The kitchen opens to the welcoming great room that easily accommodates large gatherings or lends itself to cozy spaces. All bedrooms are en suite and the primary bedroom boasts heated floors in the bathroom. A full laundry room is an added bonus.. Centrally located within walking distance of Blue Hill’s eclectic stores & restaurants, library, playgrounds, with easy access to the rocks overlooking Blue Hill Bay. It is a short drive to swimming beaches and local hikes, Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor, the working waterfront in picturesque Stonington and historical Castine, home of Maine Maritime Academy. Venture out and explore all that Downeast Maine has to offer, or just relax in the peace and quiet of our quintessential New England seaside village.brbrBarn Owl was renovated and furnished with family and friends in mind. There is plenty of space to spread out in the 2,700 sq. ft. home, with enough privacy for quiet time as well. The original post & beam framing was exposed in the renovation process, and many hitches, hooks, and other hardware from the pre-Civil War carriage house days are still visible. It is full of historical interest and furnishings include many wonderful antiques. brbrOutside of the house, there is a large patio with a gas grill, fire pit, and lots of seating, a wonderful flower garden, a lawn that is perfect for croquet, and stone stairs leading to our wooded lot.brbrWe supply all you might need for a relaxing vacation, from a stocked pantry to beach towels. There is a Pack’n’Play crib & a high chair on sight. If you have any down time after your days exploring, there are abundant games, puzzles, toys, and books for all ages. If there are other things you might require (such as a lobster cooker), please ask, as we may be able to provide them. If you would like help designing your Downeast adventure, we will gladly work with you to plan excursions that fit you interests and abilities from hikes in the Acadia to ferryboat rides to explore the islands in our bays.

Set on Morgan's Bay at the end of a private road, 1798 provides a quiet retreat for families, remote workers, artists, and writers. With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean, the main floor has a modern kitchen, living and dining rooms that open to the spacious ocean-side deck, and primary bedroom suite. The views are stunningly beautiful. There are 3 wood-burning fireplaces for use when the weather turns cooler. There are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the second floor, and a large family room with 65 TV, fooseball table, and full bathroom in the walk-out finished basement. The bedrooms all have window AC units.brbrRelax on the spacious 50' deck with spectacular 180-degree views of the bay and inner islands, dining ocean-side, or relaxing in the comfortable seating area. The house and deck are well - suited for families and small groups to enjoy time together, while watching occassional passing schooners, lobster boats, and a variety of sealife, such as bald eagles, osprey and seals.brbr1798 sits on a gently-sloping hillside and has a finished, walk-out, light-filled basement where the large family room is located, with a 65-inch TV, fooseball table, and assortment of games and toys. There is also a full bathroom and laundry room on this level, as well as a quiet office space with desk, comfortable chair, computer and printer/scanner.brbrBehind the house and facing the bay is a fence - enclosed unheated swimming pool, available June through late September, with an inviting stone patio and seating area. A solar cover helps warm the pool water during the summer.brbr1798 is child friendly. It sits at the end of a private road and has an outdoor play structure with swings, slides, a tower, and sandbox. One of the second - floor bedrooms has a bunk bed plus twin bed. brbrLocated a mile from the charming village of East Blue Hill, the house is 5 miles from Blue Hill Village, and 13 miles from the larger (small) city of Ellsworth. Guests have easy access to grocery stores, many choices for dining out, and a variety of small shops, galleries, and more to explore. Curtis Cove, a popular swimming spot, is a beautiful half mile walk on a quiet side road, and Blue Hill Heritage Trust maintains beautiful walking and hiking trails throughout the area. The Green House Homestead - Blue Hill Maine

The Green House is a fully furnished three bedroom, two bathroom house. Originally built in 1890's on an apple orchard. Today there are still some old apple trees that are prolific producers in the fall. brbrThe house is located on Falls Bridge Road, which is less than 10 minutes drive to Blue Hill village, which is a beautiful historic town full of history. brbrThis house can sleep 4-6 depending on sleeping arrangements. All linens and towels are supplied. brbrOn arrival you will find a large expansive lawn and outdoor wooden deck with a small table and chairs and gas BBQ. On the main level is the living room, the dining room, the sun room, the reading room, the kitchen, bedroom 1 and a bathroom. Up the stairs we have two other bedrooms and another bathroom. The house is fully insulated and carpeted. The house has wifi. brbrNO BEACH ACCESS. brbrThe kitchen was recently renovated in 2015. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, cutlery etc. The kitchen has a dishwasher, double fridge freezer, range and range hood, plenty of cupboards and a small kitchen table and chairs. brbrNext door we have a dining room which easily fits 6 people. Adjacent to the dining room is the reading room with two chairs and some books. The front living room looks down towards the sea and the 3 acre grounds. The main bedroom is large in size with a double bed, 2 bed side tables, chairs and cupboard. This room gets wonderful morning sun. Next to the bedroom we have the bathroom which was fully renovated in 2015. The bathroom has a bath/shower, toilet, bathroom vanity etc br brUpstairs there are two bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed, and the other bedroom has two twin beds. Next to the bedrooms we have another bathroom that was renovated in 2015. Shower unit, bathroom vanity basin, toilet etc. Both bedrooms get good light. Each bedroom has partial black out blinds as well. brbrIn the basement we have the laundry with a tub, washing machine and clothes dryer. brbrNotesbrThe house is heated by baseboard heating brNo AC, which is why Blue Hill is so nice in the summer. Have some fansbr Propane 3-burner BBQ brThe carpets are new, so we have a no pets policy. brDon't water the garden as this will run our well water dry. brMinimum stay is 7 days with checkout in/on Sunday. brCheck-in is 4pm, check-out is 9ambrNo beach or waterfront access from June 1 to October 15brbrWe have one 32 TV (smart) which is connected to DISH Cable network. We have water views, but not beach access.
