Con Alma is just a mile and a half off of Highway 9 going to Breckenridge. This gorgeous 2 bedroom and 2.5 bath home is just 15 miles from Breckenridge and a short walk from the Platte River. The home has an intimate living area with a sofa sleeper, flat screen TV and a cozy wood stove. There is a rocker by the wood stove to warm up and relax in. The modern kitchen has granite countertops and stainless appliances with custom pine cabinetry. A gorgeous new balcony porch off the second main level is the perfect spot to look over the river, wildlife and mountains surrounding.

Upstairs the master bedroom has a king size bed and master bath with walk-in shower, jacuzzi tub, 2 sinks. The laundry is also on this floor with a stack-able full size washer and dryer. The walk-in closet is large enough to have someone sleep in there if they wish. There is a deck off of the master bedroom looking down the valley at the mountains and river. The second bedroom is on the main level, it has a full size bottom and twin size top bunk beds. If you have your best friend with you, there is a dog door, into the enclosed yard from this room. The bathroom on this level has a walk-in shower to help relax after a day of hiking, skiing or fishing. The entrance has a bench to take off your outdoor clothes and shoes, with a 1/2 bath close to get in that emergency bathroom break.

Some of the day trips you can take from the home include going to the Victorian town of Breckenridge where you can ski and snowboard at the world class resort. They offer ice skating, snow tubing, an alpine slide, mountain biking, a gold coaster, lots of unique shops and great dining. The best white-water rafting in Colorado is found on the Arkansas River just 45 miles away. The cute ghost town of St. Elmo is very close too. You can visit and feed the chipmunks and watch the 100's of hummingbirds in the summer. This is a popular hiking and ATVing location. Many of the famous 14'ers surround the home and Fairplay where you can hike or climb to the top. The offer some of the most amazing trails in Colorado.

If you are interested in going to the Colorado Springs area, it is only 90 miles away. You can visit Garden of the Gods and Royal Gorge in one day trip. I recommend going to Florissant Fossil Beds in Florissant which is only about 60 miles away. If you like to fish, the Platte River is right by the home and offers Gold Medal Fishing. Montgomery Reservoir, Lake Jefferson, Antero Reservoir, Spinney, and Eleven Mile Lakes are also very close. It is also a hunting paradise if you have a license. Horseback riding is just 10 minutes from the home at the South Platte Ranch. They have awesome day trips and evening steak rides.

This home is accessible in every season as it is a short driveway and off of a main county road with easy access to Highway 9 in the winter months. Whatever your favorite activity is, you can be assured of a memorable and fun vacation whatever activity you choose!

So I became very ill die to altitude sickness. We needed to move to a lower elevation. But there was no flexibility in refunding. The water smelled terribly of sulpher which made the nausea worse. The space did not live up to the pictures either.

The place was great, and the dogs loved having a doggy door! We loved having a fenced in backyard area for the dogs to explore, and the wood stove/fireplace was really nice- heated up the living room area perfect. The master bathroom and shower were cool too. Overall great stay!

The check in was easy, beatiful kitchen with lots of room, has all the normal most used stuff stocked. While i understand well water, the amount of sulfer/rotten egg smell was more than i have ever witnessed. Yes we brought our own as back up, as suggested. The cabin was very nice, and we really appreciate that they allow pets. The back yard was pretty overgrown with weeds. Overall it's a great place, on a lovely location. I would recommend.

Beautiful location! Trail right across the street that runs along the river. Hoosier Pass is super close for more hiking trails. The house was perfect for the two of us and our dog. The bed in the primary bedroom was very comfortable and they provided most of what we needed (e.g. laundry soap, hand soap, garbage bags). Plenty of plates, silverware, glasses. The only minor issue is the quality of the frying pans - they have seen a lot of use. Highly recommend this home!

Great location! Comfortable home base. Adequate cooking amenities. Quiet, surrounded by open space. Views of 14ers-Lincoln Mt, Mt Bross & Quandary Peak. Glorious aspen fall colors! Stroll to Alma State Wildlife Area & headwaters of Middle South Platte River, loaded with small Brook Trout eager to grab dry flies. A huge Bull Moose ambled through the area! Red Fox sighted a couple of times at the house. Several good hikes nearby - especially Mohawk Lakes & McCulough Gulch Trails. Breckenridge, Frisco & Silverthorne offered amenities. Prathers grocery store was nearby in FairPlay & very good. Otto's food truck & Hoozier Daddy liquor store in Alma were very good. Amazing fly fishing on North Fork South Platte River with North Fork Ranch Guide Service! Buena Vista, Leadville & Turquoise Lake were enjoyable day trips.

The cabin was clean, very comfortable and well stocked with towels. Had a small issue with dishwasher, but owners were prompt to respond and get it fixed. Everything around the cabin was very quiet, scenery was beautiful, and there's a large variety of things to do within a short drive.

Our family was thankful for a trip away at Con Alma! Overall, it was a good trip. There were a few hiccups, but we managed to enjoy our time! Pros of Con Alma- the views are fantastic; the proximity to Breck, hiking trails, and other activities is perfect; it's pet friendly; the ease of check-in/check-out; good communication with the rental company Cons of Con Alma- the cleaning prior to our arrival was subpar (cobwebs in many of the rooms, floors in the bunk room were dirty around the perimeter); the utensils in the house were sparse making cooking a little difficult; the toilet seat in the master bathroom was broken for the entirety of our stay; there were ants, lots of ants in the master bathroom Again, we enjoyed our trip despite a few issues and look forward to coming back to the area again. We appreciate the opportunity to stay at Con Alma!
