One car garage is available for guests to use, however other half of the garage is not currently available. The house is near the end of Nelson road, so basically like a quiet cul-de-sac without through traffic. brbrThe driveway is about 45' long, however only about 20' closest to the garage is fairly level. The driveway then slopes down towards the street. So, you may want to bring some leveling blocks, if the trailer needs to stay more level. The height of the bottom of the deck is about 12'. The driveway can fit between 4 and 6 vehicles, depending on the size of the vehicles. Plus, there is room for about 3 vehicles on the street in front of the house. Plus, the one car garage will fit another vehicle.brbrOther things to notebrThere are animals like deer and wild turkeys in the area.brbr- Concerning outdoor games, there is a bag toss game, ping-pong table, and basketball hoop, disc-golf, badminton, plus a hammock. br- There multiple mountain bikes (both man and woman styles). br- There is one stand-up board and 6 kayaks. Since they are a little heavy, one would want to strap them one at a time to a padded roof and slowly drive them down to the boat launch. There are swim noodles and ropes, which one could use to cushion and tie down one stand-up board or kayak at a time to a vehicle roof. One is required to wear a life jacket, which are in the South garage as well. For the Kayaks and paddle board it is recommended to use the camp ground swim beach & boat ramp, since there are far fewer boats and that area is much better protected from wind.br- Folks are welcome to bring their own fishing poles. One can buy the hooks/spinners/weights/etc to attach to the line from the Marina or fish shop or bring your own.br- The Marina also rents powered boats and possibly jet skis, and paddle boards as well. There are other boat rentals, if the Marina does not have a boat available.br- The camp ground on the North side of Rexford has a swim beach and also a boat launch. If it is not totally calm, then one wants to launch the kayak or paddle board from the camp ground boat launch. On a calm day one can paddle from one boat ramp to the other boat ramp.brbrConcerning Pets:br$150/pet per stay. So, if there are like 2 dogs == 2 * $150 = $300 extra fee. Extra fee goes to cleaners and supplies, since it takes extra time/supplies to remove any dog hair/dander for anyone, who is allergic to dogs. br- There is one dog run line, that one can attach a dog lease to in the back yard. That way a dog can do its business at its leisure. However, please remember to scoop the poop regularly, so that no one accidentally steps in dog stuff and bring it into the house. Extra $100 charge for not scooping poop before checking out. Extra $100 charge for not vacuuming dog hair off of indoor/outdoor furniture & comforters.br- Please have everyone remove their shoes, when entering the house, in order to keep the house much cleaner.br- Plus, there is a dog cage on the deck, so one can place their dog in the dog cage, like when one is grilling. It will be much easier for the person doing the grilling, when not having to worry about a dog carrying off the grill food.br- So, the property can easily handle two dogs like when one is cooking food, with one on the dog run line, and one in the dog cage.br- Leash required. Pets/dogs should not be left alone inside the house. Pets/dogs should not allowed to be left alone outside of the house for very long, unless attached to the Leash line in the back yard. Deck cannot be used as a dog run or place to leave animals/dogs. Pets/dogs should not be left outside during quiet hours of 11pm - 6am.br- Plus. there is a $100 charge for droppings pickup, if not done by guest. br- Plus, there is a $100 charge for any dog hair on indoor/outdoor furniture. So, please keep dogs off of the furniture. Please vacuum off dog hair from any furniture, if dog accidentally jumps/lays on furniture.br- Plus, $500 fine if dog pees/poops inside the house, so dog never allowed to be in the house unattended.br- Plus, dog not allowed to sleep on bed or comforter. Guest must pay for new comforter, if dog hair on comforter, or comforter smells like a dog.br- Plus, additional charges for dog scratching woodwork or furniture.br- Thank you for your cooperation.brbrSome fun things to do in the area, which are unique to this area:br- The Pacific North West Trail, which follows along the Lake Koocanusa shore line. Plus, one can see the Lake from a trail at the top of the property.br- Stonehenge Air Museum, which also has a unique golf course.br- Rexford Bench Swim Beach, which also has a boat ramp with access to Lake Koocanusa and Tobacco River. Amish Built Home in West Kootenai, MT - Near Lake Koocanusa, Rexford & Eureka

Rexford, Montana, United States

A Place to Stay is simply that! A welcome respite after a long day of travel. By the time you get to the West Kootenai you will appreciate the fact that there is A Place to Stay. It's not a gorgeous, romantic hideaway or bungalow by the beach. There are no fine tapestries or linens. A Place to Stay is a simple yet comfortable place to take a load off and nestle in for a day or two while you explore the vast, beautiful wilderness of Montana. brbrA Place to Stay was purchased by the Dessaint Kimura Family in November 2011 from Pastor Andy Yoder. The home is often referred to by the community as 'The Bishop's Place'. A Place to Stay is a get away from it all; unplug, unwind and reconnect with our children and ourselves kind of place! In many big cities that just doesn't always seem possible. In the West Kootenai it definitely is!brbrA Place to Stay was originally Amish Built by a growing Amish community in the late 90's. With 6 bedrooms and over 4000 Square Feet our intent was to stay true to the original house while modernizing it just a bit. It is unique in that there is very little electricity, no flat screen tv and no central heat or air. We finally got a microwave in 2020! There are no light switches by the doors. You will see and experience some of the little things that are obviously Amish as you explore the home and surrounding areas. brbrWe are nestled between the Montana Woodworks, the Amish School House and the Kootenai Kraft & Grocery with restaurant. You are remote and at the same time in the thick of town life. One of my favorite things to see as I sit at my desk is a cowboy riding a horse while talking on his cell phone.brbrOur guests are welcome to cook at home or go next door to the restaurant to grab coffee and a meal. The store has many of the supplies you need for daily life and they serve a good meal. brbrVisiting A Place to Stay takes some strategic planning and preparation. Because we are so remote, guests will want to stop at Stein's Market in Eureka, Rosauers in Libby, or visit the Kootenai Kraft & Grocery right next door. Our guests will have full kitchen access to cook their own meals. Condiments are in the pantry! Stein's Market is a 40-minute drive, and The Kootenai Store is a 1-minute walk :) The Kootenai Store also has a restaurant and a hot pot of coffee! They are truly the 'Breakfast' to our 'Bed'. They are closed on Sundays, so stock up early!brbrOur Rooms are very unique in their simplicity. Each room is appointed in blues and greens to reflect the sky and the forest that surrounds you.brbrUsing A Place to Stay as a home base, you will find fishing, hunting, boating, biking, hiking, Glacier National Park, Eureka, Whitefish, The Yaak and Canada all within two hours of our retreat.brbrA Place to Stay is perfect for Group Retreats or Family Reunions. There are 6 bedrooms with a large shared family room and kitchen. The home is over 4000 Square feet so there is plenty of room to spread out and relax. There is one bathroom on each floor, each with a shower. Our home is often rented by the Amish community. Our 'Season' is typically May through October, weather permitting. Check-In at 4:00 p.m. and Check Out at 12:00 Noon. There is no central heat or cooling but we do have fans for warm summer days. There is minimal electricity - only 1 socket per bedroom, a bathroom socket, and a power strip to charge your electronics. Plug in the Christmas lights as a night light. Solar touch lamps on the stairs and throughout. There is some overflow living/sleeping space in the workshop by the big weeping willow tree. No running water in that outbuilding.brbr*** Bookings are not processed immediately and may take 24-48 hours to verify as I call into the Amish and wait for a callback ***brbrI can see Canada from my bedroom window!brbrbr brbrbrbr
