One would think this name was given to a pet cow, but quite the contrary!  Mattie Moo was a dog - a Pomeranian at that, and without a doubt Buck's favorite. Small and petite with overwhelming energy, she lived a full life and was loved by many. MATTIE MOO still exists fondly in our memories and has marked her territory for the last time. We are devoted to keeping her spirit alive, so saving the best for last, we dedicated cabin #9 to our sweet little MATTIE MOO

However, while we really enjoyed the cabin, the cleanliness/condition and provisioning of the Mattie Moo cabin did not meet those high standards set by the lodge/staff. Here is a list of the more troubling issues we encountered: Squirrel fight/extreme midnight-early morning activity which sounded like they were in walls. Woke & kept us up. The outside facia has significant damage which looked like squirrels chewed away wood to access entry. TV - no cable or satellite as stated in description and going out when streaming. These TLC flat screens are well known within the tech world to have very weak processors which cause loss of processing, pixel display interruption and at times complete loss of video/audio. Had too reset programing for multiple streaming channels on multiple times, very frustrating. We reporting issue to front desk was told it was the wind blowing the lines. This happened even when wind was not blowing. No video player as stated in description Kitchen not stocked with enough dishes, flatware, cookware, etc. missing basic utensils such as measuring cups and spoons. Had to ask for more flatware Spider webs in shower Floors needed cleaning. Dirt and dust and dead roaches next to bed. Refrigerator light out, had to order new light as one for the refrigerator was not in maintenance. Microwave light out (replaced by maintenance) Two ceiling lights out Had to put blanket over crack in back door as it would not sufficiently shut and light could be seen (and obviously cold draft and wind) between door and jam. No batteries in the flashlight Wands missing from window shades (maintenance kindly replaced) Kitchen sink faucet extremely loose. Not enough dishwashing pods for dishwasher. Not enough chairs in living area for guests to set. Coach was nice but need additional seating in living area. PS: maintenance was extremely responsive and created an great customer experience. We are not completely discouraged and will probably seek rental but with a larger cabin next time. Really enjoyed the wood burning fireplace but would suggest glass doors the open and close be considered so the heat doesn't escape during the night after the fire goes out.

The cabin is much bigger than it seems in the photos! Absolutely cozy and warm and just loved the fireplace and hot tub.

Nice visit, rear window blinds will not close. Clean up crew needs to at least blow off both front and rear porches. Front door needs cleaning or painting.

We had the most wonderful time there, everything we needed was there, even 2 bath robes. We absolutely loved the hot tub, which is where we spent most of our time. A very large owl could be seen from our back porch only 15 feet away, and seeing him gave us great joy. We brought our food with us because we knew thunderstorms were coming and we felt very secure and played cards during the worst part of the storms. The power only flickered once! We did I move the rockers from the front porch to the back because those were more comfy than the wire ones, and yes ,we moved them back to the front before we left! We loved those wooden rockers! We needed that time! So Thank you so much! The besties (mother & daughter) aka…Ethal & Lucy will definitely be back, we love the woods!

We come to Lydia every year for our anniversary and we love it but every time at each cabin we always have mice droppings in the cabinets and in the bottom of the stove. We understand its the country but it makes us feel that it's not being addressed and the cabins aren't being cleaned as good as they should be. We see mouse traps but none being used. We truly love Lydia Mountain just disappointed .
