It can also bring the sounds of the hustle and bustle of the street in front of the home.brbrThe guest manual/house manual has a lot of useful information to include local trails, resource guides, restaurants, WiFi info, etc. it is located inside the home and we ask that you review it, as it helps answer some of the most commonly asked questions about our home and area. brbrThis home has a boiler/radiator heat (operated by the Nest thermostat in the living room). There is also a mini-split unit in the dining room that is used for AC and for additional heat if needed. This rustic lodge is located on the iconic Colorado Jeep Tours property just West of Canon City on Hwy 50 in the heart of the Royal Gorge Region. Just a half a mile from the Royal Gorge bike and hike trail system that runs 22 miles mostly along the Arkansas River which happens to be the most rafted river in the United States. Historic downtown with local cuisine and shopping including the Historical Royal Gorge Route Railroad is all just minutes away. And the World famous Royal Gorge Bridge and Park turn off is just 6.5 miles down the road. You can’t beat the location as everything is within a 10 minute drive. brbrThe spacebrbrThe comfy lodge was remodeled, has new furniture, and is ready with all the amenities of home including a massive covered back patio great for cooking out and having dinner or just sitting back and reading a book. The private back patio has plenty of room to keep your recreational equipment secure and out of the elements, including a bike rack and towels to wipe down your bikes and kayaks. The front patio is a great place to enjoy morning coffee or an evening night cap while soaking in the great views of Fremont Peak sitting at the propane fire pit table. Each of the three bedrooms has a queen bed and ample room to unpack your belongings. The dining room and living room have large windows with views of Fremont Peak and the zen garden. The kitchen has a farm look with modern appliances including a microwave, dishwasher, and oven. brbrGuest accessbrEntire upper level, front & back patio, and garden area. Plenty of private off street parking. brbrOther things to notebrbrExterior Security Cameras are in place for your security. It’s a wonderful place to escape to, hang out and catch up on a little R&R. But, if you’re looking for a little more fun, You are just minutes from downtown and all our town’s amenities. Canon City hosts many restaurants, breweries, wineries , grocery stores, Walmart and a movie theater. Old downtown offers many unique, one of a kind shops. We have several city parks for families to enjoy, one has a splash pad for water fun! The Royal Gorge, which is America’s highest suspension bridge, is 15 minutes away. The Royal Gorge train is minutes from the house and ushers you up the floor of the canyon. You can take a helicopter tour, raft down the Arkansas river, rent a Segway, ride the zip line or go to the dinosaur museum which are all local attractions. Our golf course is 15 minutes away. For the Antique lover, Florence is 15 minutes away and is filled with Antique stores and specialty shops. Colorado Springs is an hour drive and opens up all the attractions a big city has to offer. It is the home of the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the Airforce Academy, the Olympic training center, the Broadmoor Hotel and much more. You can drive up Pikes Peak which is over 14,000 feet in elevation and ride the Cog railway at the top. For you skiers who love the snow Monarch Ski Area is about 90 minutes away.
