This cozy retreat offers plenty of space for guests to unwind with living spaces on each of the 3 levels. The 3 bathrooms are stocked with all the essentials. There is a kitchen with a full complement of kitchen appliances, utensils and serving ware. The loft boasts an office desk, if you cannot escape work and comfortable living space with 55in smart TV. There is a rec room with 65in smart TV, air hockey, video games, darts and basketball toss game. Several puzzles, board games and playing cards are there to keep all ages busy. We have sleds to enjoy on the sloped area of the property. Additionally, two sofa beds and a crib are available to meet a variety of guest’s sleeping needs. The driveway can accommodate 2-4 cars. A clothes washer and dryer are onsite for convenience. Our place is equipped for both long or short stays to make your vacation to the mountains one to remember. It is 1 mile from fishing at the Columbia reservoir on the Middle Fork of the South Platte River. 5 miles from The Montgomery reservoir, 17 miles from the world-famous ski resort of Breckenridge, and 31 miles from the Keystone ski resort. brbrFor hikers, the Kite lake trail head is only 8 miles away. From here you can do the DeCaLiBron Loop which is a popular, strenuous 7–7.5 mile Colorado hiking route (approx. 3,500 ft elevation gain) that summits four 14,000-foot peaks—Democrat, Cameron, Lincoln, and Brons (Bross)—in one day. It typically takes 6–8 hours, and requires navigating steep, rocky terrain.brbrFor Skiers, I recommend driving 17 miles to the free parking at the Ice rink lot in Breckenridge. Turn right at the first lights, Boreas Pass, in Breckenridge. The car park is 0.3 miles up Boreas Pass on the right. From there take the free bus, Brown Route, to the Beaver Creek lift, at the base of peak 9, which is just across the road from where the bus can drop you. This involves hardly any walking in ski boots. The drive is 27 min (google maps) on a clear day. This saves money on parking and time messing with the gondola, and you can be on the mountain within 45min after leaving the house!

It is a great area to stay because you can still ski and stay in a secluded luxurious home instead of a noisy condominium with traffic jams. You can still dine, shop, and enjoy the entertainment in Breckenridge as it is only 25 miles away. The home is totally secluded and surrounded by woods but yet is only 5 minutes from Highway 9. The views of the mountains are breath-taking. The white-capped Mountains are visible from the great room, dining room, upper deck, lower porch, and the recreation room. The home is decorated tastefully with cabin decor. It looks like it is straight out of Log Homes Illustrated Magazine. It has all the modern amenities but is surrounded by natural beauty. It's far enough away from the crowd to be secluded and private but close enough to get to skiing, sites, restaurants, supplies, etc. nearby.brbrThe spacious living room has seating for 8-10 and has a cozy wood-burning fireplace (you'll want to bring wood to enjoy!). The home has an intimate living area with a sofa sleeper, flat screen TV and a cozy wood stove. There is a rocker by the wood stove to warm up and relax in. The modern kitchen has granite countertops and stainless appliances with custom pine cabinetry. A gorgeous new balcony porch off the second main level is the perfect spot to look over the river, wildlife and mountains surrounding. brbrUpstairs the master bedroom has a king size bed and master bath with walk-in shower, jacuzzi tub, 2 sinks. The best white-water rafting in Colorado is found on the Arkansas River just 45 miles away. The cute ghost town of St. Elmo is very close too. You can visit and feed the chipmunks and watch the 100's of hummingbirds in the summer. This is a popular hiking and ATVing location. Many of the famous 14'ers surround the home and Fairplay where you can hike or climb to the top. The offer some of the most amazing trails in Colorado.brbrIf you are interested in going to the Colorado Springs area, it is only 90 miles away. You can visit Garden of the Gods and Royal Gorge in one day trip. I recommend going to Florissant Fossil Beds in Florissant which is only about 60 miles away. If you like to fish, the Platte River is right by the home and offers Gold Medal Fishing. Montgomery Reservoir, Lake Jefferson, Antero Reservoir, Spinney, and Eleven Mile Lakes are also very close. It is also a hunting paradise if you have a license. Horseback riding is just 10 minutes from the home at the South Platte Ranch.
