We are just 5 minutes (5 miles) to the Ash Mountain entrance of Sequoia National Park.brbrOur cute and cozy cabin has a well-equipped kitchen and a propane BBQ off the back deck. The cabin is ideal for a couple. The rear deck is just steps away from the Main Fork of the Kaweah River.brbrWe are conveniently located on Sierra Drive, the main road through town, with the main fork of the Kaweah River just steps from the back deck. The private river setting allows for a true romantic getaway. There is a fire pit by the river to enjoy an evening fire and we do supply firewood. brbrRelax in the Sundance Spa / hot tub / jacuzzi on the back deck, listen to the sounds of the river and marvel at the Blue Heron and various duck species that call the river home. You just might see some deer at the river's edge.brbrIn the evening, relax in the lounge chairs by the river and be mesmerized by the spectacular star-studded night sky.brbrIn springtime, you can sit on the deck and catch a glimpse of the whitewater rafters and kayakers as they make their way down the river.brbrWe offer plush towels, quality linens and we also provide bath amenities for our guests. brDirecTV and high-speed Spectrum WiFi are available as well. brbrThis historic cabin was originally built as a fishing retreat decades ago and has evolved a number of times since then. In the '70s it was Little Rainbow, the workshop of our local silversmith. After that it became a private residence, and later a trendy coffee house named The Cabin. The Cabin later became The Buckaroo, serving hamburgers and sandwiches.brbrbrIMPORTANT ITEMS TO KNOW:brbrTRAVEL INSURANCEbrIt is essential for our guests to have travel insurance. brWe are in a high Fire Severity Zone. Fire season is typically August-October.brIn the event that a travel disruption occurs, we ask that you are covered as we don't issue refunds or extend stays due to usually being fully booked — and recommend you contact your insurer to assist with the cost of disrupted travel arrangements.brbrbrAs shown in the pictures, we are located on the main road through town and you will hear some road noise at times.brbrbrThe river behind our cabin is not deep enough for swimming. When it is deep enough for swimming, it is flowing too swiftly to safely go in but makes for excellent river rafting. The water level does get low at the very end of summer / beginning of fall, until we get some rain. You can walk downriver to where the north fork of the Kaweah River joins the main fork to a swimming hole.brbrbrPLEASE NOTE: NO VISITING GUESTS. Only the 2 guests who have reserved the cabin are permitted to stay per our insurance carrier, because they only cover the guests in the reservation. brbrbrNO SMOKING INSIDE THE CABIN. We are located in an extremely high-fire hazard area. brbrbrPLEASE NOTE: NO ANIMALS of any kind are allowed at this property. Members of our family have asthma and are extremely allergic to pet hair/dander. This poses a severe health hazard to hosts' family members and therefore there are no exceptions to this rule. You will be assessed a $250 deep cleaning fee if you bring your pet(s).

It is the perfect spot for a family to get into nature and recharge.The kitchen has full size appliances, white cabinets, quartz countertop and a walnut bar table with four bar stools. It is a beautiful place to cook your meals and enjoy the mountain view. It has a fridge and freezer, 4 burner electric stove with oven, coffee maker, blender and all needed cooking and baking utensils. The bathroom a beautiful simple modern space. It has wooden floor, a white cabin and plenty of towels and amenities. There is a TV and DVD player with cable and board games.brOutside space is so serene and peaceful. brThe whole backyard is surrounded my mountains views. You can hear the river from the cabin. There is a fire pit, ample sitting area with outside dinning table and a bbq. It is the perfect spot to unwind from your day at the park. brbrRIVER::brTHE RIVER AND THE 2 DECKS::brYou will find a beautiful trail that lead you to our picturesque river with endless boulders!! There you will find two large decks over the river and sitting areas along the river. This area is absolutely breathtaking! The Southfork River is beautiful all year round. Like all natural rivers the Rivers has high seasons and low. In the spring and early summer it is high and fast moving. As summer wanes the river slows and lower but never completely dies up. We are fortunate to have water year round so you will always enjoy the soothing sounds of the river. Children must be chaperone at all time especially near the river. Please be cautious of current, especially during winter and early spring. (The 2 decks are located at the river area. There are no homes on the other side of the river so it feels very private and secluded. brbrTHE HOME::brThe house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The large master bedroom has 2 queen beds. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, and the 3rd bedroom has a custom built twin XL size bunk bed ( the twin beds are XL size at 80 inches long). There is also an extra futon couch. The kitchen has all stainless steel appliances. The dining table offers six chairs, but in case that's not enough there are four bar stools at the kitchen counter. The kitchen is stocked with everything you will need to cook a gourmet meal. The living room is very large with beautiful contemporary couches and accent chairs. While sitting in the living room looking out at the Kaweah River, you can enjoy a 60 4K LED TV. The home has WIFI, DVD player and Satelite Spectrum cable. The master bedroom also has it's own TV, but better than the anything on TV is to gaze out at the stunning River views from the large master bedroom window. Oh, did I mention the deck overlooking the river has a stainless steel BBQ. The property has amazing custom rock work and trails leading to the river, offering areas for fishing or picnicking. The home has central AC/ Heat. Leave the house and go into the garage to find your game room. Service will occasionally be on and off due to mountain location, altitude, and weather.brbr***Property is located in the foothills, thus it is located in a wildlife area. Especially between March and November, there is a possibility of seeing Bears and other wildlife. It is extremely important to not leave any food or trash outside or in vehicles, that vehicles are locked at all times, and that windows lower than 10 feet from the ground are not left open at night or when leaving the property.brbr***Property is located in the foothills, which is home to various species of snakes, scorpions, and many other types of bugs and reptiles. Please be cognizant of your surroundings and do not leave children unattended.brbr***Please be advised we do have two external cameras located on the front porch and on the side of the house facing the parking area. We do our best to keep debris and critters out of the pool but with trees and location it does occur from time to time. The pool floor does have some staining, however it is cleaned and serviced regularly. We will be resurfacing the pool at the end of the 2024 season. brbr***Due to our mountain location near the river our water contains minerals which can impact the taste and smell. The water is safe to drink and is professionally treated. If you are sensitive to taste we recommend that you bring bottled water for your stay.
