Allenspark, Colorado
Ruby's Retreat is a two-story mountain home. It is located on one acre of level land, surrounded by trees, native wildflowers and wildlife. We do have neighbors who also have 1-5 acres of land, with one next door neighbor who helps with the managing and maintaining the property and assisting guests when needed. The interior is furnished in a western, rustic, mountain décor theme, with lodge-pole furniture. A queen size bed is in the master bedroom. Twin beds are in the upstairs, finished loft. A queen size sleeper sofa is in the great room, which has a cathedral ceiling with exposed beams. A propane fireplace and recliner chair are also in the Great Room. It has a fully furnished kitchen, with stove, oven, frig, microwave, pots and pans, coffee maker, crock pot and blender. The one bathroom is located on the main floor. Fresh linens and towels are provided. Outside, the back deck provides mountain views; a patio table and four chairs and a two-seat glider. The back deck also has a propane grill for your use. The covered front porch provides additional mountain views, enjoyed from a porch swing. There is internet connection at this location. A land-line phone is available. Depending on your provider, there is limited cell phone reception at this mountain location.
What a truly beautiful experience. Simple cabin that was clean and well cared for. Kind welcoming owner who gave us so much helpful tips on visits the area. We would love to come again and again and again
The cabin was perfect for our family! It was so close to the RMNP Wild Basin entrance which let us get a great early morning start for our hikes! It was also close to Estes Park and the bear lake entrance that we went in several times. We frequented the Crystal Spring in Allenspark and there was a little store for any forgotten necessities right there as well. The cabin was super clean and the kids loved the loft area which was perfect for them! Definitely recommend this cabin for families (or anyone) looking for a home base for RMNP adventures!
Great cabin for a Colorado vacation to Rocky Mountain National park. Was close to the park while being able to be a way from the crowds of Estes Park. Would highly recommend staying here.
This place was very nice. The property accomodations matched the listing. It was enjoyable and quiet and thrb
So pros: amazingly quiet , serene and naturally pretty location; everything was very clean ; decor was old school but quite charming in its own way- takes you back to simpler times ; Cons: no air conditioning and even with the windows wide open , the bedrooms ( both master and loft ) were very warm and stuffy several of the days we stayed ( we did find A small fan in the bedroom closet after a few days but it was not very strong or helpful ; also no washing machine or dishwasher , had to haul our own trash most days ( one day a guy came by to get it but we had already had to rage care of it on our own by then ) and the shower and kitchen sink had super low water pressure -so housework took longer than when I’m not on vacation…. however for the price ( lower than most competitors) , all in all, a good value and a pleasant stay ;
Great location. Bad phone service and a little rough with 1 bathroom but both of those issues we had been aware of. Strategic planning put to the test?.
My family had a fantastic stay! The property was a great location if you want to explore both RMNP and the national forest. It was nice to be out of the business of Estes park. The house exceeded expectations. I feel like it was even larger than pictures made it look. My daughter (3) loved it! The toys In the upstairs loft were a nice touch. We would definitely stay there again!
We chose to stay in Allenspark to avoid the crowds and hassles of Estes Park, but still be close to RMNP. We were very happy with our decision and this cabin was a major reason. It was extremely clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped and stocked with some basics. Ie. salt, pepper, coffee, tea, napkins, etc. The location was good, neighborhood was quite. Front porch swing was perfect for relaxing. And if you want to hike, travel a half mile up the road and you are in Roosevelt National Forest with some scenic hiking trails.
This was my third stay, and it will not be my last. The cabin is cozy and it's situated in the perfect area. It is close enough to bigger towns with shops, etc. but it's also far enough away from the higher traffic tourist areas to feel like you are truly tucked away in your own, secluded mountain oasis. Ted is a wonderful host who has always been available if needed for any questions that may come up.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Ruby's Retreat! The location was great, we liked being close to Estes Park while still being far enough to avoid the traffic and crowd in town. We also liked the quick access to both the National Park and National Forest up the road. The house was clean, looked like the pictures and the owner was very responsive to questions that I had prior to the trip. My kids enjoyed the toys and watching movies on the VCR. They have started talking about our next vacation to the mountains and want to stay here again!
