BISON HALLOW on the YELLOWSTONE RIVERFRONT

Gardiner, Montana, United States

Enjoy the relaxing sounds of the waterfall across from the cabin that flows year-round and the Yellowstone River as it meanders past the Bison Hallow. Located only 300 yards from the border to Yellowstone National Park and 4.5 miles from the town of Gardiner/the Roosevelt Arch at the north entrance. The spacious patio offers a beautiful setting to take in the mountain views while reminiscing about the days adventures. With a gas grill and seating for all 8 - it is the perfect place to establish base camp for your Yellowstone vacation.brbrThe cabin has two bedrooms with 4 commercial queen beds. Each bedroom has a private ensuite (full) bathroom. The Bison Hallow is cozy and beautifully decorated with a theme honoring the great American icon, the Sacred Bison. brbrEach year Yellowstone National Park culls up to 900 bison – this sad event (which involves treaty rights) allows men to line up on the road, shoot entire herds – even heavily pregnant females that are ready to drop newborn calves within 30-120 days. If you chose to walk the field cross the gravel road – please carry bear spray and pay your respects to the fallen. You’ll find several bones in the bison graveyard….brbrWe do occasionally see bears, mountain lions, wolves, bison and rattlesnakes on the property and we frequently have deer and elk - especially in the spring and fall. The property does have exterior cameras to for the protection and safety of our property and guests. Many times the elk will eat right outside the patio and bed down for the day. Please do not approach or feed any of the wildlife. You should always maintain 25 yards distance between elk, deer & bison and 100 yards from bears, wolves and mountain lions.

Mobile: (406) 579-4622; Kelleher_jennifer@hotmail.combrA year-round vacation rental, located just outside Gardiner, Montana. This beautifully decorated, cozy cabin is located near the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park on the banks of the Yellowstone River. Enjoy and explore a totally unique part of the world with family and friends while staying in cabin #4 which is a perfect destination for you in southwest Montana. 2 bedroom/2bath.brbrbrKeywords: Cabin, Yellowstone river, Yellowstone National Park, North Entrance to Yellowstone, Gardiner, Montana, Paradise Valley, Mammoth, Yellowstone, Wildlife, Electric Peak, Hiking, raftingbrbrOne of my favorite reviews this season;brJennifer,brThanks again for let us stay at your cabin during this crazy, COVID summer. What a treat. We were looking for a road trip get away with the family, and Montana sure did the trick. Your cabin (Yellowstone River Cabin #4) was perfect for our family of four. The bedrooms are nice and spacious. We loved the cozy king-sized bed, and the kids loved that they got to sleep in their own big beds and didn’t mind sharing a room (which is a good thing with a teenaged boy and tween girl)!brbrYou’ve decorated the cabin perfectly for those wanting a true Montana/Yellowstone experience. And your collection of stories and articles about the Yellowstone Park and its history were wonderful to read after spending a day in the Park. We all learned something new! And the book on grizzly bears came in handy, as we were lucky enough to have a grizzly visitor every night in front of the cabin!!! Before you freak out, he never came near the cabins, he was across the way on the island in the middle of the river. Thankfully, he was focused on dining on the elk carcass in front of him, and not the spectators across the river. I snapped this photo of Henry down at the river’s edge before I made him come back up the bank…he was too close; I would not recommend doing that!! But again, what a treat for all of us staying in the Yellowstone River Cabins, we made it an evening ritual before dusk with folks in the other cabins to watch the bear over a glass of wine. A fun way to meet people from all over who were coming out to Montana for the same experiences as we were. We all compared notes from our daily adventures and animal sightings.brbrThe cabin is in such a great spot. We enjoyed the beautiful views of the Yellowstone River from your back porch (love the chairs!), and access to Gardiner and the YNP entrance was extremely easy. Gardiner is such a cute little town, we walked into all the shops, and even ate out for a couple of meals during COVID – I would recommend the Wonderland Café and Yellowstone Grill for breakfast/lunch. We didn’t eat out for dinner at all because we didn’t want to miss the bear siting! J Unfortunately, the day before we left there was a big fire in Gardiner and a couple of the businesses we had popped into earlier that day were burned. I had just taken this photo of Kelly that day in front of the Blue Goose Saloon. So sad to see those historic buildings destroyed.brbrWe can’t express enough how much we enjoyed our trip and our time at your cabin. It had all the comforts of home, but it wasn’t home, which is exactly what we were looking for! We will definitely be back – but hopefully with a siting of you - and your kids! For me that was all that was missing with my Montana trip.brbrHere's a link to some of our favorite photos - (let me know if it doesn't work - https://photos.app.goo.gl/GbdUfycXJRCnBdpKbrKristin, Scott, Henry & Kelly DanfordbrDenver, CObrYellowstone River Cabin #4 stay – July 12-15, 2020brbr
