How is this property different Quite simply, it is our home, not a generic cookie-cutter house, but a unique log cabin built in the 1950s, and expanded in the 90s. It is also ideal for those with mild disability. It is all knotty pine inside, with one open common space, two spacious bedrooms with lake views and en suite bathrooms with walk-in double showers, and a third smaller bedroom with a woods facing window. There is a third full bath with tub. (It is the original bathroom. We NEVER mess with it because the water pressure is fantastic. It's the one where you will wash your hair!) Has baseboard heat with individual thermostats for chilly nights, ceiling fans and floor to ceiling windows lakeside. Fireplace in the common room. All new appliances in a serious cook-equipped kitchen. Two dining tables can seat 18 if expanded, but allows one to be set up for board games or puzzles. Only a few feet from the lake and the dock, with boat mooring. A swim float is a few yards from the dock. Very secluded setting with little boat traffic off of a private road that services only 6 properties. There is an adorable child’s playhouse (equipped with a sink to which a garden hose can attach to provide running water). Canoe available if desired. Propane grill is outside. The property is on the east side of Long Lake, halfway between Naples and Harrison . You will be tempted to photograph every sunset, but none will capture the beauty your eyes will take in. The loons call out all night. This is Maine lake district at its most relaxing. Harrison has been struggling with broadband access but is addressing the issue currently. At present we have internet service, that is unreliable. Recent guests have used their own hot spots successfully, as we do. A new handicap-friendly dock with railings was installed in 2022, new swim float in 2023. There are stairs as well as a ladder from the dock into the lake. The main en suite bathroom has grab bars and can have a toilet frame with assist bars if requested. Two lift chairs (living room and main bedroom) are ideal for Parkinsons sufferers.

No matter what you've come to Western Maine for... it's likely within a 5-15 minute drive. Looking for a day on the lake... rent a boat on Long Lake or soak in the sun at Crystal Lake beach and playground. Hiking, golfing, fishing, ATV trails, snow mobiling, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, breweries, restaurants and local shops are in all directions from the property. Our favorite way to start the day is walking to the nearby farm for fresh milk, yogurt, and breakfast sausage and then heading to the local brewery to stock the fridge for the day. If you're staying for a while and have time for a day trip or two, Portland, North Conway, and Old Orchard beach are all within proximity. We know what it's like to travel with pets and children and have provided all the comforts required to keep them active and content. The white mountains are about 1hr for hiking as well as there are plenty of nearby trails. Check out old speck mountain. Many close by public beaches & boat launches!!! brbrNO PETS: Yiks, Absolutely No pets allowed. I want to clarify we are not anti-dog people, we just have allergies and nice furniture. If you're wondering; No Dogs don't see us and bark at us like we are bad people lol We actually love dogs but we just cannot have them in the home. We are very strict on the no pet rule and will charge an additional $700 cleaning fee if violated, plus damage if any (including scratches). brbrTHE WATERFRONT: 100' waterfront area of grass, rocks, trees. There is a small area sort of a “mini beach” that you can easily launch kayaks or canoes from. You must cross the road to access the water. Once down the steps the area is very private and surrounded by trees, you can hear cars going by but normally your focus is the beautiful water views!!! brbrSWIM RAFT: You may use our swim raft in season. It is the yellow swim raft directly in front of our waterline property. Please store it with the ladder UP (so it won't break on rocks). No diving, water levels fluctuate. Enjoy!!! brbrFIRE PIT: Bring your own wood/tinder, apply for a burn permit. Cannot be out of state wood per Maine law. brbrCANOE/KAYAK: When available, you are free to borrow our canoes and Kayaks. brBoth canoes are a two person max capacity. Each kayak is a single person max ocean kayak. brbrSNOW & ICE: We pay a company to plow the driveway & shovel the deck/stairs during large storms. It is Maine keep in mind, there might be some snow/ice maintenance that renters will have to participate in. We give renters access to shovels and sand for sanding the driveway. The road & driveway are paved but we still recommend 4x4 if available but generally 2x4 can get up the driveway (there is no way to know for sure because we can’t predict the weather so we cannot guarantee anything).
