"Piper's Bend" is a 3,500 sq ft Midcentury Modern home a mile from downtown Damariscotta. The spacious house set on two acres can accommodate a crowd. Sunlight fills every room thanks to walls of glass that allow guests to enjoy nature and water views. Your own private tidal dock is down a grassy path for swimming & boating (paddleboard/kayaks included). Large level yard for our bocci, croquet or badminton. Quiet, dead-end road, but only 4 minutes from Damariscotta shops and restaurants.brbrMost of the house is on the 1st floor: kitchen with pantry open to spacious dining area, screen porch with water views for dining or lounging , huge living room with wood fireplace, piano and a stage for performances, 2 full baths, 2 bedrooms, a second sitting room and laundry room. The 2nd floor holds 2 large bedrooms, both with 18-ft ceilings, one with walls of windows looking out to the water and a new en-suite bath.brbrSleeping arrangements:brbrBedroom 1 (Master): Queen, en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet, 2nd floor. brBedroom 2: Bunk beds plus an antique three-quarter bed, 2nd floorbrBedroom 3: Two twin beds, 1st floorbrBedroom 4: Two queen beds, 1st floorbrBedroom 5: Double bed, basement. brbrThe walk-in closet off the master bath has often accommodated children. There is a fold-out sofa in the River Room (secondary living room). We have a few mats (comfortable for children on the floor), a crib, and a pack-and-play.brGuest accessbrThe whole property is yours. Kitchen is well-stocked. Treadmill in the basement.brbrThere are two incredible swings outside -- one tied 35 feet in the air from an oak tree that allows you (well, your kids) to swing out over a patch of lupines. It's right next to a cozy fire pit overlooking a stunning field that rolls down to the water. brbrEnjoy exploring the moss garden underneath mature oaks alongside azaleas and rhododendrons. brbrPick organic currants or blueberries. Or head down to the water to gather your own Damariscotta River oysters at low tide.brOther things to notebrYou will have access to a paddleboard and three kayaks.
