Walks through the neighborhood give you a feel or being on a nice hike with great views and surrounded by trees. Houses in the neighborhood are roughly on 1 acre each. Noise can travel far so please be mindful of noise and respect the community as a lot of homes here are residences that work during the weekdays. A portion of the neighborhood, including us, is on a dirt road and can be steep at times, so please be prepared with 4WD or AWD to get around. Deer, fox, bear, moose, mountain lions, and other animals can be spotted from time to time. Please do not interact with the wildlife but enjoy it safely indoors.brbrGetting Around:br4WD or AWD is required in this area, and during months of November-April it is recommended to have snow tires. Our driveway is long so you can't see the house from the main road. Be on the lookout for our address sign on the driveway entrance attached to a tree. Maps will pinpoint you to the entrance too. 2 cars fit comfortable next to the house and a 3rd can fit up higher on the driveway but that is the max.brbrOther Things to Note:brWe are up in the mountains and on dirt roads with areas that have steeper than normal inclines, so please proceed with caution. AWD/4WD is required year round and during November-April snow tires are strongly recommended. Our driveway can be difficult to turnaround in if there are multiple cars so plan accordingly. 2 cars can easily fit. 3 would be max.brbrWe do provide snow removal in the winter months and do our very best to maintain it but with unpredictable weather and winds, we cannot guarantee the drive-way will be completely cleared prior to your arrival. Please come prepared. This means hiking shoes or snow boots with good footing. We do provide snow shovels for guests to use for light snow or in-between snow plows, as well as Ice melt. If you do not have experience in these elements or not comfortable to potentially deal with snow, this might not be the rental for you. A AWD/4WD wheel drive is not necessary to reach our cabin (we drive a non-AWD/4WD sedan to get there). brbr- However all weather or snow tires are required if there is snow or ice on the ground. (These should come standard on any vehicle rented in Colorado during the winter.)(For those driving in from warmer climates - all weather tires are not the same as all season tires. All weather tires have more traction.) The weather in Colorado can be unpredictable. It is possible to have snow and ice as early as October and as late as May (though it is most common to see snow December-March, with episodes of snow in November and April). The roads are well plowed because we're on a school bus line, and fully paved. But the road up is winding with multiple switchbacks, so you will want to drive up and down slowly and at times there may be snow and ice that remains on the road even after plowing. brbr-No gatherings or parties.brbr-Note that there is absolutely no smoking inside AND/OR outside the house or anywhere on the property (due to high wildfire risk). Any sort of smoking will result in a $500 fee and immediate removal from the property. brbr-Our cabin is a 15 minute winding, scenic drive up through National Park land (that's how we get the views and the peaceful no highway noise vibes), so some guests like to stop for supplies before making their way up the mountain.brbr-One side of our backyard and one side of the lower patio has a severe drop-off. Great for privacy, but could be a safety issue for young children! brbr-Not all furniture is child-safed (secured to the wall).brbr-The backyard Fire Pit and BBQ grill run on propane. Absolutely no wood burning or charcoal burning anywhere on the property or on the mountain due to wildfire risk. brbr-Well behaved dogs welcomed for an additional fee (make sure to add in a pet when you request to book) Undeclared pets will incur an additional $250 fee. brbr-Must be at least 27 years of age to book.brbr-Our (relatively short) driveway is professionally plowed only if there is more than 3-5 inches of snow. brbr| Guest access | brbrGuests have the entire house including the double private backyard decks with mountain views. Several closets are locked for staff use only. brbrThere is a separate detached garage located 20 feet in front of the house that includes a garage guest suite that is not included in this reservation. The garage and garage suite are not included in your reservation. The garage suite could potentially be owner occupied for part of your stay. You always have full privacy and separation with the whole house, private backyard, and 6 person hot tub. brbr| Other things to note | brbrAs required by our insurance, we have a security camera facing the front door and driveway only. There is also a camera inside the garage (the garage is not included in your reservation). If the camera is de-activated, we are required to send someone out immediately to re-activate it. The camera is not monitored but will be actively recording during the guests entire stay.

We have a steep, narrow driveway, but plenty of room in the parking area. Enter the space next to the right by the log fence and go down the flight of curved stairs to the lower level. Walk across the lower deck where you can access the walkout basement apartment through the portico with glass door, next to the carved tree.brbrUse keypad to enter into large bedroom with one king size bed and one twin daybed with a pullout twin trundle (total of two twin beds). Large closet area, curtain room divider, private bathroom with tub/ shower. Big screen smart TV with Firestick, wall heater/ faux fireplace, electric baseboard heater with thermostat.
