The queen murphy bed disappears during the day to give a spacious office/living area. Blackout blinds make sleeping easy and the location is very quiet.The three-piece bathroom has a step in shower. The large, private deck looks out over the garden and is a lovely place to enjoy morning coffee or an afternoon drink and a good book. The location is spectacular for neighbourhood walking to Gonzales Beach ( 400 metres/7 minute walk) and other locations, or taking a bus to downtown or Uvic and Camosun College ( two minute walk to bus stop and about 23 minutes to Uvic, Jubilee Hospital is about 10 minte on bus plus a 8 minute walk).Minimum booking is 89 days and includes access to a weekly laundry day and a once a month clean. Cleaning is expected by tenant in between and supplies are provided. As stated above, our place is NOT NEW, but she is gorgeous and a great place to create great memories with family and friends. brbrWe keep our place tidy, comfy, casually well-appointed and everything is in working order. We have furnished it with all the modern conveniences you need, but there is no way to make a Spanish-Mediterranean circa 1945ish classic beach home into a brand new home without tearing her down and losing her original charm. And although we are continually upgrading her, and her systems, we have started first with bringing her electricity and water systems to code, and over time, we will address her other antiquated systems. brbrIf you want to stay right on the beach, there will be daily on and off shore winds which constantly change the humidity and pick up sand and dust every day and move it around. If it is in the winter, you will be mesmerized with storm watching, whereas, in the summer, the bay is tranquil, making it great for stand-up boarding, kayaking, sailing, and swimming at low-tide when the sun and warm the shallower waters.brbrOur place is not the newest on the beach, but we also are aware that she is a rare and unique gem that truly captures the magic and vistas of Cordova Bay. brbrIf you love peace, serenity, and character homes, we would love to share the magic of our location and one-of-kind Spanish gem with you, and help you create the very best of memories. brbrREAD BEFORE BOOKING if you are BOOKING during the RAINY SEASON (September-May)brbrThere is a random iterant small leak which many trades people have come and tried to fix over the past four winters. However, there is a water bucket under the sink and please put out if the drip decides to bless you with its presence! :) As mentioned, it only happens once in a blue moon, and we have been told that probably the only way to truly solve it is to remove the sunroom altogether. This is on our to-do list in upgrades, but replacement will not happen for a few years until we have officially retired, we will have time to invest in this issue. In the meantime, you are welcome to book our property knowing this.
