If you would like them off during your stay please speak with owner. brbrMORE ON THE AREA: Exploration Cabin is in a picture perfect natural setting. Bright sunny mornings, moonlit evenings. The cabin is sheltered under the crags and cliffs of Little Prospect Mountain just upstream of the convergence of two snow-fed mountain rivers. Exploration is on the east side the Big Thompson River as it enters historic downtown to meet Fall River. An open treed riverbank is just across a narrow street. The road is used by pedestrians, bikers, horse carriages, motor vehicles, and buses; and the river is used by fishermen by fly and lure, (and when at peak flow) tube, and kayak.brbrBoth rivers are sparkling snow-fed streams that have their beginnings high up on the snow capped Continental Peaks of the Rocky Mountains. The rivers flow to the sound of rushing water all year round. Energetic rainbow trout are within your voice.brbrIDEAL WALKABLE LOCATION: With Exploration, you get a great walkable location. Getting to Historic Downtown is a simple downstream stroll along a cabin filled lane. There you will find the best of Estes Park's local attractions, festivals, restaurants, coffee houses, wineries, craft beer breweries, retail shopping, green parks, outdoor concerts, riverwalks, hiking paths, and other exciting places to be active or quiet. The Historic Clatworthy Studio, Aerial Tramway (Prospect Mountain), and Eagles Landing Restaurant are upstream to our immediate South. Piccadilly Square, Rock Cut Tap House, Estes Angler, Hunan’s Chinese Restaurant, Day Salon, Fun City, Sweet Basilico Italian Restaurant, Rock Climbing School, Estes Park Microbrewery, and Open Air Advenuture Park are a short walk around the river's bend. Entrance into Rocky Mountain National Park, its wilderness, alpine lakes, trails and spectacular scenery is just a 2 mile drive westbrbrWHAT'S INCLUDED: Everything you'll need for a vacation of a lifetime and best days ever. The Cabin is fully stocked with important details. The kitchen, beds, bath and comfort amenities are all high quality and like new. We provide pantry supplies, kitchen condiments, teas and coffee, towels & linens, special lighting, and first class finishes throughout. We also share our collection of navigational maps, hiking guides and adventure books, fly fishing gear, mountain bike, grill, and top area picks when requested. Some items require reasonable advanced notice. brbrbrbrA few reminders for 2023 Summer guests …brMake sure to get your RMNP Timed Entry permits if you want to access the park between 9am - 2pm. For more info, go to Recreation.gov.brA week before your arrival date we will be sending you Arrival & Access Instructions that will guide you to your cabin and help you to get settled in.brFor this summer, you may want to use an alternate route to your cabin utilizing a bypass to avoid construction work connected with the downtown highway realigning “Loop”. During your visit, you may encounter higher volumes of detouring traffic and sounds of construction activity. The closest construction is across the river on West Riverside Drive with limited visibility from your cabin and you might hear it outside or on a walk toward downtown. We believe inside your cabin it will be quiet and cozy as usual. Some of the ongoing work is slated to be completed as the season progresses. Construction work is limited to 7am to 7pm. If we learn anymore we will let you know. Notwithstanding the traffic disruptions, we are confident you (coming with a little extra humor and grace) can experience the best of This Mountain Life, Estes Park, and Rocky Mountain National Park. The digital map in the photo gallery shows the winding Moccasin Bypass from your point entering town (Highway 34 or 36) to your cabin front door. This route will divert you from traffic disruptions. Can't wait to see you! Read More

    Private Vacation Home
HUGE DECK, WILDLIFE, & VIEWS NEAR NATIONAL PARK
    Estes Park, Colorado, United States

Hike into Rocky Mountain National Park while your car charges, come home to movie night or BBQ, cozy up to a wood stove, & soak in one of the best views of Longs Peak in Estes (STR Permit 20-NCD0076). brbrThe Hill House is 1 block from the park boundary (so elk & deer abound) & 5 mins to downtown. brbr+ Huge remodel in 2023br+ Ensuite bathrooms in each BRbr+ Wraparound deck w/ epic viewsbr+ EV chargerbr+ Wood stovebr+ HD TV & big game collectionbr+ Big kitchen, BBQ, laundrybrbrGreat basecamp for up to 8!brbr*** THREE IMPORTANT THINGS ***brbr1) The Hill House is connected to another of my listings, The Wood Shed. The Wood Shed sits atop the Hill House garage -- imagine a duplex -- but there are no shared walls or connecting doors. The garage is locked off for owner storage, but you do have neighbors next door.brbr2) The remodel in 2023 included the demolition of an outbuilding, with heavy machinery that tore up some of the grass. It's been re-seeded and grass is growing, but as of June 1 it is not yet recovered. I expect it to start looking nice mid-July.brbr3) House Rules: Check in at 4pm or later; check out at 10am or earlier. No pets or smoking. Last, the cleaning fee is lower than about 2/3 of other units this size because guests start a load of dishes and towels on checkout. The savings is passed on to you. brbr******************************brbrOnward! brbrMy home is perfectly situated only a few hundred yards from the boundary of Rocky Mountain National Park. You can watch the sun rise over the mountains from bed, eat breakfast while elk and deer mill about, hike into RMNP from the front door, and come home and watch the stars over the high peaks from the deck. I am a photographer by profession and have decorated the walls with my favorite images of the area. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them! brbrI invite you to stay in my gorgeous cozy cabin! You will love its warmth, cleanliness and authentic mountain feel.brbrIt's perfectly appointed with new, comfy furnishings as well as countless amenities so you can feel at home during your mountain getaway in Estes Park.brbrMy guests here have raved:brbr"... This is an exceptional home with all the amenities you will need."br"... Quiet location and we had deer to view on a regular basis."br"... It was immaculate and clean, nicely decorated, and so comfortable during our stay!"br"... The view are just awesome!"br"... Remote enough that it is dark at night and can see so many stars!"brbrI renovated it myself in 2019, but it underwent further remodeling for months in 2023. The latest project included: brbr + New flooring throughoutbr + Granite counters & new appliancesbr + New decking & outdoor furniturebr + Vintage Moroccan area rugsbr + New decorbr + New and massive washer and dryerbrbrThe original remodel included: brbr + Fresh paint throughoutbr + Modern couch, tables and chairsbr + Comfy reading chairs and lampsbr + Twinkly, cozy lightsbr + A variety of beds (soft, medium and firm) for a great rest. br + A 55” smart TV with lots of streaming options, br + Super fast WiFi with no dead zonesbrbrYou will enjoy 3 bedrooms each with its own private bath, a living room with games, puzzles and a smart 55" TV, a dining room with seating for 8, an antique wood burning stove that will take you back in time. brbrMy favorite feature is the huge wraparound deck, offering a straight view of Longs Peak glistening in the morning sunrise and glowing beneath the Milky Way at night.brbrBEDROOMSbrbrMy home offers 3 bedrooms, each with an attached private bathroom, plus sleeping for two more on sofa beds in the living room.brbrBedroom 1 - The smaller main floor bedroom has the softer mattress of all three beds in the house, plus an attached 3/4 bathroom with toilet, sink and shower (no tub). I hand made a headboard out of reclaimed pine and added a floor to ceiling armoir for storage that has a cool cork door. My favorite part of this bedroom is that it opens directly onto the gorgeous porch.brbrBedroom 2 - This is one of the two master bedrooms. It’s the eastern one at the top of the stairs and is the largest. It offers a chest of drawers, a medium firm bed, full blackout shades for a great night sleep, twinkly lights above the bed for ambiance, and a reading nook with a super comfy chair that gets all day sun. If you like to get in touch with nature’s daily rhythms, sleep here with the shades open and watch the sun rise as it lights up the nearby mountains. You can see the whole show from the warmth of your bed.brbrBedroom 3 - The second master bedroom at the top of the stairs on the west side of the home. It has the firmest bed (my favorite), but is otherwise a near mirror image of the other master bedroom. It’s got full blackout shades, unique pendant lighting, and a full bathroom. If you’re into sleeping in, this may be your favorite. Pull down the blinds and you’ll be in a cocoon until noon. brbrBedroom 4 - Not really a bedroom, but the living room has two ottomans with pull out beds. If you push them together, you get a queen for the largest groups. Spare linens for it are in the dining room hutch.brbrLIVING & ENTERTAINMENTbrbrDeck - This is the hallmark of my home, and it's my favorite place to spend time. There’s a ton of seating out there, so you can relax, read, watch wildlife roaming around, stare at the mountains and stars, and just chill out and enjoy the peace and quiet. When the Milky Way rises, you’ll see more stars than most people ever have in their lives. The deck has lots of seating, and a picnic table with extra chairs for 8 people. You'll often feel like you're in a zoo; because the national park boundary is literally two properties away, herds of deer and elk are constantly roaming around.brbrLiving Room - If it’s cold or windy, come on into the spacious and cozy living room, which has a huge window offering the same views as you’d get from the deck. I installed a 55” smart television on a floating stand I made of reclaimed wood, so you can stream pretty much anything you’d like with your friends and family. There’s a small library with books you can read or take with you (if you take one, please leave one behind), as well as dozens of puzzles and games for when you want to detach from technology. Two doors open from the living room onto the massive deck.brbrDining Room - The dining room will become one of the central gathering points for your friends and family. It features a brand new birch table, seating for 8 on benches and stools, log cabin wood trim on the walls, and an antique wood burning fireplace for chilly winter nights. All combined, the mix of pine, acacia and birch wood gives you a very natural feel, and the cozy wood fireplace completes the scene. A massive door swings open onto the deck from here too.brbrWiFi - I moved the home’s WiFi location to provide a centralized access point with no dead zones on the property. You’ll enjoy a strong 100Mbs connection for streaming, entertainment and work. brbrLAUNDRY & COOKINGbrbrKitchen - The kitchen is a chef's dream! It features brand new granite counters and new appliances: g as range and oven, a full sized fridge/freezer, a microwave, dishwasher, a large island, lots of small appliances, cutlery, dishes, utensils, bowls/pots/pans and virtually anything else you may need or want. The island also features three bar stools so people can hang out and socialize.brbrLaundry - There's a laundry room with a new and absolutely massive washer and a dryer that you are free to use. Please do! I try to keep the detergent stocked but don't guarantee it, so it may be wise to bring a little of your own.brbrThis is a fully furnished home with total access for you. That includes...brbr + 1750 s/f home with...br + 3 bedrooms with attached bathroomsbr + 1 common powder room with toiletbr + Wrap around deckbr + 2 private off street parking spotsbrbrNO SMOKING, NO FIRESbrbrMy home was about a quarter mile away from one of the largest forest fires in Colorado history a few years ago, so we are a strict no-smoking property. No smoking inside, outside, and no outdoor fire pits (now illegal in Estes Park's vacation homes). Charcoal BBQs are banned.brbrGUEST COUNTbrbrOur permit is limited to 8 people max. brbrNOISE brbrEvents, loud music and noises, and parties are strictly prohibited. Please be respectful of your noise level so I can maintain good relationships with my wonderful neighbors. brbrThe house is equipped with Minut, which measures sound levels and temperature and alerts me if things are too loud so I can give you a heads up. It also lets me now about pipe freeze conditions. It does not record content (just decibels) so your privacy is 100% guaranteed. It is on the ceiling in the laundry room.brbrROAD CONDITIONSbrbrEstes has a great plow team and our driveway will also be plowed during storms, but if there's a huge blizzard, they may not be plowed exactly when you need them to be. We cannot assist if you get stuck and we always recommend that people rent AWD or 4WD when visiting us from October to May. We are at 8,000 feet and this can be a snowy area!brbrAIR CONDITIONERbrbrLike nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C. Thankfully mountain air blows down from the high peaks and will cool down the place quickly in the evenings if you open the windows.brbrBEARSbrbrDo NOT leave food in your car! Bears frequent this area and can break in! brbrGARAGE APARTMENTbrbrThere is an apartment above the garage that is rented separately. It's its own private space with no shared walls. Read More

Cabin on Family Property with Huge Views, Quiet Hillside
    Estes Park, Colorado, United States

Bittersweet is five minutes from downtown Estes Park, but feels worlds away. The space was purchased as a summer home by the Sweet sisters in 1972. Its best features are a warm cozy cabin feeling and a view that wraps across the Rockies. From the porch, you can see Twin Sisters, Mt. Meeker and Long's Peak all the way across Estes and the Rocky Mountain National Park to Mt. Ypsilon and bits of Lumpy Ridge. The cabin is between the owner and other family. Some of the space feels 70's and other amenities (like a brand new kitchen sink and front porch) have been updated in the last year. brThe property backs up to Roosevelt National Forest, bobcats, rabbits, mountain lions, elk, deer, humming birds and some pesky ground squirrels are the most frequent animals we see (or see evidence of). It's very dark at night to see the Milky Way. There are lots of wildflowers. The bottom of our driveway leads you to a walking path that goes all the way into town (about an hour and a half walk). Quiet hours are 10 pm-7 am. brThis has been a relaxation and retreat space for generations; it feels good. Read More

The base rate is based on 2 person occupancy and each additional guest is $25 per person per night. **The guest suite (Moose Room) is never rented separately from the main house. The garage is not included in the rental.brbrThis beautiful mountain cottage sits on 1.8 acres with amazing views of Longs Peak, Twin Sisters, Old Man Mountain and Fall River. The original founders of the Elkhorn Lodge built the home in 1934, hence the name Elkhorn Cottage. While there have been many updates, this home boasts of originals giving it the perfect cozy mountain feel. There are hardwood floors, large stone gas fireplace and a fully stocked “retro” style kitchen. The bedrooms are large and the ceilings are tall. The main cottage is 2B/2B and there is a separate guest suite that is 1B/1B (Moose Room). A large deck sits across the entire back of the home that is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the views. It’s about a half-mile walk to the downtown strip via a sidewalk at the end of the street and a short 3.8-mile drive to the less crowded Fall River RMNP entrance.brbrThe master bedroom has a King size bed and French doors that open up to the large deck. We went through a pandemic where we were shut down and lost about 4 months of revenue and in the fall we dealt with unprecedented wildfires where the entire town of Estes was evacuated for several days. We actually didn't know if we would have a home to go back to or if any of our properties would survive the wildfires. As the owner of the home, I have done my best to make this house a home away from home for guests. I believe it is the traveler's responsibility to get travel insurance for their trip. It is not the owner's responsibility to give the traveler a refund or to re-book their trip due to unforeseen circumstances. If I re-book your trip for a later date, then I am losing income because now another guest cannot book it. I simply cannot give refunds or re-book due to any circumstances in which the traveler does not make the trip. It's very simple...GET TRAVEL INSURANCE! This protects the traveler and the owner in natural disaster situations that include but is not limited to pandemics, wildfires, floods, blizzards, car accidents, death or death of a family member, illness, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, asteroids, alien invasions, zombie attacks, war, terrorists attacks, riots or any other act of God. Please just get trip insurance and if you decide not to then do not get upset with the owner for not giving a refund or re-booking. This is my livelihood and I thank you kindly for your understanding and cooperation.brbrA note about the fireplace...I have done my best to write out directions on how to use the remote but it seems that people just end up pushing buttons and not following the directions so it causes the settings to get messed up. Therefore, this is the disclaimer that the fireplace may or may not work and there isn't anyone that can just run right over and try to fix it. brbr Read More
