If you’re traveling with a larger party, be aware that the one bathroom and cozy living areas may feel a bit tight for 6 people. This charming 1800’s Victorian duplex used to be our worst place. That is, until it underwent an extensive renovation that was completed in summer of 2023. It retains its historic charm with original wooden doors, a bedroom fireplace (now decorative only), and its location on a quiet cobblestone street. However, it was thoughtfully modernized with new plumbing, electric, flooring, appliances, and light fixtures and is decorated in a timeless style with a nod to its heritage but in no way retro. This downstairs 2 bedroom 2 bath duplex has lots of historic charm. You enter the duplex from the back of the house into the cozy living room that has comfortable seating and a large smart TV. The primary suite has a queen bed with hybrid mattress, TV, decorative original fireplace, and spacious private bathroom with a tile shower. The bright and airy second bedroom is in the front of the house and has a queen bed with hybrid mattress and TV. The second bathroom is located under the staircase but is surprisingly roomy and has a tiled shower. brbrThe large eat-in kitchen with seating for 4 is outfitted with all new appliances, including a gas stove, dish washer, and washer/dryer laundry center. It includes cookware, dishes, and kitchen basics and includes a coffee bar, bottled water, and some snacks.brbrThe back porch has 4 rocking chairs and overlooks the backyard garden and is a perfect place to relax.brbrThis duplex is just a stone’s throw to downtown Wilmington, so you can walk to downtown and enjoy the historic north end of downtown.
