We are located in the heart of Gilpin County at 9,000 ft in elevation, close to beautiful hikes, restaurants, casinos, breweries, and so much more!brbrThe spacebrOur private mountain getaway is super cozy and very spacious for small groups. The space has two queen beds and two full baths suitable for families, couples, travelers, and friends. Guests have the entire house and property to themselves.brbrLiving area - The living space is full of natural light and is freshly refurnished. There is plenty of comfortable seating for you and your family to enjoy. The two large windows overlook the front porch and the beautiful mountain views of Golden Gate State Park across the street. We have wifi, a bluetooth speaker, and a smart TV with Netflix, Disney +, Prime, and HBO included. Being up in the mountains cell service can be a bit spotty. We do have a Verizon cell booster and both T-Mobile and At&t have spotty reception. Wifi calling works great!brbrBedrooms - The two bedrooms with queen beds are suitable for a traveler on the go or an extended stay. Each room offers comfortable bedding, a white noise machine, a steamer, plenty of hangers, large closet, a makeup mirror, and dresser for you to stay organized while being away from home.brbrKitchen and Dining - Our large kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and entertaining. We have a dining space off of the living room and a few bar stools in the kitchen that makes the perfect breakfast spot.brbrBathrooms - there are two full bathrooms stocked with high quality shampoo, conditioner, and plenty of comfy towels.brbrWe have a beautiful 3 season sunroom off of the master bedroom with big windows that overlook the back deck and our zen water fountain that runs until late fall. The sunroom is perfect for your morning coffee or afternoon tea. On a nice day, which it usually is, you can open the windows and embrace the fresh mountain air while listening to the fountain outside. The back deck offers lots of seating, a grill for cook outs, and two hammocks for you and your friends to enjoy. Our entire back yard is completely fenced in and private. We also have a horse shoe pit located in the front yard!brbrOne of our favorite parts of our space is the hot tub! Its super private and will be ready for you to enjoy when you arrive. The tub is not the newest feature on the property but it's clean, comfortable, and a great way to relax after a long day of enjoying the area! We will have a few robes located in the laundry room along with hot tub towels. Our guest are also more than welcome to use the washer and dryer during your stay.brbrOur gravel driveway may be considered steep by some but it does not require a 4x4 vehicle and there are plenty of parking spaces available.brbrAs secluded as we are, we are within walking distance to Taggert's convenience & gas located across the street, but not in view from the property. If you're feeling a little adventurous the Underground Liquor Store is also a short quarter mile walk.brbrWinter at 9,000 ft can start as early as September but doesn't fully set in until November. In the winter months you can expect a snow packed, plowed driveway, two sets of snow shoes, and a hot tub ready for you to enjoy.brbrGuest accessbrOur gravel driveway may be considered steep by some but it does not require a 4x4 vehicle and there are plenty of parking spaces available.brOther things to notebrOur home is located at 9,000 ft in elevation and is usually about 10-15 degrees cooler than the Denver area. The snowy season can start as early as September but usually doesn't go into full swing until Novemberbr& December. That being said, Colorado has 300 days of blue skies and sun shine, so any time of the year is beautiful up here in the mountains! brWe're happy to host extended stays! This is a remote property, across the road from Arapahoe National Forest, 5 miles to Golden Gate Canyon State Park and the historic towns of Black Hawk and Central City where you can explore, discover history, check out the casinos and be within 1 hour of world-class ski resorts. Plenty of interest for birders and many areas for hiking and mountain and/or road biking. You will enjoy a quiet and beautiful area surrounded by an aspen meadow, next to a small pond where you may (ya never know!) see moose, deer, coyotes, bear and other wildlife. Enjoy the night sky and do some star gazing. The nearest ski area, Eldora, is approximately 25 minutes away. Loveland Ski Area and Winter Park are about1 hour away. This apartment is quiet, spacious and very well stocked. The environmentally conscious owner lives upstairs. All soaps are cruelty-free and in refillable containers, recycled toilet paper and paper towels, cloth napkins, LED lighting, repurposed kitchen countertops are made from the floors of train cars. Recycling container provided and recycling is encouraged. Children and dogs are always welcome and toys and books are provided for young children. There is a $30 pet fee per dog with a maximum of two dogs, I will provide pet necessities, such as bowls and blankets. You will find organic pet treats on arrival. Pet and child care are available for additional cost if arrangements are made in advance and I am available. Pet waste MUST be picked up. Compostable poop bags and a special trash can for such are provided. Enjoy the gas firepit with family and friends. Please come and visit - no one has been disappointed! Plus a main level private bedroom w/ motorized black out shades. br- Property is located about 1 hour from Denver and it is very easy to get to - no I-70 traffic regardless of when you arrive or leave which is a big deal! brbr4-wheelers can be rented and delivered to the cabin if desired. Information is also at the cabin for local dining, casinos, fishing, grocery stores, hiking, jeep trails, etc. You can 4-wheel/ATV right off the property and into endless amounts of trails leading all the way to the Continental Divide, Winter Park, St. Mary's Glacier, and everywhere in between. There are endless amount of trails for exploring just up the road from the cabin. Golden Gate National Park is also only 15 minutes away. I can't overstate how awesome the 4.5-mile hiking trail is off the back of the Cabin...plan to be gone for a few hours!brbrTreasure! There are (2) VERY elaborate treasure hunts for you to enjoy. One inside, and one outside (the outside one can only be done when there isn't snow on the ground...can you find the buried treasure chest on the property ) I encourage all ages to do them. They aren't easy...and kids will need help from their parents to figure out some of the clues, but it's a TON of fun. And if you figure it out...there will be treasure waiting for you at the end... ;-) brbrMetal Detecting on property! There are tons of coins throughout the property, and even REAL SILVER coins that if you find you're allowed to keep (1). (2) metal detectors are provided so you can find real treasure, and help us dig up tons of old mining history here too! To date, my guests have found over 150 pieces of old Iron from the 1800's when this property was used to process gold ore! brbrRoads are plowed and maintained by the City of Black Hawk all the way to the cabin. Accessible year round. In the winter, we recommend FWD or weather dependent AWD. Complimentary Chocolate and Coffee are provided. All linens, Firewood, and Wood Stove Pellets are also provided.
