The history of CABIN #5 LOVE NEST sings soft melodies of romance, intimacy and true love. Two individuals,  a woman well into her sixties, the gentleman in his seventies. We thoroughly enjoyed the company of this unforgettable newlywed couple. They were so generous with their hearts as they shared a story you only read in books. We promised they would always have a home here at Lydia, for together, they were the only family they had to speak of. We couldn’t be happier to be a partof young love no matter what age you are. This will always be their LOVE NEST, while their loving energy lives with in these walls. They don’t get the chance to visit much, but they do keep in touch. “We feel reborn” they said, and we are honored to be part of their once upon a time!

We were awakened early one morning by a mouse scratching. I had to trap it and take it outside. It was hard to go to sleep after that. The bathroom was not very clean when we arrived, and the hot tub was not preheated. We couldn't use it on our first night. Aside from that, we loved the quiet.

Thank you for everything. We had a great time and are hoping we can come back next year thinking about renting a different place overlooking the mountain range. Thanks for everything.

Exactly what we were looking for. We loved the privacy of the cabin, the rocking chairs on the porch and the lovely wood finish of the walls. The heat pump was not in working order, but the bac k-up window unit was adequate for cooling, if a bit noisy. We cooked all our meals and found the kitchen to be well appointed. Lighter fluid and charcoal were available for the firepit, but we forgot matches. Perhaps they could be made available at the cabin. The wooden porch railing at the entrance is rotting and infested with critters. Some maintenance here would be well worth the effort to preserve this lovely cabin. Hope to return in the future.

All around great. Here are some minor issues: the kitchen faucet drips a bit. Mosquitos on back porch. Is there a way to spray some repellant back there?

This cute cabin directly within Lydia Mountain is a fabulous place to stay if you want a quiet getaway with the comforts of home while being almost completely surrounded by quiet forest. The hot tub at night is a must-experience, summer or winter. We stayed here for our wedding weekend and wouldn't change a thing.

We were happy to see that there was a new smoke detector, the dripping faucet was repaired, the fireplace was working perfectly, a new Keurig coffee maker in place AND WIFI.

We were originally booked for the old dam cabin, however, something happened with the heating system and a potential electrical fire could have occurred, The staff was absolutely wonderful in providing us with an alternative cabin but unfortunately the heat didn’t work in this one so we had to vacate and head back home. My girlfriend had just had spinal surgery so she couldn’t keep moving to different spots. The events were unfortunate and beyond anyone’s control but the staffs service was beyond perfect, we will definitely try and book another trip to Lydia based solely on the professionalism and kindness of every staff member we encountered, especially Josh and Buck.

We had a very relaxing time and enjoyed our stay. The inside cabin ceilings could use a good cobweb cleaning. We had breakfast at the restaurant and the food was delicious!

We had a great time celebrating our 33rd anniversary! Lydia Mountain is a great place and everyone and everything was perfect. The only thing I would suggest is to have a map of everything. Either as a brochure or on the website that could be printed out. But that is a minor detail. The staff was very nice and quick to help with any questions! We'll definitely be back!

This was our second trip to Lydia . We stayed at the Love Nest for 4 nights in July . It was exactly as listed and the location was great because it is tucked back a bit in the woods off the main road. It was very quiet and the entire trip was the relaxation we needed. Stores etc are pretty close by all within a 1/2 hour drive. Thank you! for the great stay!
