We have a unique property that has 2 cottages for rent, the little cottage has a king sized bed on the lower level with it's own 1/2 bath and a pull out sleeper sofa in the living room with a full sized bathroom. The bigger cottage has a king sized bed in the master bedroom and 2 twins in guest bedroom with one full bathroom. The listing price is for the bigger cottage only. If you chose to add the little cottage to your stay it is an additional $200/night plus $120 cleaning fee. Lancewood was once part of an Old Indian Trail and a gold mine tract. In 1929, Talmadge Seldon Lance (note the T.S. Lance marker located at the entrance of our neighborhood), his wife Maude Pinner Lance, their teenage children, and friends of theirs moved here from Asheville. But don't get too cozy, there is still plenty of adventure to be had outside. First off, the Saphire Ski Resort located 15 minutes up the road opens for snowy fun. This is a basic ski resort but still a delight. They have great sledding and tubing which guarantee a good time for all. In the nearby posh town of Highlands (15 minutes), there is the Light up the Park and Snow Fest at 4118 – both held at the Kelsey Hutchinson foundation park. You can expect ice-skating rink, snow slides, snowball fights, s'mores, merry go-round, Santa visits and lots of fun shopping for gifts and treats. Of course we cannot forget the Biltmore Christmas spectacular.
