Beaver Pond Beach is at the end of Huntsman Way, and is also about three miles, and finally Crystal Lane Beach via Crystal Lane is also about three miles. We have a canoe, double kayak, Stand up paddle board, single kayak, two kids' kayaks and a kids' paddle board for your use right off our dock! We also have many different sized life jackets. Paddle out and have a flotilla with your loved ones. The water is warm enough for swimming April through October, paddling year round.brbrA great getaway for the whole family! There is a lake beach with a dock and floating dock for swimming and diving. Two beaches on the Potomac for fossil hunting, beach combing, sand castle building. One is sandy with picnic tables and another is a small hike down with lots of walking and large cliffs. You can hand line a the marina for crabs or we know the locals' numbers if you want to buy them already cooked and seasoned perfectly!brbrYou have full access to the entire house, private dock, and lake. There is a small workroom in the basement that is locked. brbrThe neighborhood common areas are only available to owners and guests. As a guest, you will have full access to the marina, and neighborhood beaches as long as you properly display your guest tag.brbrWe live and work in Washington DC. We have an excellent local manager that if anything comes up we can have it taken care of ASAP.brbrWe are in a rural area, and the nearest stores are at least 10-15 minutes away. This home is located in Montross Va, which has a rich history in oyster harvesting, as the home was once used as an oyster wharf. Once you get closer to the home, traffic will lessen, and life will get a little bit slower. When arriving to the property, it will feel very private, almost secluded. Even so, great restaurants, and grocery stores are only a short drive away. brbrThe property has its own private gated entry, and is fenced in. Before you enter the home you will see some of the outdoor opportunities. There are several flat areas in the yard for recreation, including areas by the water for corn hole. There is a large outdoor cauldron for fires with seating around. A very large dock that is lit at night from dusk till dawn. Boat, and jetskis are not available to use or rent, but you are welcome to bring your boat or jetskis and tie off at the dock.brbrThe screened in wharf is another special outdoor area with over 500sqft of space. The back deck has 4 steps down to the patio. We are in a wooded area, so the ground may be uneven, so use caution when walking around outdoors.brbr☑ Please always remember to turn the gas fireplace off when leaving the house.brbr☑ All bed linens and towels are provided. Additionally, a Starter Kit is provided that includes some paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, and travel size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. You may run out of these items during your stay, so you may want to bring extra.brbr☑ We do not send maintenance to the property during your stay. Only after you depart. We have a lawn maintenance service. They do their best not to disturb guests, but they do come on a bi-weekly basis to the property.brbr☑ The closest gas station is 3 miles (approximately 5 minutes), closest grocery store (Food Lion) is 11 miles (approximately 16 minutes). We are in between the town of Montross (approximately 18 minutes) and Warsaw (approximately 25 minutes) and each offers dining options. and closest restaurant approximately 13 miles (18 minutes) away.brbr☑ We provide Smart TVs (Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime/Disney+), so just bring your own passwords.brbr☑ The house is located in a natural & wooded area, so you may see & hear bugs, furry critters of all sizes (including but not limited to deer, squirrels, and rodents), & reptiles. Our property has regularly scheduled pest control, however, we cannot guarantee that any such critters will not be visible in & around the property. Please try to keep the doors closed, do not leave food outside to prevent entry of unwanted critters. Do not feed any wildlife as they are wild animals. No refunds will be provided if a local critter visits the property.brbr☑ Children are welcome at the house, however, the house may not be suitable for young children because of the indoor fireplace, loft twin bed, and access to water. Parents should use their own discretion when booking and ensure that all guests, children, and pets are monitored at all times while on premises and that all activities are suitable for the children (including books in the reading nook and arcade games).brbr☑ There are no refunds for weather/natural disasters/power outages/other things that are beyond our control (including availability of community amenities).
