Walking distance to Mercy Hospital and Maine Medical Center and a short drive to the Maine College of Art and the University of Southern Maine. Beautiful Harborview Park overlooks the Portland Waterfront and is 500 feet away. It is a 3-minute walk to a curated neighborhood market and restaurant called Little Giant where you can buy fine wines/beer, sandwiches, pastries, and other sundries. The restaurant serves continental European cuisine. A 10-minute walk will bring you to Rosemont market where you will find groceries, local organic produce, wine/beer, and sandwiches. A juice bar (Farm Truck Juice) is right next door to Rosemont, serving organic cold-pressed juices. Want some pizza Try Bonobo pizza right across the street from Rosemont serving wood fired pizza and local beer. Want to visit one of Portland’s oldest bars Head over to Ruski’s…it’s just a 2-minute walk. You’ll find a local crowd here with pub-style food and friendly service. The Danforth Inn is just a few minutes walk away and boasts some of the finest dining and cocktails in Portland. Go here and at least have a drink in the bar; you will not be disappointed. Walking distance (10-15 minutes) to the Old Port, the Ferry to Casco Bay's islands, and downtown Portland as well. If you want a ride, Uber or Lyfte are active here and about $4-5 to get to Old Port. (Recommended because of crowded parking there)brbrFOOD/GROCERIES: Walk to the small local markets or hop in your car and grab groceries at Whole Foods, Trader Joes, or Hannaford supermarket--all just 5 minutes away. Commissioned by John T. Skolfield, the single family home was converted to an inn and opened for business in 2019. brbrWe are located in the West End, just over a mile southwest of the Old Port in the historic neighborhood known for its elaborate Victorian-era architecture. Our neighborhood offers you the tranquility of the Western Promenade, an 18-acre park offering scenic views and walking paths, in tandem with a host of popular restaurants and cafes, all within easy walking distance. The neighboring Arts District and Old Port offer plenty to explore on foot, including museums, art galleries, theaters, restaurants, shops, and bars.brbrWith just four guest rooms, our inn offers a peaceful stay, satisfying social guests or those seeking solace. Each private room is furnished with a queen sized bed, television (no cable, just smart TV with Netflix account), white noise machine, and a reading chair (or couch depending on the room).brbrOff street parking is available, cannot support larger SUVs/trucks, and being competent in reverse is a plus! For those with large vehicles, street parking is readily available in front of the inn from 4pm-10am for overnight guests (outside these hours are hourly restrictions). A half mile away is residential street parking which is free and has no hourly restrictions for those staying longer than a night.
