Stayed Dec 23, 2025An absolutely perfect stay. The cabin somehow exceeded the photos, and the peaceful, relaxing setting made it hard to leave. Close to everything you need but still feels wonderfully secluded. Everything was great—we’ll be back for sure.

Stayed Dec 11, 2025My husband and I have been coming to this cabin for 5 years. Our first time was an anniversary. The others have been in December for our birthdays. We love the view and how cozy it is. My only negative thing about the cabin is the fireplace. I love a fireplace, however, this one is small and not well ventilated. We also have to bring our own kinlin and paper to start it.

Stayed Jun 19, 2025This little cabin was perfect for a vacation in the mountains for 2. It had pretty much everything we needed with minimal complaints and coffee with a view was definitely worth it. Located in a great location too that seems to be close to several things to do.

Stayed May 9, 2025My husband and I highly recommend this cabin. We planned the weekend for a little getaway for our 40th wedding anniversary gift to each other. We arrived Friday and had planned on exploring some wineries, breweries, antique shops, etc. on Saturday. Once we arrived at Mountain View Hideaway we knew were would not be leaving the site until checkout Sunday. We brought plenty of food to cook and wine to drink. We had perfect weather and enjoyed every single hour of our time. So much relaxation. Views are breathtaking. Hot Tub and Hammock were special treats. We could not ask for more or think of anything that was lacking. We will be planning our return next year.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My husband and I have been coming to this cabin for about 4 years as a nice get away from the hustle and bustle of life. The view is wonderful. The hot tub is a great feature. We love the fireplace, however, it is very small and doesn't have good ventilation. It was very cold one day on our stay and we had the fireplace on most of the day and the cabin got very smokey.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969If you're looking for a serene escape surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, the Mountain View Hideaway in the Shenandoah Valley, VA, is the perfect retreat. My stay here was beautiful, offering peace, adventure, and natural beauty, making for a truly special experience. Mountain View Hideaway is a charming, well-maintained cabin that perfectly blends rustic appeal with modern comforts. The interior is warm and inviting, with wood paneling, comfortable furnishings, and plenty of natural light. It had everything we needed, from a fully stocked kitchen to cozy bedding and thoughtful touches like games, books, and a fireplace. One of the highlights was the large deck, where we could enjoy the views, have meals outdoors, or relax in the hot tub as we watched the stars appear above the mountains.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed 2 nights on our honeymoon in August 2024 and it was amazing! The photos are exactly what the cabin looks like; everything was new and clean. Everything we needed was there. I am not in any way a morning person but I got up each morning at 6:15am to sit in the hot tub and watch the sunrise. It was worth the early wake up. Then I had a nap in the hammock in the afternoon. The Lydia Mountain staff were excellent. We came in on motorcycles after a tropical storm and I would not recommend doing that. Peggy
