The Grace Bailey - Inn on the Harbor

Stonington, Maine, United States

Welcome to Inn on the Harbor - Stonington:brbrThe Grace Bailey is a cozy 1st-floor room with two twin beds, a full bath, a hairdryer, a tv with cable, free wifi, a microwave, a small fridge, and perfect sitting space and a large window overlooking stunning harbor views allowing for the ultimate peaceful oceanside relaxation. It shares a semi-private deck with the Angelique (the two rooms can be joined via double lock shared door) which allows for amble sunshine and relaxing.brbrIn 2022, after a tough pandemic, we bumped into the opportunity to purchase this “space”. We here at Ohana Inns feel that the solace, surroundings, seabreeze, harbor, vibes, schooners, lobstering, birds and lapping waves make this one of the most beautiful places on the planet. That is what we think about this space :).brbrYou’ll notice that each of the rooms is named after a schooner from the area. So each room is a little different in shape, size, decor, and view plane. They all share access to our centerpiece, which is the mass of deck overhanging the quintessential Maine harbor of Stonington.brbrWe invite you, we dare you, we hope you come down and fill your cup with the Inn on the Harbor. It’s the kind of place you’ll never forget. If you are lucky enough to live within driving distance….. you’ll be back time and time again ;).brbrAloha from our Ohana to yours!! We will see you soon at IOTH!brbrTo access the property, our team will provide you with a lock code for the electronic keypad prior to your arrival. brbrAccessibility: All of our rooms have held shower heads. Shower chairs are available but they have to be requested prior to arrival so please let us know if you need them before your check-in.brbrAt Ohana Inns, we are available 24/7 through call, text, or email.brWhen staying with us, you can expect total privacy but a quick and prompt response should you reach out.brbrHere are some good restaurants and coffee shops that you can check out: Fin and Fern, Acadia House Provisions, 44 North Coffee, Harbor Cafe, Lily`s House, and Stonecutters Kitchen. (Please check off-season schedules with each restaurant. Many places could be closed during off-season months). brbrTo do your groceries, you can go to Burnt Cove Market (about 1.5 miles away) or take a short walk to the closest market (but smaller) Harbor View Store.brbrPlease consider bringing your specialty groceries, although we feel that the Burnt Cove market does have a pretty good selection, it doesn`t have everything.brbrStonington is located on Deer Isle and can be reached by car via Route 1 from Bangor or Bar Harbor. The town has its own small airport, Stonington Municipal Airport, which offers daily service to Boston. If you`re coming from out of state, the closest airports are Bangor International Airport and Portland International Jetport. When coming to this property, guests have the option to arrive by boat or car. brbrWe recommend that guests have a personal vehicle for running errands and exploring the area, although Uber/Lyft/taxis are available. brbrThe closest airports are:brHancock County-Bar Harbor Airport (BHB / KBHB) brBangor International Airport (BGR) brAugusta State Airport (AUG) brPortland International Jetport (PWM)brbrHere you can enjoy the views, the distant foghorns, the breezes coming off of the Atlantic, the working lobster harbor right outside of your window and an authentic (not too touristy) experience. You can park the car, hop on the mail boat and hike all day on Isle Au Haut, grab some Kayaks and tool around the harbor, go see a show at the Opera House, nosh on top-rated food at the Fin and Fern, explore the quaint shops and pier and crack a nice bottle of wine on the deck at the end of the day.brbrYes, you can stay here for Acadia! Yes, it`s a little more of an arms-length from the craziness of Bar Harbor but we think it`s the perfect home base for the REAL Acadia adventure and true `Maine experience`.brbrFrom Stonington, you can still reach Mount Desert Island and the major Acadia attractions. Top-rated Puffin tours also leave from Stonington or you can explore the trails of Crockett Cove Woods or roam the art gardens of Nervous Nellies after buying some local jam. Inn On The Harbor, Open Hearth Inn, and The Gust House are all locally owned and operated by Ohana Inns. Ohana means family and when you stay with us you`ll see why we call everyone Ohana. If you have any questions about this listing or any of our other properties, inquire or call and we will make sure to find you the best spot for your vacation/adventure.brbrDOG POLICY:brbrDear Guest, brbrHere at Inn on the Harbor, we welcome your four-legged family member.
