A 5 Star3 BR Luxury Log Cabin, Overlooking RMNP only 20 minutes from Estes Park
Allenspark, Colorado, United States
Our cabin is a perfect relief where at home; it's been over 90 degrees for the last month. Stay at our cabin in the Rocky Mountains, which has perfect “sleeping weather.” Our summers have daily temperatures in the 70s and cool nights in the 50s. brbrOver the last two years, we have received 27 consecutive 5-star reviews; in the previous five years, 99 of our 107 guests gave us 5-star reviews. They appreciate the tranquility of the location, the ease of getting to RMNP, the spectacular views of the continental divide, the quality of the property, and the experiences for all ages, from kids to seniors. We have the quiet of the mountains, abundant wildlife, including moose and Elk, and a high-quality, well-furnished, cozy cabin on 5 acres of land.brbrOur property on Coyote Hill consists of a three-bedroom luxury log cabin overlooking RMNP with spectacular panoramic views for miles across the Continental Divide. Concerned about COVID-19, our cabin is completely secluded from other travelers or rental properties. You can be completely isolated or enjoy the RMNP / Estes Park attractions. Over the last five years, our property has been rated exceptional for its quiet seclusion and luxury features. On-site family and kids activities and easy access to Estes Park and RMNPbrbrThis is the place if you are looking for safe and quiet solitude that settles the soul and easy 20-minute access to Estes Park. Our cabin is 13 miles south of Estes Park on a private road on Coyote Hill. Most days, one or two cars might pass by our cabin, which is 3/4 mile up a private road. See the walkthrough video in the photo section. brbrThis year, many families are looking to take a combination staycation where they can get away but still have access via wifi for work and Zoom classes. Fully equipped with a new Star-link/ SpaceX high speed 100-250MB internet / WIFI for video, zoom, or business communications. We have several areas, including the living room desk /office area with an all-in-one Canon color printer/ copier where you can get away to do work while the family is enjoying themselves: relaxing with a book on the decks in the hot tub, with extensive kids playground activities, or exploring the 5 acres of our cabin's private property. brbrIt is more of a mountain home than a cabin. It has an open floor plan recently updated with refinished pegged hardwood floors, a kitchen, a dining area, and a great room. For sleeping, it has three bedrooms and a living room (completely separate from the great room) with a wood-burning sandstone fireplace, a cozy living room with a high-quality inflatable hide-a-bed, a rocking chair, a desk and printer for work, and bookcases. The entire cabin is furnished in a high-quality manner, including original art, oriental rugs, and several handcrafted pieces of furniture. It has great southern and western views of RMNP's Wild Basin. It sleeps nine people and includes all of the modern conveniences. brbrMany kids' amenities include a treehouse with a slide and firepole pole, a playhouse, a sandbox, and swings. We have seven grandkids, and they all love it. View the kid's zip line called the "Flying Chicken," made for kids under 100# so they can get off and on by themselves. The location is perfect for hiking and relaxing. You will have close access to Rocky Mountain National Park and its wide range of activities. Enjoy cocktails around the wood fire pit and watch the stars or sunrise while relaxing in the hot tub. Many wildlife, including birds and small animals, frequently visit. Moose and Elk often pay a visit. It is surrounded on three sides by large decks overlooking the continental divide.brThe solid log cabin sits on 5 acres. It has hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings with distressed cypress paneling. There are great views from every room. You will see the sunrise or sunset over Mount Meeker as you look out the large windows in the family room from the kitchen. brbrThere are three bedrooms with high-quality queen-sized beds. The master bedroom has a handmade log bed, new mattress, skylight, private deck, and full bath. The second and third bedrooms also have vaulted ceilings, large log purloins, and mountain views. In addition to a queen bed, the third bedroom has a single bed perfect for a child. The second and third bedrooms share a bathroom and shower. There is a high-quality queen-sized adjustable /inflatable hide-a-bed in the living room. brbrThe cabin was completely remodeled in 2000 and updated in 2019 with high-quality furnishings (including several handcrafted pieces), art, and modern appliances, including a gas range, a microwave dishwasher, a side-by-side refrigerator with water and ice dispenser in the door, a trash compactor, and filtered water at the sink and refrigerator. The kitchen cabinets are maple with granite tile countertops and backsplashes. brbrThe kitchen is fully equipped with all the expected hand appliances: toasters, blenders, toaster-oven, crockpot, electric frypan, coffee grinder, coffee maker, and a full spice assortment. The cabin also has a stacked Whirlpool Duet front-loading washer, dryer, and detergent to handle your laundry needs. brbrFor entertainment, there is a 40 'Sony Plasma TV. We installed the new Starlink (Spacex) high-speed Internet, ROKU, with all major channels, including Netflix, Amazon, Disney Plus/ Expn Plus, and YouTube. The audio system is connected via Bluetooth to your iPhone player (Pandora/ Spotify) access to the sound system with multiple BOSE speakers both in and outside on the deck and hot tub. This area has no direct cell service, but you should be able to connect your iPhone via WIFI, depending on your network carrier. br brWith 900 S/F of decks surround the cabin with log railings for relaxing outdoors. On the main deck is a sandstone wood-burning fire pit to keep you warm while you have a glass of wine, watch the sun go down, and enjoy your favorite music from Bose speakers over the deck. There is a smaller deck off the master bedroom where you can get away to read a book and view cabin rock to the north.brbrWe have installed a high-end Jacuzzi 6 person Hot Tub with a range of features, including music at one end of the deck with great views of the mountains perfect for watching the sunset, listening to your favorite music through Bose speakers mounted near the Hot tub, and on the deck, or having a cup of coffee as the sun rises in the morning, causing Mount Meeker to glow a fantastic shade of pink. brbrOur cabin is equipped for our seven grandchildren, with swings and a playhouse cabin for smaller kids. Older kids will enjoy the incredible treehouse with a 16-foot slide, fire pole, tire swing, and tree swing. There is an old foundation with logs and lumber where older kids make huts (no tools needed). We even have a "Kids 100" zip line they can operate by themselves called the "Flying Chicken Express," where they can get on and off with our help. All but the zip line of the kid's play activities are within 30 feet of the front deck. brbrThere are about 20 cabins on our private road with no full-time residents. Most days, you will see only a car or two passing the cabin. Our property is adjacent to a 2,000-acre Boulder open space that will never be developed, so hiking is just up the hill. brThe cabin is very close (five miles) to the less crowded Wild Basin entrance to RMNP, where a short hike will take you to Calypso cascades and waterfall. Several longer, more challenging hikes are also options from this entrance. brbrThe Meeker Park Lodge and Stables are only three miles away for horseback riding. (Meeker Park Lodge is over 90 years old and was run up until last year by the original family. It is open between Memorial Day and October.) There is also horseback riding in Allenspark (five miles away) and the Aspen Lodge (5 miles away).brbrOne of our cabin's great features is easy access to Estes Park without the traffic and congestion of an Estes Park location. For more, at a slower pace, visit Allenspark (5 miles), which has several restaurants, including a new Rock Creek tavern for pizza and Meadow Mountain Cafe for big mountain breakfasts and healthy lunches. The Ferncliff Grocery is available as well as the Meeker Park Lodge Store for Milk and Bread (June to Oct) brbrThe cabin is 13 miles south of Estes Park, so you are only 20 minutes away from the many attractions of Estes Park, including the main entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and the world-famous Trail Ridge Road (the highest continuously paved highway in the US). The drive over Trail Ridge Road is an incredible day drive, passing over the 12,880-foot-high continental divide to Grand Lake and back. To minimize park congestion, they have implemented a timed entry process to ensure everyone can enjoy the park without overly large crowds. brbrEstes Park has many attractions, including golf, shopping, medical facilities, and weekend festivals, including the Longs Peak Scottish Highland Festival and the Elk Fest in the fall. You will probably see more Elk in Estes Park than elsewhere in Colorado. For kids, check out the Big Slide amusement park for lots of rides and fun. There is also great miniature golf outside Estes (Estes Park Ride A Cart has two excellent courses). Estes Park Golf Course is a tremendous public 18-hole course on the way to Estes. br
