The cabin is fully furnished with all the amenities for a worry-free, comfortable, vacation. Twenty minutes from Asheville, NC, it is an easy day trip to this eclectic, diverse town and the Biltmore Estate. If relaxation is what you want, indulge in the hot tub nestled in the trees, sit by the fireplace, or curl up on the front porch while listening to the sound of the French Broad River. The cabin has easy access to outdoor adventures. Tubing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, road biking, fishing, Hot Springs mineral tubs, and white water rafting are minutes away. Coffee shops, galleries and restaurants in the quaint, artsy, mountain town of Marshall, are an easy walk from the cabin. brThe cabin is not fancy or splashy, it is a little rustic--but is super-cozy. brbrThe living areas are small and sweet. The third bonus bedroom is connected to the second bedroom by an open doorway (although you cannot see one room from the other). It is perfect for children or very close families. Please be advised that the cabin is in the woods! We try to keep it as critter-free as possible, but occasionally bugs get in! Please note: THE CABIN DOES NOT HAVE CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING. Biltmore Estate and Asheville are in Buncombe county.brbrA modern cabin 40 minutes from Asheville. Enjoy this 180 acre retreat. City or country adventures. This is a private cabin which up until a few years ago was only used for short visits in the country by our immediate family living in Asheville. You should feel as if you are guests in a well loved vacation home which was custom built and has been tastefully decorated with quality and comfort in mind. Note that there is another house on the property, but you can't see it from the cabin.brbrYou will have access to logging trails above the cabin that are good for hiking. There are wonderful views from up there. Take the road by the creek upstream until you come to a fork. Take the path to the left to access the trails. There are two creeks on the property with one providing particularly easy access for wading in the pure, cold mountain water. brbrMany attractions are within 20 minutes, including the town of Hot Springs with its historic mineral springs spa. The Depot music hall (Marshall) on Friday nights is free with local bluegrass entertainment. Mainstreet Marshall also boasts several art galleries and quirky restaurants. The loft is a 1700 square foot home above a hobby workshop (the bottom floor, that is not accessible to the loft, is only used as hobby wood project space by the owner— the loft feels like it’s all yours and is not a shared space). The loft is an open space concept with soaring ceilings, enormous windows, and unique custom made lighting. brbrDeck:brThe deck is a great place to take in the sunset, roast S’mores on the propane fire pit, and have long conversations as the stars come out to to play. Ample storage shelves and baskets give you plenty of nooks for your toiletries. Shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, handsoap and hand sanitizer are always provided along with abundant fluffy towels and washcloths, toilet paper and tissue.brbrPlum Crooked is an 850 sq ft one bedroom cottage. The cottage is small, four rooms and a bathroom, and there is one closet in the living room with plenty of shelves and room to stow your luggage. Please keep this in mind if you wish to book an extended stay. The home is nearly 100 yrs old and we have tried to retain as much of the original structure as possible in the restoration. Please be gentle with the doors and windows. She was built a wee bit crooked back in the day! brbrThe living room has two extra deep velvet loveseats with loads of down pillows and throws. There is an antique writing desk complete with vintage working typewriter and paper, pencils and pens for your own writing inclinations and also provides a dedicated workspace. Multiple usb chargers are included throughout the house. The 200+ Mbps wifi is always lightning fast and reliable. There is a smart TV and an infrared fireplace completes the coziness of the space. brbrThe house is comfortably heated with a Toyo Laser heating system and the house is naturally cool in the summer months due to the setting at the base of the mountain. There are ceiling fans in each room and two window unit air conditioners for the hotter months but it is rarely, if ever, necessary. Redundant water heaters, both tank and on demand, provide plenty of hot water for your clawfoot tub time! We also have an air purification unit that runs at all times and the entire house is sanitized via ozone between each guest stay!brbrOur private bridge is the entryway to our wee town haven and you can feel the magic begin as soon as you cross.
