Scenic drives like Phantom Canyon Road are literally everywhere and hiking abounds at several area state parks and national forests like Mueller State Park. Explore all the charm and history of Cripple Creek including a trip to the Cripple Creek Heritage Center where you can learn about our gold mining history and take in spectacular views. Keep an eye out around town for our famous donkeys. Our local Butte Theatre offers professional live theater year-round. Seasonally, you can ride the Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad. Visit nearby Rita the Rock Planter, our amazing giant wooden troll sculpture, the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center, Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center, Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, and ride to the top of Pikes Peak. Enjoy fly-fishing in Gold Medal Waters, snow skiing on world class slopes, gambling in nearby casinos, and white water rafting and zip-lining at the impressive Royal Gorge. brbrOur cozy, 2-bedroom, 1 bath chalet-style cabin accommodates 6 adults comfortably with a Queen bed in both of the upstairs bedrooms and a Queen sleeper sofa with memory foam mattress downstairs. Our bathroom is downstairs and has a tiled tub/shower combination. The wood stove serves as a very efficient alternative to the radiant baseboard heating and the fireplace offers a romantic element. brbrIf you are considering traveling with a dog, we require prior approval before accepting a booking request. Please email us a completed Pet Addendum, which is part of our Rental Agreement, when you submit your booking request. It is an easy to use, online form and includes our cabin rules for visiting dogs. This form asks for your dog's name, breed, color, weight, age, sex, and if it has been spayed or neutered. If you have trouble with the form, please just send us a simple email with the requested information and an acknowledgement that you accept the rules.brbrWe have free WiFi for your convenience and recommend connecting your cell phone to it for a stronger signal. Our cabin sits at the bottom of our driveway, below street-level, so we strongly recommend an all-wheel/4-wheel drive vehicle during our rainy/snowy winter months. brbrWe would love to have you as our guests so please let us know if you have any questions.brbrCelia & Barry

Cozy, Little A-Frame on the West Side of Pikes Peak.

Cripple Creek, Colorado, United States

Escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life to this secluded A-frame with spectacular views of Pikes Peak to the west and the Sangre de Cristos mountain range to the east. Surrounded by aspens and pine trees, the Aspen Ridge A-Frame is the perfect place to unwind with coffee in the morning, a glass of wine, relaxing on wicker furniture around the fire pit, grilling out on the back deck, or eating at the outdoor dining table, yet is only 15 minutes into the historic mining town of Cripple Creek where you can enjoy sight-seeing, casinos, and shopping. All of the surrounding towns have great views and outdoor activities as well as a variety of food options. brbrSorry, no pets allowed.brbrThe space was recently remodeled, with one bedroom with a queen bed on the first floor, and the loft has a queen bed and two twin mattresses with Pendleton blankets for chilly winter nights. There is a fully renovated bathroom with a shower. The kitchen is equipped with a full fridge/freezer, stove top with 4 burners, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, Nespresso espresso machine, and dishwasher, as well as complimentary coffee and tea. The living room has a smart TV, board games, and blankets. The back deck has several different types of outdoor chairs (8 to choose from), a propane fire pit, a Weber gas grill, a 6 person outdoor dining table, and a picnic table with two lounge chairs and a fire pit on the side of the house for soaking in the views and mountain sunshine. You can walk up and down the road/ridge for spectacular views in all directions and see snow capped mountains.brbrThe cabin has wifi and is only 15 minutes from the town of Cripple Creek for shopping, casinos, groceries, sight-seeing, and more. The Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is 15 minutes away, while hiking in Divide and Woodland Park are 30-45 minutes away. Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs are only an hour away, where you can enjoy all the tourist attractions, such as the Pikes’ Peak highway, Garden of the Gods, Manitou Incline, Cog Railway, Cave of the Winds, Airforce Academy, and so much more. If you want to venture further west for skiiing, the ski resort town of Breckenridge is less than a two-hour drive, or get a day pass at Monarch Mountain (about a two-hour drive) . In the summer, you can easily make a trip to Buena Vista, where you’ll find white water rafting, ATV trails, 14er hiking, and more (1.5 hour drive).brbrYou will have access to the entire cabin for your reservation. The cabin is at a higher elevation and dry environment than many places, so make sure to stay hydrated during your stay.brbrIn the winter, consider taking Teller 1 instead of Highway 67 to access the cabin, which tends to be an easier drive in snowy conditions. The last 2 miles to the cabin are on dirt roads that are well-maintained by the county when it snows.brbrLike many cabins in Colorado at high elevation, there is no A/C. Temperatures rarely exceed 85 degrees in the summer. Although you may not need them, there are is a portable air conditioning unit, two oscillating fans, and a stationary box fan at the cabin that you're welcome to use. The back door has a screen and the master bedroom has a window, so many guests have opened these to let air circulate in the evenings to cool down the cabin. Windows should be opened at night and then closed in the morning to help the cabin stay cool.

Relax by the fire pit under a starlit sky. With its serene ambiance and new renovations, this property offers the perfect mountain getaway.brbrStep inside the cabin and be greeted by a recently renovated interior that seamlessly blends rustic charm with modern comforts. The open and spacious layout provides an inviting atmosphere for relaxation and socializing. Relax is the cozy living area, where large windows frame the majestic mountains, allowing natural light to flood the space. For entertainment, a large flatscreen TV awaits, ensuring you never miss your favorite shows or movies. The kitchen has anything you may need to cook up a quick snack or a large meal. There is tremendous views from every window as you walk through the cabin. You will find a central bathroom with an extra large shower, big vanity and a full sized washer and dryer. Then you will enter into the large bedroom in the back of the cabin. It is set with a memory foam king bed. There is a comfy office chair and a large desk equipped with a charging station and Starlink Internet for all your remote working needs! The exterior of the cabin has a large deck, hammocks and plenty of spots to take on your next book.brbrThe guests have access to the cabin, the area around the cabin that is all on the East side of the driveway. The West side it is marked with blue markers and that is another person property. Also our neighborhood has a clubhouse and guests are able to access the outdoor amenities (tennis courts, play ground and frisbee golf course)brbrCautionary Notes (Please Read)!brbrWe do NOT accept check-in or check-out on holidays.brbrAbsolutely NO open fires are allowed. The risk of wildfire in the area is too high. You will be asked to leave immediately if there is any fire activity. The gas fire pit will be removed if there is a fire ban. brbrThe roads require 4WD for November through April (however it can snow in October and in May!). The roads are plowed after 6 inches of snow. You do not need a 4WD or AWD in the summer but be aware that the dirt roads in the neighborhood are bumpy!brbrThere is no air conditioning unit here. It is very rare in our county to have one installed in a house (even brand-new builds!). The nights are cool in the summer so to cool the house off you can open all the windows at night, then close them during the day and you stay cool! There are fans provided to help blow the cool air through the cabin.brbrWe are at 9,200 feet in elevation — altitude sickness can occur but you can do things to prevent it and alleviate symptoms including, taking a day to rest when you arrive, drink extra water and stay well hydrated (avoiding alcohol will help).
