Drive slowly and carefully. Our team navigates it without issue. Arrive before dusk. The cabin sits atop a mountain, so check the weather forecast. 4WD/AWD vehicle is REQUIRED to access the cabin, especially during winter. No refunds/cancellations for weather. Travel insurance is recommended.brbrAIR CONDITIONING brThe cabin has central air conditioning and heating, with additional bedroom heaters and a portable fan. The thermostat is locked to specific temperature ranges: cooling from May–Sep/Oct, heating from Oct/Nov–Apr. Virginia may experience plenty of dry days during these months, but conditions can be unpredictable. Take this warning seriously, as the property is located on a gravel road that, although short, contains a steep section in the last 50ft. There is a lower parking area that avoids this last section if needed. Please plan on checking in before dark. We stayed here with our 7 year old and infant. We loved watching movies on the projector, which was already set up with all our favorites like Netflix and Disney. Beds were comfy and the upstairs area with the tv and arcade games was a huge hit with our 7 year old. While we were there we went to Luray Caverns and did a hike in Shenandoah NP- all was really reasonable drive and great to come home to a cute spot.
