The cabin sits on a county road that’s regularly plowed in the winter, but during snowy months (typically December–April), we recommend an AWD or 4x4 vehicle with good tire tread for a smoother, stress-free arrival. Mountain weather can shift quickly, so it’s always a good idea to check road conditions before heading out and plan accordingly. Colorado also has winter driving traction laws in place, so be sure your vehicle meets the requirements to avoid any issues along the way.brbrSpeaking of snow, this is the Colorado Rockies so be prepared! We do our best to plow the area in front of the cabin and shovel the walkway. However, the remote nature of this place can make these tasks delayed. We do provide a shovel in case you need to clear a path.brbrbrLIVING & DINING AREA:brStep inside this historic home and you’re welcomed by a bright, airy space filled with natural light. Just past the entry, you’ll find a dining table, coat hooks, and a bench, with tall windows that open into the living area. Twin Lakes, Colorado, United States

Located high above Twin Lakes, our river rock and log-style Mountain House overlooks several of Colorado's 14'ers, including Mt. Elbert (the highest peak), Parry Peak and Mount Hope. A short walk up the hill behind us reveals Mount Massive. Our property is adjacent to two empty lots including national forest service land, giving the illusion of being the only house on the mountain. The house sleeps 8 in easy comfort. The upper floor offers a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and walk-in closet, a bedroom with bunk beds, a full bath, laundry room and loft area overlooking the lake/mountain view. The main floor includes two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and one with a trundle, a full bath, kitchen and living room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a wood-burning fireplace. While we’ve elected to forego the cable, we do offer WI-FI and there is an entertainment center which includes a Smart TV to stream your favorite movies, DVD, VCR, CD player. The walk-out basement boasts a finished game room with foosball, ping pong, shuffleboard, and pop-a-shot basketball. The bedroom on this floor contains two queen-sized beds and a carpeted floor and the best view! Full bath included as well as a utility room with a full-sized refrigerator/freezer. You’ll want 4WD or AWD to handle the hills, dirt roads and occasional slippery weather.
