This amazing historic home features original hardwood floors, woodwork, high ceilings, and authentic turn-of-the-century charm. Your part is the entire first floor of this converted duplex. You have your own private entrance and plenty of space to relax and unwind. Convenient parking and an easy walk to downtown mean you can leave the car behind and explore Wilmington on foot. This unique and cheerful space is perfect for travelers who appreciate character and history. The unit is also kid-friendly and great for families.

Guests often fall in love with the hardwood floors, large living room, stocked kitchen, dining table for meals, cozy bedrooms, and charming clawfoot bathtub. The front and back porches provide peaceful places to enjoy morning coffee, read, or simply take in the neighborhood atmosphere.
This is a historic house — meaning it’s a real wooden home with authentic character. You may occasionally hear normal daily sounds from the upstairs unit during regular hours. We maintain a quiet-hours policy to ensure everyone has a peaceful stay, and if anything ever needs attention, we’ll communicate kindly and promptly.
Please do not use the driveway — it’s very narrow and doesn’t accommodate guest parking. There is plenty of free street parking, and you will very rarely have trouble finding a space near the house.
You can check in anytime with the keypad lock and start relaxing immediately. The self-check-in process is smooth and easy. We’ll send your access code on the day of arrival.
The location is unbeatable — a quiet historic neighborhood right in downtown Wilmington. Walk to restaurants, coffee shops, bars, boutiques, galleries, museums, entertainment, and the scenic Riverwalk. The home is a straight 4-block walk to the center of downtown and just a 5-minute stroll to the waterfront. It’s also only about 15 minutes to the beaches.
This is an old house and that’s part of its beauty. We’ve renovated and decorated it while keeping original features whenever possible. If you love creaky floors, historic woodwork, big original windows, vintage lighting, and classic craftsmanship — this home will make you smile. If you prefer brand-new modern spaces, we’re happy to direct you to some of our more contemporary listings.
When you arrive, you’ll find complimentary water and snacks waiting for you. The TV is a Roku, so you can log into your favorite streaming services.
Checkout is at 11am, but late checkout can be arranged if availability permits — 12pm for $20 and 1pm for $30. Just reach out and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Hosts were fabulous, great communication and so helpful when I made a dumb mistake. This first floor duplex is cute as a button, very comfortable, clean, well appointed and thoughtfully laid out. Very convenient to historic downtown and restaurants. Info packet was packed with great ideas, and had QR codes

This was by far the best place I’ve stayed, hands down!!! Allowing an early check, I was overjoyed. The pictures in this listing were appealing but walking in , it was even better than I expected. Communications with Curt and Ada was excellent. The charm of this house was amazing. The attention to detail they added so much more convenience. They take excellent care of their home and we cherished every moment. Location is perfect as you are walking distance to most anything in Wilmington. My husband and I cannot wait to return here! Exceeded all expectations, and we cannot thank you enough.

We loved staying here! The home was so charming and on an equally charming street filled with historic homes and easy parking. Great central location that’s walkable to the riverfront but make sure to read the manual because it has lots of other places to check out! Because of it we explored the castle district, the Venus fly trap “hike” as well as great coffee shops and restaurants. So helpful in making the best of our stay! Thank you!

We were in town for the Azalea Festival. The High Tide was in a great location for walking to the Riverwalk and a convenient drive to the home and garden tour. The house was comfortable, quiet and well maintained. The air condition was strong and the beds were comfortable. The tub is a clawfoot tub that has been converted to a shower. The shower worked great with good water pressure but if you have elderly with you, that have difficulty stepping high out of the shower without a grab bar, you might want to consider this challenge. We had a great stay and highly recommend the High Tide Duplex.

My teen daughter and her friend and I enjoyed our two-night stay. Beautiful property, easy parking, easy walk to lots of stores and restaurants. Was surprised there were no plates, but that was minor. Beautiful historic home with great amenities.
