Livingston, Montana, United States

We keep our prices low so that people can afford to stay in this beautiful place. If you are looking for an affordable glamping spot - this is it! The Bird House (BH) is a cute apartment above an art studio/workshop in the beautiful Paradise Valley - 30 minutes from the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park.brbrIMPORTANT - the guest house does NOT HAVE AN INDOOR SHOWER. It has 12 steps to access the living space. We do have a gorgeous outdoor shower. We are also only 8 minutes from Chico Hot Springs, we offer our guests Chico tokens (one per person/one time only) for the natural hot springs pool and shower, if our outdoor shower is not available due to weather. brbrThe BH has a small kitchen area with a hotplate, three options for a coffee maker, a toaster, and a refrigerator, as well as a small BBQ grill outside. In the bathroom is a sink and a toilet. brbrThe Bird House has an adorable main room, filled with original art, books, TV, and internet. There is a queen-sized bed with luxurious bedding, and also a single bed. (We also have a double blow-up mattress if needed.) The occupancy of the Birdhouse is 3-4 people. brbrThe windows look directly out at beautiful Chico Peak, and just a little further south is Emigrant Peak. Both peaks are framed in the window directly across from the bed. It is located in a small, extremely quiet neighborhood with close proximity to Mill Creek and the Yellowstone River. We have an outside grill and picnic table for your use. brbrRight behind the BH is a large organic garden, and we are happy to share veggies and flowers with our guests when available and in season. There is available parking right at the entrance to the BH alongside the steps. Please don't block the driveway. brbrPLEASE NOTE THE APARTMENT IS UP A FLIGHT OF 12 STAIRS. It has solar lighting for night arrival. We live on the property, but our many guests over the years have assured us that it is a quiet, comfortable, private space. brbrIt does take a certain kind of guest to appreciate this cozy apartment with its lack of an indoor shower. However, our guests seem to love the shower!brbrWe are very close to several great places to eat:brChico Hot Springs (4stars), Sage Lodge, The Old Saloon, Follow Yer Nose BarBQ, Wildflour Bakery, The Outpost, and Yellowstone Valley Grill. You are also about 15 minutes from Livingston, MT (north) and 20 minutes from Gardiner, MT (south). We have plenty of music venues near us if you are looking for nightlife. Check out websites for Pine Creek, Chico, the Old Saloon, and Sage Lodge.brbrWho are we Both of us are retired career Park Service employees. brIf you have pet(s), talk to us first. We love animals, but many people have allergies; there is a small additional cleaning fee of $10/night. brbrWe sometimes offer river shuttles if we are available, so ask us about that as well.brbrIf you add a guest or have more than 4 in your party, there will be an extra night charged. Please, no drugs, no smoking, no fighting, or loud nightlife. Our guests tell us that they have the most restful, quiet sleep at our place. brbrWhen you leave, we ask you to strip your beds, empty and take all garbage with you. The closest dumpster is south of us on East River Road at the Chico green boxes. If this is a problem, talk with us about a trip to the dumpsters. Sometimes you can throw it in the back of our truck.brbr*Note, Our place consists of 2 yellow (winter wheat) stucco structures with red metal roofs, and we are the 2nd place (right) on Cedar Lane. We are br16 CEDAR LANE. Arrival time is 4:00 pm. The Bird House will be open and ready for you. Please drive in with caution, as the two golden doodles that serve as greeters may be outside. It sits atop a hill that overlooks town but is still just a few blocks from Main Street and the historic downtown. We always recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle for traveling to Bozeman (25 minutes) and Yellowstone National Park (50 minutes). In town, you are a 5-10 minute walk to the heart of downtown Livingston, a 10 minute walk to the Northside Soccer Complex and the Yellowstone River near Sacajawea Park and the Lagoon. Lively western bars and microbreweries dot the picturesque downtown. Various bands from all over the country liven up the night giving listeners a choice of what music they'd like to listen or dance to. Two live theaters, casinos, movie house, and bowling alley (only open in the fall, winter and spring months) add to the nightlife options. There are often music events and festivals held in and around the area, including a Farmers Market during the summer (every Wednesday afternoon), various live music festivals, rodeos, and the annual Livingston Round Up 4th of July events.brbrDaytime activities include shopping at many of the boutique and specialty shops downtown, some with history back to the 1930's. Recreationally, there are endless hiking/biking opportunities in the Livingston Area, as well as world-renowned fly fishing, adding to one of the many reasons that Livingston is also headquarters to the International Fly Fishing Federation. Swimming pool (and local swimming holes in the river), golf course, art galleries and museums prove that there is something for everyone in Livingston.brbrThe home is in very close proximity to many other attractions beyond the city limits. Only 50 minutes from the main entrance of Yellowstone National Park, it's no wonder that Livingston is called the original gateway to Yellowstone.

Yellowstone River, Paradise Valley..Yellowstone National Park…world class views!

Livingston, Montana, United States

**Official Cancellation Policy (VRBO template will not allow this option)brYou may cancel at any time and receive a full refund AS long as I am able to re rent your stay. We encourage you to obtain travel insurance which can be obtained for a very reasonable cost. Csatravelinsurance.com is just one of many companies that offer this insurance.brbrThis 4000 square foot home sits on the Yellowstone River in the true heart of the aptly named Paradise Valley, right along the “Miracle Mile” between Mill Creek and Pine Creek. There are truly no better views of Paradise Valley than those enjoyed from this home. Even old time native Montanans rave about the views from the backyard. A quick 30-minute drive to Yellowstone National Park to the south, 15 minutes to the genuine small-town feel of Livingston to the north and 35 minutes to Bozeman.brbrFive bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths await you, but the living space is done no justice by such a simple description. The huge master (over 500 square feet, with king bed) has a spacious sitting area with a pair of indoor chaise lounges to enjoy that book and the views away from the kids, but still able to view them playing in the gorgeously grassy backyard. brbrThe two remaining upstairs bedrooms, both decorated with brand new furniture suites, one king, one queen with European bedding. These two bedrooms share a full bath loaded with such nice touches as ample, new, plush towels and a few toiletries to make you feel at home immediately.brbrThe fully-finished downstairs has yet another newly-furnished bedroom, with queen bed and Swedish-country styling. A short walk away is the gigantic “bunkroom,” featuring three double beds, individual nightstands, and its own sitting area with sofa and loveseat.brbrTo make sure every beautiful Montana day is followed by a great night’s sleep, all the home’s mattresses are brand-new Sealy Posturpedic; each topped by a fluffy down comforter.brbr[Here's a clarification of our maximum occupancy: if the group is all adults, the maximum occupancy is 11. Green Acres Lodge may accommodate up to 14 total people, but only if 6 of them are children small enough (and willing enough!) to share the 3 full-size beds found in the bunkroom. These limits assure your comfort...]brbrSo you feel that you “lose your own space” while on vacation Well, no worries here! There are huge living areas on both floors!brbrUpstairs is a large living area with commanding, breath-taking views of the Yellowstone River and the 12,000 foot Absaroka Mountains. And for your after-dark entertainment, there is a TV with YouTube TV and DVD. A massive stone wood-burning fireplace completes the area. brbrLike to eat some meals more casually, and others more formally Or perhaps separate the kids from the adults No problem! A dining room area, complete with new, Swedish contemporary dining suite to seat ten and an equally new Swedish country breakfast nook table to seat six flank the upstairs kitchen. Fully stocked with 15 sets of dishes, multiple glassware styles, and flatware, the kitchen shows that we keep our renters in mind. brbrA stocked spice cupboard, specialty cooking tools, multiple pots and pans, and knives that actually cut can make your in-home meals fun. And everything from placements to cloth napkins and napkin rings to glass candlesticks mean a romantic meal is well within reach, despite being in the heart of Yellowstone Country.brbrPrefer to cook outdoors There’s also an oversized gas barbecue grill on the deck with a table to enjoy a dinner or drinks with the ultimate view. brbrBut wait, there’s more!brbrDownstairs is a second living area with two full-size couches for extra space to “get away” with it’s own flat screen TV. But what’s that behind one of those sofas A dartboard! And beyond A pool table, with plenty of seating (from comfy wingbacks, to “ready-for-my-next-shot” upholstered stools) for participants and spectators alike.brbrWhile the thought of you spending a single minute attending to business makes us want to rescue you, we recognize that communications continuity is sometimes a necessity, even while in Paradise. We offer unlimited high-speed internet access (wired in one upstairs bedroom, wireless throughout the house).brbrAn extensive professional landscape surrounds the home, with 10,000 square feet of luxurious sod to take that nap while listening to the river. A regulation horseshoe pit provides old-time fun while you take in the views.brbrWe know the little things can really make a difference...so, there'sbra cooler and daypack for your excursions, a popcorn popper for staying in, simple games and toys for the little ones, and books to read--from fiction to local area lore and guides, to literature. brbrWalk right down to the river to fish... some of the best fishing on the Yellowstone is right from this home (JT has personally caught 15 trout in an hour here). brbrYellowstone National Park is only a 30-minute drive away, short enough for day trips, so you can enjoy your home away from home every evening... it stays light until 10:00pm here in the summer!brbrLocated five miles from world-famous Chico Hot Springs with live music every weekend and the best restaurant in all of Montana. Head 15 miles into historic Livingston with art galleries and restaurants galore.
