In the 1870s 'Yankee Jim' built a toll road leading to Yellowstone National Park. In the 1880s, the Northern Pacific Railroad completed a rail line that competed with Yankee Jim's route, and eventually forced him out of business. This historic cabin, artfully restored, is along this route.

Just 17 miles north of Yellowstone, it offers a taste of a bygone era and great proximity to the treasures of south west Montana. Expertly landscaped, this property allows you privacy without the inconvenience of a remote location. Perfect for singles or a couple who value character, history and authenticity in their choice of lodging. This is truly a one of a kind property.

A studio cabin with a separate bathroom/laundry area. The space is meticulously planned and perfect for a single or couple. Four areas in each corner define the main living space.

First, a small seating area with two leather chairs, small marble side table, and a dresser with a big screen TV (DVD's only).

Second, a built in bench on the southern and eastern walls with cushions and a large wooden table on wheels, perfect for dining or creating.

Third, a small corner kitchen complete with all the necessities and beyond: stove, range, microwave, coffee maker, cutlery, glassware, plates, bowls, cooking ware, placemats, and a stainless steal refrigerator.

Lastly, the comfortable queen bed with high quality bamboo sheets, bed side tables, reading lamps, and contour pillows.

The bathroom is separated by a wooden door. The bathroom has a toilet, spacious shower framed in rail road ties, stackable washer and dryer, and a beautiful marble vanity with an artistic twig framed mirror.

We have an outdoor BBQ for outdoor grilling along with a small antique prep table.

The cabin is surrounded by a vibrant, organically treated lawn as well as rock tiers of flowers, trees, and shrubbery. The rock terraces are well kept and make sitting outside very enjoyable.

The entire studio is yours with off street parking and a beautifully manicured lawn. Please park on the small gravel lot in front of the stone step pathway.

We enjoyed our stay here! The ambient lighting, the tastefully appointed furnishings and decor, the well-positioned location all added to the total enjoyment of this property! We both loved that a momma bear and her cubs came through the yard here on the final evening.

We love this cabin near Yellowstone! This is our second time staying here and it was just as special. It’s close to the park but remote enough to have that Montana feel. The house has everything we needed and love the washer and dryer. We can’t wait to come back!

Exactly as described. The luxurious bathroom and high-end toiletries were the standout features. The place was easy to find, and the location was excellent. Just note that the internet and phone signal can be a bit spotty.

Minus the dust from the road this was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet, beautifully decorated, and an easy drive to YNP, Pray, MT for a meal at The Sage, or to meet our fishing outfitter. We made meals and did laundry, both appreciated. Well constructed cabin, including the spacious bathroom. Loved the Quality sheets too.

Loved having a washer/dryer but there was no cable tv. Very clean which is the most important. Also if your wanting to see bears there is a hang out close to B Bar Ranch, we just happened to see people passing our cabin and followed it wasn't disclosed.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon here and could not have chosen a better spot to enjoy the Montana views, wildlife, and other local attractions. We had the privacy we wanted and the cabin was the perfect mix of rustic and luxury.

Serene, deer every day around the cabin. Very comfy and wonderful stay! Beautiful drive to the cabin once off 89. Only down side is the 5 mile bumpy dirt road. We were fortunate to have a pick up truck!

This cabin was the perfect place to rest and relax after a day of hiking! We enjoyed sitting on the porch every evening and saw several antelope. On our drive back, after hiking in Yellowstone, we saw herds of elk. Pretty amazing! The cabin had all of the dishes and utensils to cook with. Tanya, our host, left us some ground coffee from a local coffee shop. So good! Tanya was quick to respond. The bed was very comfortable and the washer and dryer was nice to have too! I'd definitely stay here again!

Everything was perfect with this property for us. If you are looking for a cozy, easy place to relax and unwind, then this is the spot. Our hostess has done an amazing job of preparing and providing everything you need to be comfortable in this cabin. The space has everything you would expect to have in a well furnished house. I encourage anyone wanting to be near beautiful scenery, a short drive to Yellowstone, and access to great fishing activities, then go ahead and book this place, you will not regret it ..... promise!
