As you drive into the Lodge, you will see the trees in various shades. At the Lodge, you will enjoy the view of the vibrant colors from the spacious wrap around porch. In the winter, bring your gear for ice fishing or snowmobiling. It is a beautiful sight when everything is covered with a blanket of snow.brNot far off the Schoodic National Scenic Byway and the unspoiled, uncrowded Coast of Maine at its best. You will enjoy the mix of fresh water access with easy proximity to the salted coastal views along the Scenic Byway and the Acadia National Park. Located less than a half hour from the entrance of the Schoodic Penisula and the breathtaking Schoodic Point in the lesser traveled part of Acadia National Park. brThe outdoor opportunities are endless. Whether it be hiking, biking or 4-wheeling or snowmobiling, you will have access to many trails in the area. The home has a full private beach on quiet Flanders Pond (the size of a lake) with provided kayaks. You can swim or fish in the pond. Beach front includes a dock suitable for up to 20 foot boat (not provided). Boat rentals are available in the area. Flanders Pond offers good fresh water fishing and is great for ice fishing. Join the ice fishing tournament in February for a chance at prizes!brThe private, spacious front yard overlooks the water and features a hammock, swing and fire pit. Enjoy the sounds of the babbling brook or the loons calling on the pond as you relax on the deck or enjoy the Adirondack chairs closer to the water.brThere is plenty of parking space for your vehicle and trailer so you can bring your boat or ATV or snowmobile. Located on a dirt road (2 miles on dirt road) with easy access to the Downeast Sunrise Trail system for ATV’s. Boat rentals are available nearby.brThis is a year round rental. Come and visit during the off peak tourist season for a lower rental rate. The large pond freezes and makes for good ice fishing or skating in the winter. Fall is a beautiful time around the Lodge when the leaves are in full color. brThe house features beautiful rustic furnishings including a large hickory dining table that seats 10 with a view of the pond. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of dishes, cooking equipment, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, blender, etc. The large refrigerator features water and ice and the large gas stove/oven will cook for a crowd! Dishwasher is provided for your convenience. A gas grill is provided on the large deck. brFamily room with a pool table, couches and TV is located downstairs separate from the spacious upstairs living area which also has couches and TV. Zephyrus Cottage is a new home, with three bedrooms, two baths, and an open great room with kitchen, dining, and living areas. The living area flows onto our expansive deck with space for grilling, dining, and relaxing. Best of all is our private dock on the lake, which is great for swimming, fishing, and boating. We have the best sunsets and expansive views of nearby Schoodic Mountain and the tippy top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia. brbrLocationbrbrZephyrus Cottage is located on Flanders Pond in Sullivan, Maine. Flanders Pond is roughly one mile long and a half mile wide, and sits at the base of Schoodic Mountain. The pond is great for swimming, fishing, and boating with access from our private dock. Schoodic Mountain is part of Donnell Pond Maine Public Reserve Land, which features great hiking and swimming just 3 miles away. Zephyrus Cottage is 35 miles from downtown Bar Harbor, the Acadia National Park visitors center. We are also only 16 miles from the Schoodic Peninsula section of Acadia. The picturesque coastal Maine villages of Sorrento, Winter Harbor, Birch Harbor, and Corea are all very close by. From Zephyrus Cottage you can explore all of Acadia and Downeast Maine, and enjoy the quiet tranquility of a wild Maine lake.brbrbrAmenitiesbrbrZephyrus cottage has an open living area for cooking, dining and relaxing, three bedrooms, two full baths, an expansive deck, and a private dock on the pond. The second floor offers one bedroom with its own balcony overlooking the lake, a second bedroom, and a full bath with shower. We have a mini-split head pump in the living area that heats and cools the super-insulated house. Keep an eye out for loons and bald eagles.brbrDonnell Pond Maine Public Reserve Land borders Flanders Pond to the north, and can be accessed from a trailhead three miles away. From the trailhead you can climb Schoodic Mountain (elevation 1090 feet) for fantastic views of Acadia, Mount Desert Island, and beyond. You can also walk ¼ mile to Schoodic Beach on Donnell Pond and go for a swim. Other hikes from the trailhead include Black Mountain, Fiery Mountain, and Wizard Pond.brbrIf you like to mountain bike, check out the Downeast Sunrise Trail. Down East Maine Beach Front Escape Near Bar Harbor

Welcome to our family camp where the sun sets over Flanders Pond and eventually disappears behind Shoodic Mountain. Our pond has a sandy bottom pond, it spans over 550 acres so we like to call it a lake! This house features its own private beachfront with two kayaks included! Swim the crystal clear waters! We are about 45 mins to Bar Harbor and Acadia State Park. Winter Harbor/Shoodic Pennisula is about 15 mins away. Down East Sunrise Trail is right across the pond for hiking and snowmobiling.brbrThe layout is as follows, bottom floor has a one car garage which leads into a partially finished game room. There is a pull out couch in there that can serve as an extra bed if necessary. The laundry is down there as well. Second floor has the full bathroom, kitchen and living room as well as a walkout balcony. The top floor has the primary bedroom with balcony and the other bedroom has two adult size bunk beds as well as a twin. There is also a half bathroom in between both of the bedrooms.brbrThe house is fully equipped with baseboard heating for the winter months, running water from a deep well, and fully functional cesspool. The pond does freeze over during the winter. People ice fish the pond during the icey months. In the summer, you can catch brown trout, smallmouth bass, white perch and pickerel. Down East sunrise trail is right around the corner. brbrThere's a bunch of trails you can visit nearby as well. 10 mins away you can go to the shoodic beach and climb the shoodic mountain. brbrIn the summer you can take a boat ride to bar harbor from winter harbor and just avoid all the traffic getting out there. Winter harbor is like 15 mins away and is a part of Acadia national park. You can rent a bike there and cruise around the scenic roads.brbrThere's two kayaks and life vests for guests to use. Swimming and boating are at your own risk!br
