We called this the Charming Cottage because it looks like something from a fairy tale. Goldilocks would have found this cottage to be just right even with the bear painting on the front porch. The cabin features wide plank flooring with a distressed finish, post and beam construction with cute decorative corbels, and a loft bedroom straight from an alpine chalet. brbrThe main floor is an open kitchen/ living room with an island eating station. Or you can pull out the TV tray next to the loveseat to properly veg out while streaming movies. The surprising large is just off the living room. If you want an outdoor experience, sit on the back deck and watch the fireflies in the summer nights. brbrThe queen bed is located upstairs in a loft with a steeply pitched roof. I added tape lighting to give it a properly tent-like effect. There is a window a/c unit up there since heat rises and that tin roof can really warm up on a summer day. And there is a cozy rug and fuzzy blanket for cool winter nights.brbrThis cabin is one of four unique cabins on our property. The main house, where we live, is central to all four cabins. This cabin and one other are right next to our house, and two are across the creek. All of the cabins are close to other residences.brbrOur wee village of tiny houses is located in the bustling community of Glenville and on the main thoroughfare from Sylva to Cashiers. That means there is road noise, especially during commuting hours. There is also people noise. brbrGlenville is between Cashiers and Sylva, but much closer to Cashiers. Lake Glenville is one of the main draws to the community. Signal Ridge Marina is 1/2 mile away and the public boat launch is 2 1/2 miles. Chimney Pond Farm (formerly Sawyer Farm) is just over a mile from the cabins. Highlands and Cullowhee are a 30 minute drive. Signal Ridge Marina rents boats, canoes, kayaks and paddle boards.brbrWe are located on a two lane state highway in the mountains. There are very few streetlights. It can be challenging to navigate in the dark, but most mapping is accurate and we have a house number sign at the entrance to the driveway. Since we are on the main road, it is always plowed when we get snow and we rarely lose power for any length of time. But there is some road noise which is the handoff for easy access. brbrThe driveway is concrete on the steep part and gravel where you park.brbrPlease park between the front cabin and the carport. There is a small sign that says “Charming Cottage Parking”.brbrCell phone coverage is limited in the mountains.brbrThe Tv has a Roku streaming device but no antenna or cable tv.

We are 5 miles from Cashiers, 15 miles from Highlands, 1.5 miles from Chimney Pond Farm, and 2.5 miles from the public boat launch on Lake Glenville. Nearby, there are lots of hiking trails to beautiful waterfalls, stunning vistas, and unique geological formations.brbrThe Tiny Cabin’s one level, 350sq ft layout is surprisingly roomy. The kitchen/ living room has a full kitchen has a stove, microwave, coffee maker, full size refrigerator, a bar eating area, and a little loveseat for some canoodling. There is also a bookshelf and a basket with local maps and information. There is a covered deck off the living room, perfect for dining al fresco in the warm weather.brbrThe bedroom has a comfy queen bed and the tv with Roku streaming device, convenient for binge watching your favorite shows. The bathroom is just off the bedroom and has a stall shower for minimal square footage.brbrGlenville is between Cashiers and Sylva, but much closer to Cashiers. Lake Glenville is one of the main draws to the community. Signal Ridge Marina is 1/2 mile away and the public boat launch is 2 1/2 miles. Chimney Pond Farm (formerly Sawyer Farm) is just over a mile from the cabins. Highlands and Cullowhee are a 30 minute drive. brbrThis cabin is one of four unique cabins on our property. The main house, where we live, is central to all four cabins. This cabin and one other are right next to our house, and two are across the creek. You can check out the other listings under my profile. brbrOur wee village of tiny houses is located in the bustling community of Glenville and on the main thoroughfare from Sylva to Cashiers. That means there is road noise, especially during commuting hours. There is also people noise. brbrSignal Ridge Marina rents boats, canoes, kayaks and paddle boards for lake use during the season. Cashiers is 5 miles away, where there is an Ingles grocery store, liquor store, restaurants and shopping. There is a lot of great hikes in the area: High Falls, Panthertown, Whitewater Falls, and Whiteside Mountain to name a few. brbrWe are located on a two lane state highway in the mountains. There are very few streetlights. It can be challenging to navigate in the dark, but online mapping is pretty accurate and we have a house number sign at the entrance to the driveway. Since we are on the main road, it is always plowed when we get snow and we rarely lose power for any length of time. But there is some road noise which is the handoff for easy access. brbrThe driveway is concrete on the steep part and gravel where you park. brbrPlease park in the space in front of your cabin. There is a sign that says “Tiny Cabin Parking”.

As you pull into this mountain retreat, you'll notice our private and expansive new construction house nestled on 7+ acres in the NC mountainside at 3840 ft of elevation. Walk in the front door and find 3 bedrooms on the main floor, including a 2nd master bedroom with a full large bath and walk-in shower. The well-stocked kitchen has a full-size pantry and new appliances. The large laundry room has a washer and dryer. Step outside and enjoy the large covered deck with expansive gorgeous mountain views with no obstruction. This is why you come to North Carolina! We have outdoor furniture, TV, propane grill and a brgas fireplace to enjoy the colder nights. Our family room includes a electric fireplace and 75 TV. Head upstairs where the master bedroom occupies the entire 3rd floor. A bathroom big enough for a whole family with tub, double walk-in shower and heated tile floors. Extra-large walk-in closet for your use. You'll find a king size bed, sitting room with sofa, chairs, TV and coffee bar. Head downstairs to the lower floor and find game room heaven. Pool table, air hockey, ping pong, arcade style video games and cool bar for great parties. Next to this fun room is our gym/exercise room with full weight room with quality exercise equipment. And lastly, finish your day and step outside to enjoy the mountain views from our 9-person hot tub spa. The house is only 3 minutes up the mountain from the NC-107 in Glenville, and an easy 10-minute drive back to Cashiers, local restaurants and Sapphire. We are 20+ minutes from Highlands and about 1.5 hours from Asheville. Property has sleeping beds for 8. All 7 TVs are smart TV's and the house has full Wi-Fi capability.
