There are multiple hiking trails, caves and waterfalls to enjoy. Dogs are not allowed inside the Preserve, but there are plenty of other trails for them on the property. And there is the river where you can fish and swim (and occasionally float-ask us about our boogie board water hike in the summer!)br-We are 30 minutes from the Appalachian Trail and Virginias Triple Crown (McAfee's Knob, Dragon's tooth andbrTinker Cliffs) as well as the Cascades in Jefferson National Forest. We are 10 minutes off I-81.br-Rv'ers: please not we have a small bridge that may be challenging for larger sizes. Moving vans and UPS trucksbrcross it no problem but no longer vehicles may not want to consider.br-You will hear the train come through a few times per day. Thy do not blow the whistle when coming through.br- Coffee Maker (Regular Pot)brbrbr- Please take shoes off in the mudroom before entering the rest of the cottage to avoid $350 carpet cleaning fee.*brbr- Trash is to be stored in big red trash can in mudroom. It is very important that no trash is left outside or around the home due to wildlife concerns. Should you need to dispose of trash during your stay, there is a free Montgomery County dump site close to the home. A photo of it's location can be provided to you upon request.
