Animal Village/W/Mountain Views

Kalispell, Montana, United States

Our manufactured home on 5 acres in the Montana Mountains just outside of Kalispell! You’ll enjoy private use of the entire house during your getaway. Enjoy your coffee while sitting on the private deck in the fresh mountain air while watching the whitetail deer and wild turkeys right there on the property. This property offers scenic beauty and closeness to a variety of activities all year long. From hiking and boating in the summer to snowshoeing and skiing in the winter.brbrEnter the home into the spacious living room. During the winter, you can enjoy the heat from the wood burning stove while watching your favorite movies or playing one of the many board games we provide. To the left you will find two bedrooms and one full bathroom. The first bedroom contains a queen bed, and the second contains two bunk beds. The bunk bed room includes a window air conditioning unit for those that decide to stay inside on a hot day. The full bathroom has both, a shower and a bathtub. We provide you with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. To the right of the living room, you will find the kitchen, dining area, laundry room, and master bedroom with its own full bathroom. The Master bedroom contains another queen bed and a sofa bed. There is an air conditioning unit and television in the bedroom as well. The bathroom has an extra-large bathtub and a separate shower. The laundry room contains both washer and dryer. We provide the detergent and fabric softener! The kitchen is extremely well stocked with all you will need to prepare your own meals. We include basic spices, coffee, sugar, creamer, and cooking oil. You will find plenty of pots, pans, silverware, cups, wine glasses, and mixing bowls. There is also a microwave, blender, and dishwasher. If there is anything that you need that we did not provide, just let us know and we will bring it over to you, as we are right across the street. The private deck right outside the front door has a gas grill, table and chairs. The perfect way to end your evening after spending the day at Glacier National Park, or at one of the many lakes, rivers, or streams in the area. brbrThe Areabrbr-Smith LakebrOnly 5 miles away is the small, but plentiful “wetland” Smith Lake. This lake is surrounded by a large wetland and is part of a Montana state wildlife refuge. It is one of the best lakes to catch Northern Pike! If you use steal leads and the right bait, you are almost guaranteed to catch pike and/or perch. This day use fishing access is open year around and does have a boat ramp. brbr-Foy Lake and Lone Pine State ParkbrOnly 10 miles away is Foy Lake and Lone Pine State Park. This lake is just minutes away from Kalispell and stocked with rainbow trout. It allows fishing, swimming, and boating. Lone Pine State Park has 7.5 miles of trails you can hike, snowshoe, bike, and/or ride horseback on.brbr-Glacier National ParkbrGlacier is only 60 miles away. This is a must see! One of the most beautiful National Parks out there with numerous hiking trails, lakes, waterfalls, and everything wild Montana has to offer. I would recommend reserving your tickets into the park in advance. The last couple years, the park had to limit the amount of people entering into the park. brbrbrWildlifebrThere are an abundant of different species of wildlife that you can find in the area, including on the property. The species that you are most likely to see on the property include white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, numerous bird and raptor species, and an occasional red fox or skunk. Other extremely rare occasions you may spot elk, moose, a black bear, coyote, or mountain lion. There are many other species that I did not mention that do occur in the area. So always keep your eyes open. You never know if one of these beautiful creatures will bless you with their presents. br brbrSummer ActivitiesbrThe activities in the summer here in the area are limitless. This includes, but not limited to, hiking, biking, fishing, camping, wildlife viewing, bird watching, boating, swimming, and multiple national and state parks. There is a historic biking/walking trail only 3 miles from the house. It runs for 20 miles all the way to the town of Somers. This is also the northern tip of the famous and large Flathead Lake. If you are planning a trip to the famous Glacier National Park, there are many other exciting activities along the way. Everything from zip-lines, hot air balloons, helicopter rides, mazes, and much more. I would highly recommend checking out the Montana Vortex, where gravity defies the laws of physics. Also, being that the house is fairly close to Kalispell, you always could spend the day exploring, shopping, dining, and enjoying all the city has to offer. brbrbrWinter ActivitiesbrThere are two major skiing areas in close proximity to the property. These are Whitefish Mountain and Blacktail Mountain. Both are less than 35 miles away! There are also many areas to cross country ski. Other activities include snowshoeing, ice fishing, sledging, and dog sledging. brbrbrOther Places of Interest:brKalispell is 10 miles awaybrGlacier Park International Airport (FCA) is 20 miles awaybrTown of Whitefish is 25 miles awaybrTown of Bigfork is 27 miles awaybrTown of Lakeside is 24 miles awaybrBlacktail Mountain Ski Area is 25 miles away brWhitefish Mountain Ski Resort is 32 miles awaybrGreat Northern Powder Guides is 20 miles awaybrFlathead Lake is 20 miles awaybrMcGregor Lake is 26 miles awaybrLake Rogers is 15 miles away brBuffalo Hills Golf Club is 11 miles awaybrNorthern Pines Golf Club is 14 miles awaybrClosest Gas Station (Kelly Raes) is 5 miles awaybrClosest Grocery Store (Albertson’s) is 10 miles awaybrbrbrArriving at the Housebr-Once you turn onto Haywire Gulch, the last two miles going up the mountain is a well-maintained gravel road. Any type of vehicle will make it up with no problems in the summer months. However, in the winter, you will need All Wheel or 4-wheel drive at minimum. I would recommend either studded tires or snow chains as there are a couple steeper sections that can get icy in the early mornings before the county comes to sand the road for the day. brbr-There is only one dirt road that leads to the house, and comes to a dead end two house down from the house you will be staying in. In front of the house is a large front yard with lots of space to park many vehicles.brbrbrParking and Entering the Housebr-There is plenty of parking as there is a large front parking area and a circle drive. Can easily fit a least 10 cars. brbr-Once parked and ready to unload, you can either go up the small steps or the handicap ramp to get onto the private deck. brbr-The house has an electronic keypad. You will receive your personal code a few days before your check-in date. brbr-You will also receive specific check-in and check-out instructions. brbr-You will have the entire house to yourselves. The closest entrance to Kalispell is 5 miles West of Kalispell off HWY 2. There will be a gas station (Kelly Raes) on the northeast corner of HWY 2 and Batavia Ln. You will make a right on Batavia Ln. This road turns into Ashley Lake Rd. It remains paved for the first 5 miles, then turns into a maintained gravel road for the remaining 7 miles to the house. Once you get to the driveway, the house will be on your right, and the large shop/garage will be on the left. brbrThe other entrance is 16 miles west of Kalispell. Although it is a little more mileage from Kalispell, it is the way I would recommend in the winter as it is less curvy and flatter. Here you will take the HYW 2 west to Ashley Lake Rd. Make a right and follow this maintained gravel road for 7.5 miles. You will make a right shortly past the fire station staying on Ashley Lake Rd. Ashley Lake will be on your left side. This road will take you to the house. The house will be on your left and the shop/garage will be on your right. brbrBoth entrances are maintained in the winter. However, I would still recommend 4-wheel drive in the winter because the road can still get icy. Studded tires would not be a bad idea, although I do not believe you will need them if you have 4-wheel with good tires. We plow the driveway before your arrival., and if needed during your stay.brbrParking and Entering the House:brThere is plenty of parking either in front of the house or in front of the large workshop. Once parked and ready to unload, you will have to go down a non-slip 49-step stairwell to get to the house. It is lit at night. Seems daunting, but well worth it once you are in the house on the lake! You will receive your personal entry instructions along with your check-in and check-out instructions a few days before your check-in date.brbrMorgan and Alma, the owners, are reachable through Vrbo, e-mail, or cellphone for any questions or concerns. We are always happy to help.br• Must be at least 18 years of age to bookbrbr• Guests not listed at time of booking are NOT permitted on premises. brbr• Remove your shoes inside the house. brbr• The guest cabin and the locked owner/storage closet downstairs are off limitsbrbr• Do not use white towels to remove make-up.
