Along with your own Private Wharf and Dock with continued water access. You have the option to dock your boat at the wharf --or-- on our harbor mooring, completely visible from the home. The wharf and a harbor mooring is quite a special package offer. Secure your boat in Friendship harbor, float a crate of lobsters at the wharf, fish from your private dock, take a guided fishing excursion or a sail, stick your toes in the ocean, jump off the float for a swim, or launch a kayak (provided by owners) to enjoy a paddle. End your day at the firepit overlooking sunsets on the water or on the expansive deck at the house. brbrAll of Maine welcomes you and the sea breeze is luring you to visit. The changing seasons provides each guest visit a chance to experience different views of the ocean to marvel over. All this is found within minutes of your Victorian.brbrThis Victorian home is full of character, originally built for $1,200 with lumber shipped from Bangor Me. You'll find plenty of space within the house. And the additions of new appliances include a stainless-steel gas stove, dishwasher and two sets of washer and dryer helps you spend more time outside. Five bedrooms provide three twin beds, two full size bed, one new queen bed and one new California King bed. New beds are included on the top floor bedrooms. Three beautiful full baths are located one on each of the three levels. A new family room has been added for the 2023 season complete with games, wet bar and refrigerator.brbrThis home provides lots of outdoor seating and is located on a large lot with an expansive lawn, The lawn is great for lawn games and even hitting a few balls into the ocean. A fifteen second walk and you reach the water. You'll find the old foundation to the boat shop still remains. Quite a special spot to appreciate a morning sunrise, a perfect sunny day, firepit and fireworks. Centrally located between Portland and Bar Harbor, Friendship is just minutes away from many of Maine's finest attractions. Our cottage is directly on the water with a private dock. The Cottage is nicely appointed with three bedrooms including a Master Bedroom with a Queen-sized bed and a sleeping loft with twin beds that your kids will just love! There is also a lower level bedroom with a full sized futon. The mattress is very high quality to assure your comfort. This bedroom also has its own full bathroom for amazing privacy in the lower level. With high ceilings and a large deck the cottage feels spacious and airy even when you have a full house! Spend your days at the cottage reading on the deck as you take in the breathtaking view while listening to the lobster boats as they haul in their catch. Take long walks or go explore surrounding islands in a kayak or take a nap while listening to the harbor seals call to one another. On a foggy day you may want to curl up in front of the fireplace with your dog sleeping by your side. Wood is provided! The more adventurous may want to spend days golfing, shopping, touring lighthouses or taking harbor cruises. The tourist towns of Rockland, Camden and Damariscotta are all just a 30-40 minute drive. Even Acadia National Park is only a two hour drive. After a long day of sightseeing, you can return to Friendship for peace and serenity.brbrNote, Friendship is a small town with one general store that was just voted the best deli in Maine! . There is one restaurant in town. But you can visit the harbor when the lobster boats are coming in and buy lobster as fresh as it gets! Unique ISLAND Living off the grid -Waterfront cottage

Do you like camping but like a little more comfort than what a tent can offer Would you like to unplug and tune out Then this is the place for you. Wake up to the sounds of Lobster boats, Osprey, Bald Eagles, Gulls, Terns, Harbor seals, Great Blue Herons, and Loons. Eat dinner on the deck overlooking the bay with spectacular western views of the sunset. These are just a few of the amazing sights and sounds you will experience while “glamping” in this cozy waterfront cottage. This is an island: no car access, no ferry (private boat only), or stores. brThe cottage has an open concept living/dining/kitchen area with woodstove (wood is provided). Cathedral ceilings fill the space with plenty of natural daylight. It has 2 bedrooms: Master with Queen bed and a second bedroom with two twin beds. All bedding is provided. There is one bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. Bath towels, toilet paper as well as bath soap and shampoo will be provided. The kitchen has a full size stove and refrigerator (both fueled by propane). All dishes, pots and pans as well as Paper towels, sugar and basic spices are provided. There is a large wrap around deck with canopy and seating for outdoor meals. Outdoor grill and lobster cooker w/propane also provided.brBring your own boat, kayak/s or sailing craft. Whether you have your own boat or not, the owners will arrange to take you across on checkin/check out day. We will have extra adult life jackets available if needed. However, if you have children in your party they must have Coast Guard approved properly fitted life jackets.brIf you trailer your own boat, there is a boat launch ramp in the Harbor that you can use. For an extra fee, 2 deep water moorings -one on the island and one in the harbor are available for off island junkets ($25/day for one or $150/week) or $35/day for both or $210/week) also the use of a small tender is available ($15/day or $100/week-on the island). If you do not have a boat we can provide transportation if we are in residence at our other cottage or provide a listing of local places that rent kayaks.brYou will need to plan your meals for your stay and bring your groceries with you. You can bring your own hotspot.brThe dock is shared with one other home, which is where the owners stay.brSwimming can be done from the private dock or almost any place along the shore, and there is a right of way access to a small beach a short walk from the cottage.brVisit the Old Quarry or take a walk to the island cemetery. There are plenty of walking trails on the island (a map will be provided). Island hopping is one of our favorite things to do, just be respectful of the environment and any private homes.brThe Town of Friendship is ideally located under an hour from many local attractions-Pemaquid Lighthouse, Port Clyde and Monhegan Island. It is a short drive to Camden, Rockport, Rockland, Damariscotta, Boothbay Harbor and Wiscasset, just to name a few…brThis is the perfect place to sit back, unwind, unplug and get away from all the distractions of everyday life. Spectacular ocean views and breathtaking sunsets are viewable from the entire house. A garden and a large grassy play area suitable for croquet or badminton extend right to the private beach. Trees offer a sense of privacy and quietness. Imagine waking up in the morning to the sweet smell of the ocean, watching lobstermen pulling up lobster traps through bedroom windows; sitting in the living room, dinning room or on the deck with delicious Maine seafood and watching serene evening sunsets. Exploring the rocky shoreline, sea kayaking, strolling on the public beach or joining the community house music gathering are a few activities characteristic of the immediate local area. Friendship affords good access to Camden, Boothbay, Pemaquid, Freeport or more distant attractions like Bar Harbor and northern lake regions.brbrbrActivities/Attractions in the Immediate Area: Swimming, canoeing or sea kayaking right from our private beach area. The grassy play ground beside the beach is suitable for croquet/badminton. Each August (first or second Saturday) there is a regatta called the Chowder Cup in Friendship. This is an event that anyone with a sailboat may race in. You can sit back under the shade on our property or right on our private beach enjoying the race. It is really a fun to watch all kind of boats with variety of different sails racing by. Friends and neighbors, small boats and big boats, experienced sailors and novices all go. They race against each other and also trying to get around all of the working lobster boats as well. The Community House and the Long Beach are within walking distance from Afterglow. In summer season, visitors, friends and neighbors gather together with music, variety of delicious food and games at the Community House. Long Beach is a beautiful public beach enjoyable for jogging and seeing the famous Friendship Sloops.brbrActivities/Attractions in 5 min. Driving Distance : Friendship Harbor is a beautiful working harbor. You can choose your own lobsters at the Harbor straight from the water they were living in. Nothing can be as fresh as this! Friendship Day is held on last Saturday of July each year. This year it is on July 31st and starts at 6:30 am with a 1-5K foot race followed with a pancake breakfast, parade, musical entertainment, children’s activities, contests, craft fair, softball games, fresh lobster rolls, clam chowder, Lobster Boat Races, food/bake sales, the famous Friendship auction and fireworks. The Friendship Museum located in the “Old Brick” schoolhouse offers the community a variety of events throughout the year on topics related to the history and traditions of Friendship. In the summer, it offers trips to places of scenic and historical interest and participates in Friendship’s annual community-wide celebration. Friendship Public Library is affiliated with the State of Maine library system and contains 18413 volumes in collection.brbrActivities/Attractions in 10 min. Driving Distance: The Waldo Theater in Waldoboro, designed by Benjamin Schlanger in 1930s with an Art Deco interior and a facade done in Greek revival style, is renowned for its wonderful acoustics and features a variety of performing arts, live entertainment and classic movies. The Old German Church, another historical masterpiece, is believed to be the oldest church in Maine. Welcome to Shepherd’s Cove – a modern, quiet, beautiful place to get away for a fun and a relaxing vacation, family reunion, unforgettable fall getaway, or sabbatical season.brThis waterfront property with main house and separate guest cottage is located on an ocean cove on 5 ½ acres of wooded land on the little-traveled Bradford Point peninsula. It has a 650 foot-long driveway leading down to a large parking area for up to five cars and to the family compound. brbrThe family compound consists of two separate buildings- a large, three-story main house and a smaller, fully contained guest cottage named Pooh. The main house has four large bedrooms (one with a king size Sleep Number bed) and two baths and can sleep eight; Pooh has a one bedroom and a loft, a full bath and can handle up to six persons. Maximum total guests for the compound at one time is limited to 10 persons. There is an extra fee of $500 for the guest cottage Pooh.brbr The main house is 75 feet from the ocean with 400’ of waterfront access. It is a modern, four-season, fully insulated, heated home with a large living area with a cathedral ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows and hardwood floors throughout. The master bedroom is located on the main floor and the second large bedroom is upstairs. The lower walk-out level has two separate bedrooms, each with two twin beds, both with great ocean views. It has a fully applianced kitchen including a dishwasher and trash compactor, a downstairs laundry with washer and dryer, a dining area that seats up to to eight, an activities loft with a cathedral ceiling for family game/puzzle addicts. The large outdoor deck overlooking the ocean cove has a dining table with six comfortable chairs and a sun umbrella. There is also a large hammock overlooking the ocean.brbr“Pooh”, the smaller cottage, is decorated with charming beach side decor and is also a completely modern, four-season heated house with one bedroom that sleeps two, a full bathroom with shower, an open loft that can sleep three, a fully-equipped kitchen and a living area with pull-out sofa-bed. Pooh can sleep a total of six guests. French doors lead out to a deck overlooking the ocean.brbrIn the fall, it is often so quiet that you can hear an oak leaf fall off of a tree. In the summer and early fall, sitting on the front deck, you will enjoy cool ocean breezes. Shepherd’s Cove is near enough that you can walk to the small town of Friendship or to the lobster dock, yet far enough to be an isolated, private retreat. On occasion you may see wildlife including turkey, deer, fox, and a variety of beautiful birds, sometimes eagles.
