The area's risk of wildfire is too high.The gas firepit out front is available when there is no fire ban. If there is a fire ban, the firepit will be removed. You will be asked to leave immediately if there is any fire activity.brbrPetsbrWe will allow pets who qualify. At this time we only host dogs. Please message us before booking for our pet policy to see if your dogs qualify. There is an additional fee for bringing a pet to cover the cleaners’ extra time to keep the space fresh for future guests. Please note the only way to the loft is the spiral staircase which is not safe for pets. When we have our pup there he sleeps in the lower level.brbrThe roads require AWD or 4WD for November through April (however it can snow in October and in May!). The roads are plowed after 6 inches of snow. You do not need a 4WD or AWD in the summer but be aware that the dirt roads in the neighborhood bumpy!brbrThere is no air conditioning unit here. It is very rare in our county to have one installed in a house (even brand-new builds!). The nights are cool in the summer so to cool the house off you can open all the windows and doors, then close them during the day and you stay nice and cool! There are fans provided to help blow the cool air through the cabin.brbrWe are at 9,200 feet in elevation — altitude sickness can occur, but you can do things to prevent it and alleviate symptoms, including: Taking a day to rest when you arrive. Drink extra water and stay well hydrated (avoiding alcohol will help). (The tap water is from natural spring water and is delicious and safe to drink.) Wear sunscreen, even when it is cool or cloudy.brbrThe spiral staircase is narrow and it can be challenging to cart large luggage up and down. We often keep our luggage on the main level. If you have children, please be extra careful around the staircase (it’s tempting to use it as a play gym, but can be very dangerous).brbrThis house is in a neighborhood. While it feels secluded from the front porch, our back-door neighbors are visible from the side and back of the house.

Free STARLINK Wifi and free calls to anywhere in the U.S. also included. If you get tired of staying at the cabin there are many things to do. Hasn't happened to us yet. We come to get away and to reconnect. brbrThings to Do: National Forest access is just a couple miles down the road for Hiking, 4 Wheeling, ATV's, etc. Easy access to Florissant, Divide, Woodland Park, and Cripple Creek. brbrCentrally located to all the activities in and close to Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods, and the Cliff Dwellings, but don't forget about the Canon City area, where some of the best white water rafting happens. The train ride through the Royal Gorge is highly recommended. You can also head over Hoiser pass and visit the Ski areas like Breckinridge - about 80 miles away. Take the kids to the North Pole and Pikes Peak only 25 minutes away. brbrCripple Creek: This cabin is approximately 30 minutes from our mining and casino town - Cripple Creek. Something for everyone to do up there. It is home to one of the largest active gold mines. Take a mining tour, a train ride, visit wonderful restaurants, entertainment etc. brbrPlenty of fun games and movies for the kids.brbrNOTE: Due to the observance of the sabbath we do not allow check-ins or check outs on Saturdays.
