The fall is a great time to visit for apple picking and tasting.brbrDay excursions to Hearst Castle or Big Sur are very doable, and will expose you to some of California's most stunning cliffs and secret beaches. Morro Bay, Cambria and San Simeon (where the elephant seals live) are all fun to explore.brbrIt's just south of San Luis Obispo (SLO was voted one of the top 5 happiest cities) and nearby dozens of vineyards.
