Welcome to the Salt Box located in the desired location at MP6 in Kill Devil Hills, NC. We fell in love with the Outer Banks as children and later fell in love with each other here. We were married on the beach just beside Nags Head fishing pier. This is our favorite place to be and we feel certain you will agree after spending your vacation in our beach cottage. We set our cottage up with all of our favorite things we have enjoyed over our years of visiting the Outer Banks. Our home is one block from gorgeous sunsets on the Albermarle sound and a short drive to free beach access. A public boat landing is within walking distance for the boat owner who desires to fish on the water. The Avalon Fishing Pier is only a 5 minute drive away. br After a great day on the beach, come and enjoy an outdoor shower and take a nap in the hammock or read a good book on the deck. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking meals at home and there is also a gas grill for your use. Staying at the Salt Box will provide you with all you need to make a memorable vacation with your family and friends. Our cottage has 3 BR and 2 BA, kitchen with bar area as well as an eat in kitchen. The living room provides a 55 inch flat screened TV with smart tv functionality, along with a Wii and plenty of video games and movies. The master bedroom has a King size bed and an attached full bathroom along with a flat screen TV, the second room has a Queen bed and smart TV and the third room has a bunk bed with a full on the bottom and twin on top and a flat screen TV/DVD player. Linens and towels are provided but we do recommend you bring your own beach towels. There is a washing machine and dryer in the utility room downstairs. We offer four bikes for riding on the bike trail along the sound side. The back yard is perfect for a game of corn hole (set in laundry room) or for the kids to play. brbrWe do not accept pets. Guests must be at least 25 years of age or a family, this home is not suited for parties. The neighbors are permanent residents and we respect them. The front door has a blink doorbell camera for outside surveillance and safety.

Welcome to the Glorious Days Cottage - Remodeled in 2022 with more upgrades in 2023 & 2024! Our family friendly classic “beach box” style cottage is within a short walking distance to the ocean. Sheets and towels are provided and the kitchen, bathrooms, and pantry are stocked with typical necessities. Plenty of space to relax outside on one of the three decks or in the two person hammock in the shade under the house. Our cottage is in a prime location for the ultimate Outer Banks vacation experience!brbrThe Glorious Days Cottage is centrally located in Kill Devil Hills at milepost 6 on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina. This classic “beach box” style cottage sits up on pilings and was built in 1956. It has approximately 784sqft of living area that includes an open floor plan for the living room/kitchen/dining area, 3 modest sized bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and all the amenities to make you feel welcome! In May of 2022 we finished a complete renovation of the cottage, inside and out. Lots of the original character of this classic style cottage still remains. We’ve made sure to label the light switches so that you know which ones turn on the lights or fans…and where, we’ve included a step stool in the kitchen beside the dishwasher so you can reach the higher cabinets, and we’ve labeled the cabinets in the kitchen so you can easily find what you need ~ we had to get creative with the storage in there! Our goal was to create a cozy, comfortable space for you to relax, unwind, and enjoy this wonderful little strip of paradise we call home! brbrInside the Cottage: In the living room you will find a brand new (in 2023) large sectional sofa and 2 cabinets filled with puzzles, games, books, and DVD’s. The kitchen includes full size appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, stove/oven) and is stocked with typical kitchen necessities. A lockbox is located in the pantry. The dining area has seating for 4 at a counter height table and seating for 4 at a wall hung counter height butcher block bar. The Queen Master Bedroom has an attached full bathroom (stand up shower - new in January 2024), a freestanding wardrobe closet with a bar for hanging clothes along with one drawer, and another small dresser with four “basket” drawers. The King Bedroom and the Bunk Room share the full hallway bathroom (tub/shower) - which was just remodeled in April 2023; both rooms have open closets (no doors) with bars for hanging clothes, nightstands with lamps, and a dresser (four drawers). In the Bunk Room you will find double over double bunk beds with 1 twin trundle bed (the top bunk is for children or smaller teens only - not adults), books, legos, and games for the kids. All of the rooms have new Smart TV’s that you may choose to log into your own streaming services on ~ just don’t forget to log out when you leave! The living room TV is also equipped with basic cable and has a DVD player.brbrOutside the Cottage: Plenty of outdoor living awaits you! This cottage has 3 decks with plenty of outdoor seating, a picnic table with umbrella, a gas grill, and a fish cleaning/food prep area. In 2023 we added a volleyball/badminton net in the backyard. Under the shade of the house you will find a two person hammock, boogie boards and sand toys for the beach, 3 swings for the kids, another picnic table, and an outdoor shower with dressing room. Also under the house there is a large laundry room that has a full size washer/dryer, corn hole boards and beach essentials: 6 beach chairs, rolling cooler, 2 beach umbrellas, basket of beach towels, and a beach gear wagon.brbrWe have one actively recording security camera mounted on a pole outside overlooking the front of the cottage and driveway. This security camera records video and audio. Three bedroom beach house in OBX. Nestled between the bypass and the sound in the centrally located town of Kill Devil Hills, NC. Our lovely, clean, smoke free, and pet free cottage provides a place to unplug and unwind. Avalon Fishing Pier is a 3 minute drive. Public beach access parking areas are within a 3 minute drive, as well. The neighborhood offers excellent biking and walking down to and along the sound. Our open plan living, dining, and kitchen area offer a great place to gather with friends and family, to eat, to watch movies and play games. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to make a meal at home. The uncovered deck outside is great for lounging around and watching for meteors at night. The first bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom has a full size bed. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and it's own bathroom with a standing shower. The hallway bathroom is a full bath and it has a tub. We also have an enclosed outdoor shower downstairs. The washer and dryer are located in the utility room downstairs.
