HIGHTIDE! A waterfront downeast retreat adjacent to West Quoddy Head State Park

Lubec, Maine, United States

HighTide (https://www.quoddy.house/hightide) is a small waterfront retreat located on West Quoddy Head, overlooking South Lubec Bay and Campobello Island. It is the most eastern private property in the continental United States, and is immediately adjacent to West Quoddy State Park with its iconic lighthouse and extensive hiking trails. Nestled in the woods on the eastern side of the 26 acre 1840’s Quoddy House estate (https://www.quoddy.house), the decks at HighTide provide spectacular views out east on to the Bay of Fundy, or to the north towards the town of Lubec. Guests share access to the extensive private Quoddy House beach, via their own path to the beach, and have separate drive-in access at 863 South Lubec Road. The property is bordered on the north by the water (Lubec Channel) and on the east and south by West Quoddy Head State Park. HighTide provides guests with a unique opportunity to spend their time in Maine surrounded by nature, nestled in the coastal spruce forest, with beautiful views of the water and soaring eagles overhead, all literally a stone’s throw from the hiking paths and coastal vistas of West Quoddy Head State Park. Its no more than an easy 15 minute walk to the West Quoddy Lighthouse. Here, you can have a truly unique vacation!brbrHighTide accommodates a maximum of 4 persons. Please note that HighTide may not be suitable for all - access to the living area on the second floor is from the second story deck, with an interior spiral staircase leading to the sleeping quarters on the third floor. While the views of Campobello Island, South Lubec Bay, and the Bay of Fundy from the second and third floor decks are truly spectacular, young children should be closely supervised.

Cabin

Tiny cabin BIG CHARM/Military discount/Fire pit/ Beach/No pet fee

Lubec, Maine, United States

br If you are looking for a cute, little, log cabin in the woods, close to a quiet beach, the Lighthouse log cabin is right for you. The cabin is very small, but it has everything that you will need for a relaxing getaway! We have a very reasonable and flexible cancellation policy and do make exceptions when things happen that are unexpected such as family illness or death, accidents, and weather related issues. We offer a 10% active and retired military, law enforcement, and first responders, just message us before you make your reservation and we will add the discount. We have a low $100 cleaning fee, no pet fee, a 10% weekly discount, and a 2 night minimum stay( off peak season)! All dogs are welcome, but we do ask that you keep them on a lead everywhere on the property except for the beach to keep them safe and out of respect for other guests. Also please do not leave your dog alone on the porch or in the cabin to bark and disturb other guests and our neighbors. We work very hard to provide the best value for your money! We have an extremely fast response and resolution time if you have an issue. We care about your family and our team is here to serve you and make sure you have the very best stay possible. This is a very small cabin, so it is suitable for 2 adults and up to 2 young children and small dogs. Very large or very energetic dogs would not have enough room to run around. All well behaved dogs welcome, up to 2 dogs per booking. We accept well behaved cats upon request, too. Because we are pet friendly and the beach is shared with the other cabins you may occasionally see or hear other guests and their pets. If you are allergic or simply do not like pets our cabin would not be a good fit for you. Reserve the perfect dates for next summer, now, because it fills up quickly with repeat guests. There is a stone fire pit, small propane grill, picnic table, and chairs. The Lighthouse has 200Mbps high speed internet and Wi-Fi. The cabin gets the cool breeze off of the bay so there is no air conditioning just baseboard heaters for the cold mornings and nights. The cabin is near the end of the North Lubec peninsula, so the location feels very remote, but is only 6 miles from the town of Lubec. Lubec is paradise for nature lovers, but the restaurants are limited and close early and there is no night life because it is just a small, historic fishing village. The Lighthouse cabin is located about a quarter of a mile off of North Lubec Road down a long gravel road (Lighthouse Lane). The Lighthouse cabin is the 2nd, of 3 cabins, with a little stone bridge out front. The cabin is clean and comfortable and is surrounded by tall trees and birds. Bring your paddle board or use our kayaks and explore the bay. To use our kayaks you must sign the waiver form in the welcome book. There is a kayak rack at the beach, but the beach is slightly downhill from the cabin and so is not ideal if you bring heavy kayaks. The cabin shares access to a quiet beach with two other log cabins. The cabins have trees separating them for privacy. Just follow a short path that start right off from the back porch to get to the beach and the kayak rack. Guests staying at the last cabin are aware that guests from the other cabins will be walking the path to get to the beach. This cabin gets its name from the Quoddy Head lighthouse that is a 9.7 mile drive away. Quoddy head's coast guard hiking trails are not to be missed, and other short hiking trails and picnic areas are 10 minutes away on North Lubec Road. We highly recommend the Down East Charters whale watching tours (they run from mid-June too mid-September) from Lubec, the guide is knowledgeable and funny and touring the coastlines of neighboring islands is breathtaking. The Lighthouse log cabin is all on one level and has 2 bedrooms and a small open concept kitchen with a dishwasher, a table, and a small living room space. The screened porch is great for enjoying the cool, salty, breeze and the sound of birds and the tide coming in. There is a washer and dryer and a full bath with a tub shower combo. Outdoor chairs, picnic table, small propane grill, and a stone fire pit, are provided. This is not a beach for swimming. The current is too strong and the water is always too cold. No smoking and please return all TV equipment to its original settings if you make any changes.

Waterfront cabin/Military discount/ Kayaks/ Fire pit/ beach/No pet fee/ deck

Lubec, Maine, United States

The Mainley log cabin is our magical escape from the summer heat and traffic at home. We do share it for a few months out of the year because it is too good not to share! We have filled it with local art, and vintage treasures that capture the spirit of the bold coast. You will have to look a long time to find another coastal property as well maintained and comfortable at this price! We just had a beautiful new deck built in April 2025 that looks out over the bay. We have no pet fee, a 10% weekly discount, a 2 night minimum stay for off peak season, and the cleaning fee is very low at $120. We offer a 10% discount for active and retired military, law enforcement, and first responders , just message us before making your reservation and we will add the discount for you. We know that times are hard right now so we work to provide the best value for your hard earned money. The Mainley is a true log cabin, rustic, but very comfortable with an elevated view of Cobscook bay and Moose Island. It is perfect for nature loving couples or families of 4, with a king bed in the loft , 2 single beds in the downstairs bedroom, and one full bath with a walk in shower . The cabin is right on the water and gets the cool breeze from the bay so there is no air conditioning just the oil furnace for the chilly mornings and nights. If you are looking to escape the big city life for a little while and connect with nature you will love it here. No pet fee, no weight limit on dogs. We do insist that you have your dogs on a lead everywhere on the property except for the beach because we have porcupine and coyotes in the area. Also please do not leave your dogs alone on the porch or in the cabin to bark and disturb our neighbors. We have a very reasonable and flexible cancellation policy because we understand that sometimes things come up and we make exceptions for health & family issues and weather. We have large dogs, so we understand the frustration of not being able to find accommodations that allow dogs over 80 pounds. All well behaved dogs welcome, up to 3 dogs per booking. We accept well behaved cats upon request as well. Our cabin is furnished with big dogs in mind. It is unreasonable to ask that your dog stay off of the furniture, so we have sturdy, covered, easily cleaned furnishings. We fell in love with the massive Lubec tides, the water birds, and all of the wildflowers here and we are sure you will, too! Reserve the perfect dates for next summer now because the calendar fills up quickly with returning guests. A recent guest described the Mainley best by saying if you want a Disney type vacation this is not for you, but if you want to commune with nature in a relaxing clutter free space this is perfect. The cabin is at the end of a long gravel driveway and is about a quarter of a mile off of North Lubec Road. It is located close to the end of the North Lubec peninsula. The location feels very remote and is surrounded by thick forest, but it is only 6 miles to the town of Lubec. Lubec is a nature lovers paradise, but the restaurants are limited, close early, and there is no night life. Summer activities shut down at the end of September, but the natural beauty of the area is still amazing. The beach is downhill from the cabin and the short walk may be difficult to navigate for older guests even though we have a wide paved path. The Mainley shares a secluded beach with 2 smaller cabins. The cabins are far enough apart with trees between them to maintain some privacy. Our cabins are pet friendly so you may see or hear another guests pets on the beach. If you are allergic or simply do not like pets our cabin will not be a good fit for you. The Mainley cabin has an open concept main floor with 20-foot ceilings, wood burning fireplace, large deck, screened porch, a smart TV with Spectrum basic cable, 200Mbps high speed internet and WIFI. Our cabin is a clean, rustic, but comfortable, place to relax and read a book (we have lots of them) or just enjoy the view and the sound of the tide coming in. Watch the rise and fall of the massive, 20 plus foot tides, from the elevated deck that runs the length of the house. Bring your paddle board or use our kayaks and explore the bay. To use our kayaks you must sign the waiver form in the welcome book. Walk on the rocky, beach in front of the cabin, and watch eagles, gulls, and seals. We highly recommend the whale watching tours with Down East Charters, that runs from June too mid-September, from Lubec. The guide is funny, well informed, and touring the coast lines of neighboring islands is breathtaking. This home is equipped with everything that you need for relaxing getaway. The kitchen has plenty of counter space to prepare fresh seafood, while the easy-to-use appliances and lots of cooking equipment make vacation cooking easy. Plenty of outdoor chairs to enjoy the view and a screened porch for relaxing without the bugs. To use our exercise equipment you must sign the waiver form in the welcome book. With all of the wonderful hiking trails in the area and the kayaks you will not need exercise equipment! This is not a suitable beach for swimming because current is too strong and the water is always too cold. No smoking and please return all TV equipment to its original settings if you make any changes. br

Walk to Campobello & beach/Weekly discount/Pets welcome/Water views /Fire pit

Lubec, Maine, United States

Come explore the Bold Coast and stay for a while at our charming 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath water view cottage. You will enjoy the in town location with views of Campobello Island and the Lubec Narrows. It is located beside the Roosevelt bridge to Campobello Island. It is only a 10 minute walk from Mowry beach and wildlife preserve and restaurants and gift shops. We have a small viewing room, the Crow's Nest, on the 4th floor whith a view of the town, Roosevelt bridge, and the Lubec Narrows. We have 3 stools salvaged from one of the last sardine packing warehouses in the Crow's Nest where you can sit and watch the boats come in. The deck also has views of the park and the Narrows. We offer a 10% discount for all law enforcement, and active duty or retired military and first responders, just message us before you make your reservation and we will add the discount. We have a fast response and resolution time if any issue comes up. We work hard to make sure you have the best stay possible. Our cancellation policy is relaxed and reasonable. We understand that things happen that are beyond your control. We make exceptions for family health issues ( this includes pets, they are family, too) and inclement weather. We have no pet fee, a low cleaning fee of only $150, and a 10% weekly discount. The Seafarer's Retreat is large house, but the living room, kitchen, and bathrooms are small because it was built in 1883. It has lots of charm, great views of Campobello Island and the Lubec Narrows, and an excellent in town location. This house gets the cool coastal breeze and so does not have air conditioning only baseboard heaters for the cold mornings and nights , so when you go out exploring on a warm day be sure to leave some windows open to keep the house cool. You can sit on the deck and watch the boats come in to town or during Summer Keys listen to free music from the park next door. The Seafarers Retreat sleeps up 8 adults comfortably, but we market it for 6 because the living room dining room , kitchen ,and bathrooms are small. The bedrooms are all a reasonable size and all beds have comfortable, soft memory foam mattress toppers with lots of pillows and extra blankets . The bedrooms do not have chests of drawers, but they do all have closets with hangers and luggage racks. All 4 of the bedrooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors so this home will not be a good fit for guest that have difficulty with climbing stairs. The walk-in showers in the bathrooms are small so if large bathrooms are a must for you our house will not be a good fit. Children of all ages and dogs of all sizes are welcome here! There is plenty of room for your family with 4 bedrooms, and 2 and a half bathrooms. There is a bathroom on each floor, so no walking up or down stairs in the middle of the night. The bathrooms do not have a tubs only small walk in showers, but there is a bathtub for babies in the 3rd story closet. This home is family and pet friendly! You will find a highchair, pack and play, kid sized plates, step stools for tooth brushing, child's toilet seat, a baby gate for the stairs. There is an on-demand generator to weather any storms if you stay during spring or fall months. You can walk or drive and explore Lubec and Campobello. We highly recommend whale watching tours with Downeast Charters (operating from June to mid-September) and taking the ferry to Eastport (runs Thursday- Sunday) where you will find dining and unique gift shops. Lubec has a few restaurants, a couple of cool gift shops, a fishing pier, the Fisherman's memorial, an old-style hardware store, and an IGA for groceries and alcohol. The restaurants in this area close earlier than in larger towns, most close between 7 and 8pm, so plan on an early dinner. You will be in town, but it is a quiet and peaceful location and the whole town is very laid back. Lubec is a nature lovers paradise, but there is no night life, it is just a small, historic fishing town. If you want an escape from busy city life this is the place for you. Walk or drive across the bridge to Campobello Island and explore the numerous hiking trails there and have tea and cookies at the Roosevelt summer cottage. Campobello is open to you if you have a passport and now you no longer need proof of vaccination. If you like hiking there are lots of trails in the area, we highly recommend the Quoddy head lighthouse's coast guard trails. From the deck you will enjoy a great view of the Roosevelt bridge, the Narrows, and the huge, 23 foot, rise and fall of the tides. It is a 10-minute walk to Mowry beach which is a sandy public beach where you can find sea glass. You follow a rose lined (roses are blooming in late June) path to a sandy beach with a view of Grand Manan Island in the distance. There as a small viewing room on the 4th floor (the Crow's Nest) with windows all around so you can see in all directions. The Retreat has a smart TV with basic cable and 200Mbps high speed internet for streaming and free WIFI. You will find a full kitchen ready for you to prepare a meal. There is a Keurig coffee maker and a variety of k-cups as well as a regular coffee maker. You are our guests, so we make sure you have coffee, creamer, sugar, lots of utensils, and a huge lobster pot! All dogs welcome! No weight limit on your best friend! There are extra personal care items for you such as prepackaged toothbrushes, razors, lotion, etc. just take what you need. Pack some beach combing clothes, hop in your car, and come and relax and recharge at the Seafarers Retreat!
