Unique Madison River Montana Fly Fishing Rental Home, Private Sun West Ranch

Cameron, Montana, United States

Welcome to Big Sky Country!brbrBefore I jump into the description, I must tell you that September and October are, by far, one of the most magical times on the ranch. Crowds are gone, the fishing picks up and elk are a daily occurrence on the property. You can hear their bugling and cow screams from dusk into the AM. It's indescribable and hits your soul! It's like having a mini-Yellowstone and you can stay in your PJs! brbrThis is not your typical, Montana Log Home. In fact, far from it. Our home is truly incredible and its unique craftsmanship, while situated on a private 2,000 acre ranch with 4 miles of private Madison River access, will take your breath away. The house is one of 6 homes featured in the 2013 Madison Valley Home Tour by the Madison Valley Medical Center. 13 miles of private dirt roads and trails to run, bike or hike in addition to private ponds (stocked with Western Cutthroat trout!) and Yellowstone-like wildlife that you can view without the typical crowds and tour busses of people. Did we say PRIVIATE We just ask that you please be considerate and respectful of the moose, elk, deer, and (occasional) wolves by keeping your distance and enjoying them for their wild beauty rather than an 'Instagramable moment.' :-)brbrMany of our guests are repeat visitors and we expect you will fall in love with the river, the mountains, and the beauty of our Madison River Valley Lodge as well. Oh, and the fishing is some of the best in the world - right out the front door! brbrThe home is scrubbed clean after each stay. Our cleaning team thoroughly disinfects and sanitizes all kitchen and bathroom surfaces, as well as frequently touched surfaces such as tabletops, light switches, doorknobs, stove, fridge and more. Linens and towels are thoroughly washed. The Madison River Lodge is extremely unique, comfortable, inviting, and warm with hand-crafted interiors by expert artisans from an Amish community in MT. Everything is powered by solar energy and backed up by the grid. This is truly a one-of-a-kind new, environmentally sensitive dwelling.brbrMadison River Lodge is nestled perfectly in fisherman's paradise. The home and property are surrounded by majestic mountains with 4 miles of PRIVATE access to the Blue-Ribbon waters of the Madison River. Drive or walk down the driveway, pull up your waders and you will find yourself standing in a trophy river with a backdrop of the Madison Range mountains above you. When you are ready to explore, other nearby fishing spots including, Hebgen Lake, Henry's Lake, Quake Lake, Coffee Pot, and Cliff and Wade Lakes. Yellowstone National Park is just a scenic 42-mile drive away. If you want to stay local, the property has several stocked ponds and creeks in addition to the private Madison River access. brbrFor those of you who like to mountain bike or trail run, make sure you get up early to run or bike the many miles of gravel roads and trails for the amazing views and wildlife viewing on the 2,000-acre ranch. You are just about guaranteed not to see a vehicle go by! brbrWhile you are at the house, keep your eyes out for bald eagles, osprey, mule deer, big horn sheep, moose, and elk. brbrUnforgettable 270-degree vistas of mountains, river and ever-changing light. In the evenings, hike or drive to view wildlife similar to Yellowstone's on this 2000-acre ranch. If you wish to visit Yellowstone National Park, it's a beautiful 42 mile-drive away. For some real Cowboy Town action, Ennis is 30 minutes north. Bozeman is around 1.25 hours Northeast. brbrWireless internet is also available throughout the house but heck, we recommend you stay offline and ignore your email! brGeneral Description of the Madison River Fishing Lodge: You will be embraced with a warm (and cool in the summer), comfortable, healthy GREEN home utilizing solar power but grid intertied with 270 degree vistas of mountain ranges, sitting above the trout-rich Madison River, in a ranch setting 42 miles from Yellowstone National Park (30 miles from Ennis) and with private access to 3 ½ miles of fishing on the Madison River.brbrThe house has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, laundry, grill, ample parking, complete privacy and safety on a secluded, private ranch. brbrThe kitchen contains top-of-the-line equipment including double Miele ovens with Magic Chef programming, a DCS gas cook-top, a silent Bosch dishwasher, a large refrigerator with freezer compartment, and a good size pantry. There is an outdoor Weber gas grill.brbrThe house has a steam bath as well as a Jacuzzi bath. brbrThe entertainment system includes a Blue Ray DVD player, a CD player, stereo speakers in several rooms, large screen TV, with Fire Stick (Amazon). There is high-speed wireless internet access throughout the house with a broadband internet connection. brThe 3500 sq. ft. house was built during 2007-09 using renewable resources. It features thick adobe-style walls which, together with a highly insulated roof, keep the house at a constant comfortable temperature for a good part of the year. The house is designed to admit the winter sun and protect against the summer sun. Each room in the house features an interlocking, artistic interplay between wood and plaster. The plaster is a green product with a low carbon footprint (it absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere) and has high vapor exchange properties which tends to preclude water condensation. Straw bales are the insulation between the exterior and interior plaster.brbrThere is a large outdoor porch sitting area with comfortable rocking chairs; a number of small sitting patios tucked strategically around the outside of the house with marvelous views; an outdoor picnic area; plenty of open space to enjoy; and complete privacy.brbrThe house sits adjacent to an elk migration route (fall and spring) on land that may be considered part of the greater Yellowstone eco-system. The house is situated on a 2,000-acre ranch subdivision which has 1600 acres in conservation for recreation. The ranch resources include 3 ½ miles of riverfront on the Madison River, 2 trout ponds, a tributary of the Madison (Horse Creek), wildlife, and 12 plus miles of private roads for jogging and walking.brbrWest Yellowstone is 42 miles; Ennis is 30 miles; and Bozeman is 90 miles. There are airports at West Yellowstone and Bozeman. The elevation of the house is 6000 ft.brbrArea activities include river, lake fishing, river floating (a boat launch just downriver from the house), hiking, sightseeing/ exploring, biking, horseback riding, camping, cross country skiing, and an enormous area of BLM Land and Beaverhead National Forest abutting the southern end of the ranch.brbrSmoking is not permitted inside the house. Pets are not allowed.brbrbrbrKeywords: House, Flyfishing Lodge, Ranch Living, Montana Madison River Rental, Yellowstone.br

This section of river is currently open to fishing all year round. You will need a Montana fishing license. Please check the fishing regulations and follow the guidelines. brThe west entrance to Yellowstone Park can be reached in two different ways, and each is only a 35-minute drive. One route will take you past Quake Lake and Hebgen Lake. The other will take you past Henry's Lake. Either way, the scenery is gorgeous and breathtaking, and you'll see wildlife along the route! brOther nearby points of interest outside of Yellowstone Park include the Visitor's Center at historic Quake Lake, the old pioneer mining town of Virginia City (with shops that are set up with goods of the time and a miniature railroad to ride into town), Upper and Lower Mesa Falls (with a short but rigorous hike to the brink of the Upper Falls) and Harriman State Park (for fishing on the Henry's Fork of the Snake River, horseback riding, and easy walking trails). Cliff and Wade lakes are quiet jewel-like mountain lakes that are only 10 miles from this home, with docks and crystal clear blue water that is great for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing. brIn 20 minutes you can zip into Island Park, ID for many attractions like golfing, the Big Springs, Henry's Lake and hundreds of miles of ATV and snowmobile trails. Here you can find many great restaurants, bars and shops. Be sure to stop in on your way to Virginia City (about 15 miles west of Ennis).brbrA note about your choices of vehicle and clothing: While this home is very easily accessible from 2 major two-lane highways (87 and 287), remember that you are visiting the Rocky Mountains. The driveway and short gravel access road to the house will be plowed of snow and are graded regularly, but we do recommend choosing a rental car appropriate for the season, weather and terrain in Montana. A 2WD vehicle will be fine most of the time, but 4WD and AWD vehicles are recommended during the snowy season which can begin as early as September all the way through June. Please be sure to check weather forecasts regularly. Weather in the mountains can be very dynamic and change quickly. People joke about experiencing all 4 seasons in one day once in a while. Keep various clothing layers and rain jackets handy while you are enjoying your outdoor activities, so you can always be safe and comfortable. brbrPlease visit the Yellowstone National Park website to stay abreast of any temporary or seasonal road closures in the Park, and to take advantage of all the detailed info there about the many amazing park attractions, plus videos and helpful trip planning guides.
