It is a part of our old village home, and has been recently renovated. It includes: One queen size bed/ Fold out love seat(folds out to a twin bed)/kitchenette with sink, microwave, single-burner induction cook top, Keurig coffee maker, full size refrigerator/ Table with seating for 3/ compact stereo/ Full bath with shower and jacuzzi jet tub. brIt is decorated with works by local artists, including some of Meg's own work.brbrThe apartment includes a separate entryway and the ability to be fully closed off from the rest of our home for privacy. We'll provide a variety of toiletries and clean towels. During your stay you are welcome to take advantage of our riverfront property with gardens, outdoor seating, and of course, The River Stone Wellness center! Book a massage, or join a yoga class. We'll be happy to accommodate.brbrWe love meeting our guests! That said, please understand that we have local day jobs. We are available in short notice usually most of the waking hours of the day by e-mail/text/phone. We live in the house that the apartment is part of, so we're seldom too far away.brbrWilmington is an outdoor enthusiasts dream. The town is surrounded by the Whiteface, Stephenson, and Sentinel mountain ranges and split by the West Branch of the Ausable river. With a long history of Adirondack hospitality, Wilmington is the perfect place for a quiet retreat to the mountains. The busy streets of Lake Placid are a 15 minute drive away. Wilmington is home to Whiteface ski area, the newly re-constructed Whiteface Memorial highway, the original and iconic Santa's Workshop, some of the best fly fishing in the country, an extensive network of world-class hiking and mountain biking trails, and some of the finest rock and ice climbing routes anywhere in the Adirondacks. A great selection of craft beers can be found at North Pole CG, Shopping opportunities include custom built bikes, chainsaws, homemade chocolate, or the biggest sub sandwich you've ever seen for 6$ from the Little Supermarket. Our town senior shuttle bus is routinely used throughout the summer as a mountain bike shuttle, and there isn't a single stop light anywhere in town. Welcome to Wilmington. Bear Den Chalet comfortably sleeps six in bedrooms, but can accommodate up to 6 other guests on very thick comfortable futons, including one on a second floor landing, and two in the finished basement where the wide screen TV is. Linens, cooking and eating utensils, Cable TV, cable modem for high speed internet access, and DVD, make Bear Den Chalet a relaxing home away from home. Seasonal chills are kept out with radiant floor heating. All you need to bring with you are clothes, food, ski gear, hiking gear or fishing poles.brbrThere's a campfire, picnic table and propane barbecue in the yard, providing a great place for the family to gather in the evening, to review the days activities, have a family sing-along, or just to listen to the sounds of the Adirondack night, while counting the stars in the clear Adirondack skies, and inhaling the fragrance of the tall white pines which enclose the yard, or using the outdoor barrel sauna.brbrGuests of Bear Den Chalet are entitled to visit the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge, about a mile away, where the family can learn all about wolves, moose, bears, bobcat, and fox, as well as birds of prey, such as owls, falcons and hawks. The Veterans Memorial Highway, the beautiful 2-lane country road up the back of Whiteface Mountain, is just a couple of miles drive, and features great views, a specially stocked trout pond for young kids, as well as America's very first theme park, Santa's Workshop at the North Pole, a great place for kids to pet reindeer, enjoy kiddie rides, and meet Santa's elves. Just five miles down the road from Whiteface Mountain, this cozy, yet spacious vacation rental sleeps 12 and is perfectly appointed for exciting outdoor adventures and endless indoor entertainment for all ages.brbrOn the main floor, guests enter through a large mudroom to a great room with comfortable seating around a beautiful stone fireplace. Continue on to the open kitchen and dining areas, where there is seating for 12 around the table and more at the bar. The top-of-the-line kitchen is well equipped and makes meal preparation for large groups easy and enjoyable. Just off the dining area, there is a large porch, complete with a table and chairs for 10-12, couches for lounging, a large gas grill and, a few steps beyond, a fire pit and a spacious, open yard. RiverWalk Lodge is a newly renovated 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath cabin with waterfront access to the W. Branch Ausable River and seasonal mountain views. Located in the hamlet of Wilmington this cabin is close by to all the Adirondacks have to offer from fishing and kayaking from our shore to hiking, biking, and skiiing! Our cabin is less than 5 minutes to Whiteface Mountain and 15 minutes to Lake Placid. The cabin sleeps 6 -8 guests and boasts 3 porches, 2 living areas a gourmet kitchen, wet bar and fire pit area.brbrThe main walk in level of our home has a living room, kitchen, 1/2 bath and 2 covered porches with one that is screened in offering seasonal water and mountain views. The living room has a comfortable seating area to relax or play games and a TV. The newly renovated kitchen is equipped with soft closing cabinetry, stainless steel appliances ( no dishwasher) and a beautiful butcher block counter top. This space is perfect for family time, fun and lively game nights, sharing a meal or enjoying the scenery from the back porch.brbrThe upstairs has two bedrooms with queen size beds, both with cathedral ceilings an ample natural lighting. A full size spa like bathroom is provided on this level and there is also a dedicated work space and laundry.brbrIn the lower level is another living space with a TV, wet bar and full size bathroom. It is a walkout with access to another back porch and the fire pit area. The 3rd bedroom is also located on this floor and offers a queen size bed with plenty of natural lighting overlooking the back yard. This is a 4 bedroom, 2 full bath on the West Branch of the Ausable River (the section called Lake Everest) at the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge in Wilmington, a 50 acre educational site, where folks learn about wildlife and nature. It features canoes and kayaks, hot tub, barrel sauna, 2 miles of hiking trails, and perhaps the most beautiful back yard views in the Adirondacks, featuring Whiteface Mountain and gorgeous riverside views. brbr brbrThe lodge provides a full kitchen and dining area, along with a full Living room with brick fireplace and lots of couch room, all framed with bookcases providing endless reading material, geared towards Nature, travel, fiction and philosophy. brbr brbrWildlife includes bears, fox, coywolves, deer, eagles and the occasional moose. Firewood is provided for the large campfire, which accommodates about ten people. Listen to the evening concert of birds and crickets, while staring at the stars and planets overhead. This is a place to get away from your busy lives, relax and regroup, while taking in the wonders and mystery of Nature. brbr brbrThe spacious sun porch sleeps four in two beds, while there are three other bedrooms with queen size beds. All rooms have overhead fans, while one of them has an AC unit as well. brbr brbrYour host lives in the north wing of the house with completely separate entry and parking. A writer and the owner of the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge, he's often traveling to do wildlife photography at National Parks and Wildlife Refuges from Alaska all the way down through Alberta and British Columbia, to the parks of the American Southwest, but he's never further than a phone call away if questions about the Lodge come up. Come enjoy one of the most beautiful sites in the Adirondack Mountains. brbr brbrThe Welcome Center features a ping pong table, as well as a combination chess-checkers-backgammon table. The Welcome Center is a great place to learn about nature, and you may purchase sweat shirts, tee shirts, books, photographs etc. There is an active Bald Eagles nest directly across the river from where the canoes and kayaks are racked, and the nest has produced a surviving eaglet each of the last three years, so bring cameras and binoculars. Nesting season begins in late January to early February, with eaglets hatching around April 1st. brbr brbrWhile the Wildlife Refuge has public hikers during open hours between 10 am and 4 pm, the Refuge is all yours after 4 pm closing. Sit around the campfire or walk down to the West Branch of the Ausable River, and use our hot tub, outside wood sauna, and then the strong in spirit can go jump in the lake! Fish, swim and use our canoes and kayaks along the Ausable, which in this area is also called Lake Everest. Lucky hikers and kayakers have spotted moose, bear, coywolf, fox, fisher and eagles, as well as songbirds and any bird of prey you'll find in the Adirondacks, from owls to hawks to falcons and osprey, in the sloughs, or along the two miles of family friendly hiking trails in the 50 acre Adirondack Wildlife Refuge.

A fully equipped kitchen & a washer-dryer, complimentary high speed, wireless internet access & an HDTV flat screen, with satellite TV, exercise bench and recumbent bike; foosball, air hockey and 45 TV in the finished basement, making Beaver Creek Lodge your home-away-from-home in the Adirondacks. brbrThe master bedroom has a queen-sized bed and two more can sleep in the trundle bed, while two guest rooms have a queen, & two singles respectively.
