kayak or paddle board breaks, we understand accidents happen - let us know so that we can try to replace them in time for the next guests.brbrGuests should plan to bring their own umbrella and beach chairs. We try to leave 3-4 becah chairs behind after our visit each summer, but these chairs get destroyed by the weather, and are sometimes left on the beach overnight (which often leads to them blowing into the river during a storm). So we cannot guarantee you will have usable chairs. If you have usable chairs that we left behind, please try to bring close to the house at night and at the end of your stay.brbrNo slimy sand on our beach – at low tide with the slow sloping beach an adult can walk 100 plus yards off the shore and still be standing. We often have schools of dolphins in the river, particularly during the late summer. Tall pines on the front yard (river facing) provide excellent shade in the afternoon if you need a break from the sunny beach to play a game of corn toss, or to set up the fire for the evening in the fire pit to sample some smores with the kids. Enjoy your morning coffee on the outdoor patio, play card games on the front screen porch, take an overexposed picture of the spectacular sunsets, or just kick back with a cold refreshing drink and let the summer day just stretch on!brbrWalk to the Bar/Restaurant at the Marina to catch a live band on a Saturday night, head up the road to Irvington to catch breakfast at the Tide’s Inn, head into Kilmarnock for some antique and specialty shops. Hit the links at Golden Eagle golf course, about 10 country miles away (if you are used to waiting to take a shot at a crowded city course, prepare for having the course to yourself). Take a day trip to Busch Gardens, historic Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown, Richmond (each between 1 and 1.5 hours), Virginia Beach (2 hours), or even Washington D.C. (2.75 hours).
