** We place the utmost value on our guests' experience at our property so we are disclosing that starting August 26, 2024, our road will be used by heavy trucks accessing a neighboring property for construction access. This access will continue through the fall, pause for the winter, and resume in the spring 2025, and then continue until July 2025. The access is restricted to taking place Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 7 PM. These times correspond with the time when the vast majority of our guests are out enjoying Glacier National Park, and the surrounding area, so we believe the inconvenience and interruption will be mitigated by this. We have reduced our pricing to reflect this possible inconvenience.brOur cabins are ideally designed to accommodate two couples and their children or a family, providing the perfect setting for a peaceful retreat. We invite elopements, honeymoons, and other small events with pre-approval (unfortunately, bachelor or bachelorette parties are not permitted). The cabins span two stories with a daylight basement level and decks. The lower level is accessible solely via exterior landscape steps, ensuring privacy between the levels. For families with young children, please consider this prior to booking. The upper floor features a fully equipped kitchen with all necessary amenities and more, while the lower level offers a kitchenette furnished with a microwave, toaster, mini-fridge, and Keurig coffee maker.brbrThe cabins are fully equipped with high end furnishings for a comfortable stay. Guests can enjoy a relaxing hot tub or a visit to the indoor sauna to unwind after an active day of skiing, golfing or hiking. We provide snow removal services for the road, parking areas, walkways and steps , that said, from the end of October to April, you should plan on snowy, icy, and slippery conditions while accessing the cabins, in the parking areas, and between the two levels of the cabin. The property is located near the Meadowlake golf course, and neighboring properties are generally private homes on 5-20 acre parcels of forested land. You will very likely encounter more squirrels, deer, wild turkeys, than our human neighbors. We do have occasional black bears, and their babies wander through the property, so making certain to not leave food or garbage outside is a requirement. The bears are fun to observe as the wander through the property, you will just want to make sure to keep at a distance from them, as they are wild, and we are living in their habitat.brOur property provides some walking opportunities, both in the woods, and throughout the Meadowlake resort neighborhoods. Many people bicycle and walk on Tamarack Lane and on the back road all the way to Whitefish, however we don't recommend it due to the lack of a bicycle lane or decent shoulder. Generally, you must have a vehicle to get around the area and an SUV is ideal. If you are visiting in the winter months 4-wheel drive is strongly suggested if not a requirement.

Welcome to our home, conveniently located only 2.5 miles from downtown Columbia Falls, and only 15 miles from the main entrance of the famous Glacier National Park. We are only 1 mile from Big Sky water park, or if hiking is you desire you are in luck, Columbia Mountain trail head is practicaly out the back door only 2.7 miles away. Our home is located on 6 acres of land with mountain views from each window. This quiet country setting is a perfect place to sit out relax and enjoy the views, or play a game of horse shoes. Our home is a 3 Bedroom 3 bath home with an open floor concept, with a large back patio equipped with seating and a BBQ. When you walk through the front door you will come into the kitchen which is any cooks dream, with a large island to prep and cook your meals. We have island seating or a dining room table to gather around and enjoy those home cooked meals away from home. Large living room that looks out to Columbia and Tekettle mountains, the perfect spot to relax after a long day of hiking. The master bedroom is furnished with a king size adjustable bed, with a 40'' mounted Tv to relax and enjoy a movie before bed, the on-suite bathroom has a large soaker tub and a separate walk in shower and private toilet room. A double vanity with extra counter space for you to get ready easily for your day of adventure. Bedroom 2 also has a kingsized bed with mounted 43'' Tv and extra space and large closet, and a play area with some toys for the little ones. It has a pocket door that connects to bathroom 2 with tub and shower. Bedroom 3 is down the hall with Queen size bed also has a bathroom with tub and shower, which allows multiple guest to use and get ready for the day without waiting for bathroom time. brWe do have a laundry room with coat hooks and space to put shoes and extra gear and it is equipped with washer and dryer for you to use to do any laundry you choose. We also provide Wifi, Netflix, Dish Network, an Alexa to play music of your liking we also offer a variety of kids movies.brbrWe do have quiet hours from 11pm to 6am. We understand you may arrive late after a long day but please be respectful of the quiet hours and keep volumes low, as noise travels across the fields. We prefer no smoking on the premises, however if you need to smoke please do it outside and please be sure to make it look like you didn't. Please pick your butts up and do not dispose in any indoor garbage cans. brbrWe do have chickens and two outdoor cats. We need to care for our animals so we will be in and out on a daily basis to provide care and gather eggs. However there is a different access road that we will take and we will be quiet and respectful to not bother you on your stay. Our outdoor cats are SUPER friendly they really want to be indoor cats but do to extreme allergies we ask you do not let them into the home, and try and be careful not to leave doors open as they will come in. The chickens LOVE treats, as in veggie scraps, bread, chips, please NO MEAT, feel free to go feed them any of your meal scraps, they would love it.brbrPlease be sure to purchase trip insurance as we do not give discounts or refunds do to nature related situations.

We began amassing 5 star reviews and a full calendar. Soon, we decided to build a second building on the 2 acre lot so that we could share our home with more guests. With the help of family and friends and over the course of five years we completed our dream – Glacier Countryside Retreat. The two-story guest house sits in the back half of a Barn/Garage. There are lean-tos on the side, giving it the quaint barn-look. The guest house has a large deck off of the back, access to a back yard, and covered parking in one of the lean-to’s. brSoon after completing this guest house, we were surprised with the arrival of our first child. Having already rented out our home for the summer, we moved into Glacier Countryside Retreat and lived there for the next two and a half years. It was such a blessing to have had this home during our time of transition to parenthood. Now, we are back in our main home during the school year and back to camping and living with family in the summer. So, we are excited to finally get to share Glacier Countryside Retreat with you, our guests.brbrSince we have personally lived in this home for a time, I would like to share with you what I think are the Pros and Cons of Glacier Countryside Retreat so you can be sure it is the best choice for your vacation to the Glacier Park Area. brPros: br• Excellent Location – in the country yet close to all of the major towns in the area as well as Glacier National Parkbr• Great views – especially from the upstairs bedrooms.br• It is charming and cute, with tongue and groove ceilings and post and beam construction.br• It is bright and spacious with a great kitchen and big bedroomsbrCons:br• Because of the post and beam style construction, the ceiling downstairs is the floor of the upstairs. There is carpet in the bedrooms, but otherwise there is not as much of a sound buffer between floors as there is in traditional construction. Since we had a napping baby while we lived here, we learned that you had to be quiet downstairs while the baby was sleeping upstairs.br• The road next to the house on the East side services a small subdivision, but also is access to a construction/gravel pit. Sometimes during the summer, there can be a lot of trucks driving by along that road. We found it to be a bit noisy when we wanted to sleep in, so we kept ear plugs handy.
