Yellowstone Trail Lodge · Yellowstone National park

Emigrant, Montana, United States

If you could still follow the historic Yellowstone Trail to Yellowstone National Park you would pass this modern day western cabin - full of all the amenities you dream of in a vacation home, but only a short 30 minute drive to Yellowstone National Park.brbrThe Yellowstone Trail Lodge is a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath home, and only 10 years old. The home is furnished with the finest furniture, new mattresses and every detail and amenity you could imagine. You will find yourself at the end of a rural road (but still very easy to drive to) with uninterrupted views of the Absaroka mountains and the surrounding Paradise Valley. The minute you step inside and see the deer and antelope grazing in the 4 acres surrounding the property, you know you have found your Montana vacation home. brThe lower level has a bedroom with a queen bed and nice desk, full bath and washer / dryer closet. The full kitchen with dining area is ideal for cooking meals to eat with breathtaking views or outside on the patio, enjoying the Big Sky air. Stocked with large and small appliances (all new), utensils and serving ware for the entire group. brThe living room has seating for all, windows with views, and a pull out sofa (queen size) for additional sleeping. The flatscreen smart TV has Direct TV and a very simple stereo system. brUpstairs are 2 bedrooms and a shared full bathroom - the first bedroom has a queen bed, TV, and desk - and of course, more of those amazing views. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and a dresser. brAside from everything in the home being like new, well thought out and comfortable, you cannot imagine a more ideal location for a trip to explore the mountains, rivers, towns and your favorite National Park. brThe owners of the home manage a hotel in the west and know what it takes to make a guest feel at home. They also have a love for the history and romance of the historic Yellowstone Trail - a historic route that is mere yards from where the home sits. In addition to a sense of place, you will find interesting history and artifacts in the home. The Yellowstone Trail Lodge will quickly become the place you will want to return to year after year with your family and friends.brbrYou can access the home with an electronic keypad on the front door. There is also a backdoor key pad if needed.brbrWe live in Livingston and are available for questions or emergencies. Most info is in the welcome book or sent to you prior to arrival, but please do not hesitate to call us with any questions! We are always happy to help and would always prefer a question rather than any frustration on your part!brbrYou are in a neighborhood, with other homes around, but it's definitely still rural. You are 15 minutes or less from restaurants, bars, hot springs and groceries.brbrYou will need a car to get around the area. You are an easy and short drive to Gardiner and Yellowstone National Park (to the south) or 10 minutes from Emigrant (to the north) where you can find groceries, gas, restaurants, and entertainment in either. Livingston is 25 minutes to the North of the house. We recommend 4 wheel drive in the winter time. The roads in the neighborhood are plowed in the winter, but its always a good idea in Montana!brbrThere is no garbage service in the area, so guests must take their bagged garbage to a local green bin during their stay and before departure.

Guest House

Horse Ranch on the Yellowstone River. Close to Gardiner and Yellowstone Park.

Emigrant, Montana, United States

If you are looking for a perfect base camp to explore Yellowstone National Park and Montana, you've found it! Our guest house is situated on the banks of the Yellowstone River, just 17 miles north of Yellowstone National Park. It is a free standing structure which sleeps 4 comfortably. Stay with us and you'll have easy access to the river, the national park, and the rest of the Big Sky state of Montana.brbrOur family raises horses and maintains pasture and grazing for clients. In the summer, you'll witness the everyday chores of a working ranch--irrigating, haying, fencing, etc. In other seasons, breeding and training horses take up good parts of the day. While you enjoy the peace and quiet of this agrarian setting, rest assured that it's a short ride to the amenities of town. We think it's the best of both worlds.brbrNational parks, you may know, are not pet-friendly. We offer a variety of kenneling choices for dogs, and corrals or stalls for horses. Guests are free to keep their pets in the guest house, if they wish.brbrChildren especially, but adults as well, are encouraged to enjoy our cats and dogs, collect fresh eggs from the chicken coop, watch as horses are trained in the round pen or as ferriers tack shoes on their hooves. It's a safe, fascinating environment, and a welcomed reprieve from the rigors of traveling.brbrWe're happy to help you plan your days, in and around the Yellowstone ecosystem. Hopefully, you'll return home with an idea of what life is like on a ranch, as well as many memories of Yellowstone Park and Big Sky country.brbrTHE SPACEbrThe guest house is clean, comfortable, and has all the basic amenities. The queen master is downstairs with a closet, dresser, and fan. The full bathroom with a stand up shower, vanity, separate toilet room is on the main floor. brbrThe kitchen and living room complete the ground floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker, basic spices, oven, range, microwave, toaster, baking and cooking equipment, cutlery, glasses, bowls, plates, and more.brbrA view of the Yellowstone River consumes the east facing window of the living room. Two rocking chairs, a sofa, small ottoman and chest make a cozy seating area. Satellite TV programming and a flat screen TV make winding down at the end of the day easy.brbrSteep stairs lead to the loft with two twin beds, a small seating area, closet and fan.brbrThe side room in the hallway has a washer and dryer for guest use as well as all veterinarian supplies for livestock. brbrThe house shares a front space with horse tackle and feed. We provide a big crate for your dog should you ever leave them at the house to go into the Park or out to dinner. Dogs are never allowed unattended and at large in the guest house.
