The main level also has movie seating with a 150” drop down screen and a large seating area in front of a huge wood burning fire place. There are several large dining tables to eat at and play games. The main floor was designed with several large automatic doors to enjoy the mountain breeze and open sun deck area. The lower level has 2 bedrooms with king size beds and a 3rd bedroom with (2) Queen-size beds. Lodge is able to sleep 10 people very comfortably. There is a large smart TV and Wi-Fi in every bedroom. There is a washer and dryer to be used if needed on the lower level. Each level of lodge has a large full size bathroom. There are outdoor patio seating areas to relax at and enjoy the views.brbrAbout the PropertybrThis property has 40 acres of pristine mountain and river access. Southtoe River Ranch has miles of walking trails and chose to 1 mile of river where you can fish, picnic, explore, swim, tube/canoe and float the river. The property once had a working mica mine on the property that now has been turned into an awesome picnic area which also has a deep swimming hole that has been used by past generations over the last 100 years. Also unique to this property is that you have both long distance Mountain views and river views on the same property. The river ranch has horses to look at and a working orchard and vineyard. There are many walking trails from the lodge down to the river to explore. Walking down to the overlook platform from the lodge to relax and drink your coffee and listen to the river is an awesome experience. This is a very private secluded property to which there are many places to sit and relax and just enjoy the peace and quiet of the North Carolina Mountains.brbrThe LocationbrThe Southtoe River Ranch is incredibly easy to get to and conveniently located between two very scenic mountain communities of Burnsville NC and Spruce Pine NC. You can reach either historic town in about 10 minutes for grocery shopping or dinning out at some fantastic local restaurants and or visiting several breweries in which to choose from. Scenic golfing is only 20 minutes away in Spruce Pine which is rated 4 ½ stars by Golf Digest, and voted #1 semi-private course in the region by the readers of the Asheville Citizen Times. There are a lot of hiking trials with majestic waterfalls in the area like Roaring Fork waterfall which is one of the regions prettiest falls, and one of the easiest to hike. Another one of our favorite things to do is a trip to Linville Falls which is only about 25 minutes away. Pack a picnic when you go and after your hike from seeing the huge waterfalls we suggest you stop by Linville Falls Winery on your way back. The wine and atmosphere there at the vineyard is gorgeous. Make a day trip to Asheville. It’s only 45-50 minutes away and has some of the best restaurants, microbreweries, galleries and outdoor adventure activities like ziplining in the Southeast. Another must see if you have not been to Asheville is a visit to the incredible Biltmore Estate. A visit here is a must as its one of the most iconic estates to visit in the United States.

You will fall in love with this log cabin. We did! We were on vacation in the mountains of western North Carolina and found ourselves mesmerized by the South Toe River area. So much so, that we immediately bought The Log Cabin on Neil's Creek upon our departure. It's surrounded by towering Carolina Hemlocks and soft beds of moss. The creek, just off of the back covered porch, can be heard from all rooms of the cabin. The creek is a North Carolina wild trout stream and is filled with Rainbow and Brown Trout. Being in the Pisgah National Forest, you are sure to see some native wildlife, maybe even a black bear. There are an abundance of hiking trails that are walking distance from the cabin varying in difficulty including the Mt. Mitchell trail. Mt. Mitchell is the highest peak east of the Mississippi. brThere is a beautiful golf course only a five minute drive away. brThe cabin is spacious with an open floor plan, large kitchen and bedrooms. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans. There is a full size washer and dryer in the bathroom. There are plenty of board games and puzzles to keep you occupied if you choose to stay in. All of the interior walls are a gorgeous, natural wood. Welcome to The Blessing at Cub Tower. If you are craving quality time away with friends or family in a gorgeous mountain setting, this is the spot for you! This recently renovated mountain lodge is in a picturesque setting nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains tucked under the majestic peaks of Mt. Mitchell State Park. This house will accommodate 12 guests with 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. The primary bedroom has a king bed, while one of the other two bedrooms has a queen/double combo and the third bedroom is furnished with a queen bed. Two of the bedrooms offer amazing views with full length sliding glass doors that allow you to stay in bed and still enjoy nature at its best. In addition, there are two other sleeping spaces. There is a double bed in an alcove area, and there is a daybed in the downstairs common area that converts to a double bed. Families or couples can have privacy if desired or can congregate in spacious living areas on both floors. Both levels feature a full glass front opening up to full length decks affording some of the most beautiful views in all of the Blue Ridge Mountains while rocking or swinging. Whether grabbing a bite to eat around the granite countertop island, sitting down to a great meal at the 9 foot hand crafted live edge black walnut table or lounging on the leather couches and recliners in front of the fireplace which boasts of a 25' stone wall, the upper level offers many great spaces to enjoy. Downstairs you can catch a movie or ballgame in the home theater area with reclining seats in front of the 85 Sony screen, gather around a beautiful pine table for games/puzzles or grab a drink from the beverage cooler before relaxing to read or nap in one of the several comfortable chairs. The rapids of the South Toe River can be heard from the decks and afford some of the best trout fishing in the North Carolina Mountains. There are many great hiking trails, some of which go to beautiful waterfalls, within minutes. The Blue Ridge Parkway is 5 minutes away and offers one of the most scenic rides in the North Carolina mountains, along with sightseeing and recreation. The quaint towns of Burnsville (18 miles) and Spruce Pine (22 miles) are located less than 30 minutes away and offer shopping, dining, and local craft stores.
