Explore two beautiful beaches, one in front of the cabin and another accessible via a wooded trail through the forest, leading to a private sand beach cove complete with a second dock. We have kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards available at the beach cove for your use.brbrWater at the cabin is pumped from the lake. If you choose to book, we send info about a local spring you can chose to get drinking water from.brbrPlease bring your own beach towels. There are two beaches, one right in front of the cabin and another by a trail through the forest leading to a private sand beach cove with a 2nd dock. brbrIf you are wanting to bring your pet, please mark you are bringing pets in your booking. These are delicate and cannot be replaced, please do not use them. Fireplace is not for warm weather months.br brPlease keep in mind that this is a camp and not a house. It is on a dirt road about 3 miles from pavement and the driveway is dirt so there is going to be dust. Keep in mind that you are in the wilderness and there can also be bugs, spiders, spiderwebs etc. We do our best to keep it as clean as possible but there is no way to keep it as one would a house. Please come with a love for the outdoors and an appreciation of what this spot has to offer. Built with a sense of adventure, love and fun in mind. My wish is that people can enjoy the full Katahdin/Northwoods experience and have memories for many years to come! br brAmbajejus Lake is part of Pemadumcook Chain of Lakes that is 14 miles long and is the fifth largest body of water in Maine. It is still a true wilderness lake with much of it undeveloped. The loons are plenty and are one of my favorite things to look forward to as well as the resident eagles and many other birds and wildlife.brbrConvenience and Local AttractionsbrA convenience store, restaurants, pub, and brewery are located nearby. Next to The Golden Crossing (convenience store), is a boat launch at the dike. Town amenities, including grocery stores and additional dining options, are just 15 minutes away. For your convenience, we provide a detailed Welcome Guide upon booking, highlighting local restaurants, breweries, pubs, and nearby outdoor activities with names and addresses of everything you might want to know nearby.brbrDisconnect and ReconnectbrPlease note that there is WiFi but no TV in the cabin. If you desire additional entertainment, plan to bring a portable DVD player, laptop, or other devices for personal use. Cell service may be unreliable, yet most cell providers do work on our peninsula while at the cabin.brbrAdditional Things To DobrThe area has Baxter State Park, Appalachian Trail, Penobscot River, Northwoods Trading Post, Moose Watching, Whitewater Rafting, Hiking, Canoeing, Kayaking, Guides & Tours, Fly Fishing, Boating, Skydiving, Bird Watching & Float Plane Rides.brbrOther things to note & rules brYou must be 25 years old to book a reservationbrbrNo smoking inside. Spectacular Waterfront, Mountain view, Private Maine Cabin

Millinocket, Maine, United States

Lake and mountain Views !!! Private with all the fun things to do on the lake , and the newest National Park, and a view of Maine’s highest mountain. You bring in your groceries or get them delivered and you don’t have to be around anybody that you didn’t come with! It’s really spectacular .It’s heaven on earth and don’t let the ratings affect you because it’s seldom rented, which is how they rate a property! Writers, Artists, Nature Lovers, Hikers, and Families, this is for You if you want to get out of the city and into Nature!!!Listen to the call of the Loons, in your very own Golden Pond type adventure.. Our new National Monument, to become a National Park, on 87,500 acres , is a few miles from this camp, right next to Baxter State Park. The Appalachian Trail starts or ends at this Mountain. Swim in the lake right outside your front door! Canoe over to the islands and watch the eagles fly and nest! In August of 1846 Henry David Thoreau traveled near this camp and subsequently wrote his book The Maine Woods. In the mid 1800's, The famous Hudson River Valley School Painter Frederic Edwin Church came to these lakes and painted many scenes of our Mt. Katahdin. Writers , artists, and naturalists seek out this visual and inspirational environment. 5 Lakes connect together making this a great lake for boating, kayaking, nature watching, fishing, hiking, painting, writing and relaxing. The entire front of the camp is all windows, facing the lake and mountain views. The downstairs consists of a custom kitchen, with live edge cedar cabinets and counter tops with antler handles. Log walls and log beamed ceilings are throughout most every room. The stove and refrigerator are new but built to replicate beautiful old 1930's styles. The stove is a 6 burner, 4 gas and 2 electric, with an electric stove and warming oven. There is a dishwasher and trash compactor as well. The separate dining area seats 6, but extensions can seat 10 to 12. A large multilevel antler chandelier hangs over head with spot lites to highlight authentic Moose Head on one gable end and a Caribou on the other, both with imposing racks! An array of choices in cutlery include faux antler handles, or red handles to match a red cardinal dinner service. A variety of pewter bowls, platters, and various animal motifs make for exciting place settings on the Ethan Allen dining table. For informal breakfasts and lunches, there is a casual table and chairs in the front window of the sitting porch, practically ON the water. The camps on either side of us can't be seen from brour location. Camps across on the islands can be seen at a distance. There is a 4 bed bunk room and a very large bathroom downstairs. The large living room focal point is a floor to ceiling rock fireplace and the view from a large bay window with 2 flanking windows overlooks the long water toward the mountain. The opposing shoreline has no buildings on it because the Conservation Agency and Timberlands has left much of our area pristine, with development on only certain shorelines. Canoeing, kayaking, or boating throughout the 5 connected lakes and many secluded islands can be like a wilderness trip, without sight of camps for miles of shoreline. But, you are only 5 miles from a hospital and shopping!brThere is a modern laundry room behind the bathroom with an exterior exit door.brUpstairs is the big master bedroom, equal in size to the downstairs living room. Pine ceilings and walls, antique oriental rugs, a king size bed, and even a treadmill in the side niche all overlook the million dollar water and mountain view. A second bedroom is on the other side of the hall way and a full bathroom is in between. There is another bedroom upstairs, but it is our lock off room for personal items. Only the master bedroom has a wall AC, because it is usually cool at night in Maine. This camp was originally built in the early 1930's from logs imported from Germany's Black Forrest, and we added on to it in the 1980's tripling it in size. Smoking is strictly forbidden. Fires in the fire place must be kept brmoderate to small in size. This camp is in a secluded location. You must park in a private Association parking lot and walk on a nice pathway approximately 50+- yards, over a pedestrian railroad crossing and past the neighbor's cabin. No vehicles are allowed on the path but we have an electric cart to carry things in. There is a dock over the water in front of our camp. A canoe and 2 kayaks are available. Fairpoint wi-fi is available in the camp.brWe have many outdoor chairs, a hammock, and a picnic table lakeside.brThere are 3 TV's.Flat Screen. Cell phone use only, no hard line. Verizon works best. Wi fi too!brThis camo is not suitable for young children because of all our antiques, and the closeness of the lake. Although we have just changed to instant booking, and because this is our home of decades , we will require a personal conversation when they release your phone number so we can discuss rules and regulations. We are excited to share our home with you and want to be sure in advance that it's a good fit.
