The Aspens is the waterfront property of Whistler, RIGHT ON THE RUN, and this unit is one of only a handful with views of gondolas headed up the mountain, and skiers and boarders descending Whistler Blackcomb. End the perfect day in one of the nicest pools in Whistler, one of three hot tubs, or with a drink at the famous Mallard Lounge at the Fairmont, all just steps away.brbrI'll always be just a phone call or text away, and there is a front desk to assist you!brbrThe Upper Village (aka Blackcomb Village) is actually even closer to the chairlift and main part of the Main Whistler village, as compared to other properties on Airbnb in the marketplace area in the North Village. A short walk across the lovely river bridge takes you right to the Longhorn Saloon, Pan Pacific and Whistler Gondola - see map in the listing photos. The Upper Village has the additional advantage of having hot spots like Merlin's (the original home of après in Whistler), the Mallard Lounge, Wildflower, and Portobello inside the Chateau Fairmont Whistler, RMU, etc …right beside you. The only liquor store in the entire village open past 10pm is also located a 2 minute walk from the Aspens in the Upper Village :)brbrGuests will easily self-check in using a smart lock. Although we have a concierge at the front desk to assist you with finding out what's going on in Whistler, you won't have to wait for a key card and will be able to walk right to the room and enter using a personalized code that I will give you. There is also no need to drop off any key cards or do anything other than grab your gear for check out.brbrThe white furred Spirt Bear is a very rare variety of black bear, found only in the north and central temperate forests of British Columbia, including those that surround Whistler! It is believed there are no more than 400 of these bears left in the wild. The perfect vacation rental is also a rare find, and we hope you've found it right here. We recently purchased and have refreshed this very special condo with fun bear decor theme, with items chosen by my sister and two nephews (who we affectionately call B Bear and C Bear for short :)brbrThe Aspens, is a resort-like complex, and is a perfect location for summer or winter. It was the original Fairmont Chateau Whistler, and as such, is a very comfortable blend of detail oriented private accommodation with the amenities (and location) of a major hotel. The Aspens is located right at the base of the mountain, so you can easily hop right on the chairlift/gondola, and ski right back to your place at the end of the day. There are few properties like this anywhere!brbrThis unit has a bright and welcoming feeling with tranquil king bed in the bedroom, and a queen-sized sofa bed for an additional two persons in the living room. It is on the quiet side of the resort (opposite any commotion in the pools and hot tub), with views of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, especially Lower Merlins, the run that passes right below our balcony. During the ski season, you'll see skiers and snowboarders passing by as we are truly ski in, ski out. You could do a ski jump off Lower Merlin's run right into our largest hot tub. brbrYou can't beat the location for a couples or friends getaway, or for a young family ...as you only need to bundle up the cubs, put the skis on, and walk right out onto the hill. No long walks, no shuttles. You can see the Magic Chair (kids practice run area) right from the resort, as with the Blackcomb Gondola. brbrThe Upper Village (aka Blackcomb Village) is actually even closer to the chairlift and main part of the main Whistler village, as compared to other properties on Airbnb in the marketplace area in the North Village. And in a very easy to use fold out convertible style sofabed (you don’t have to take the pillows off the bed).brbr-(1) A 30 full cot-sized extra long bed in the window or daybed for one, which must be one of the coolest bed perches in Whistler, and where I often prefer to sleep. Your kids will especially love this.brbr** Because I get charged extra for sheets cleaning, please kindly choose 5 persons for your stay and pay the small additional cleaning fee if you plan on using the day bed for sleeping, even if you have fewer guests (ie if each of your kids would like their own bed vs sharing the sofa bed). Thanks!brbrbrEXTRA TOUCHES - These thoughtful touches will make your stay:brbr-Stainless steel Keurig coffee maker to start your day off rightbrbr-All pillows and mattresses have a high quality protector/encasement underneath the sheet set. The main beds have both an encasement and a top protector, in addition to the sheets.brbr-Wireless phone chargers on each side of the master bed - no looking around for the outlet, just lay your phone down on the pad before you sleep. Another 6 port wireless charging station in the living room for all other guests and devices. brbr-4K cable and TV - Netflix is included or watch the news or big hockey game (many Airbnb's do not have regular cable)brbr-Air conditioning in both the bedroom (built in unit) and living room (portable unit) so you will not be too hot in the summer, unlike many units in Whistler that either don’t have AC at all or just in the bedroom. brbrbrAs a recent guest said, our place is BEARY highly recommended. Watch out for the friendly spirit bears, and I can't wait to host your Whistler getaway soon! brbr(PS, I shouldn't have to say this, but there are real bears around Whistler depending on the season - please don't approach them or try to pet them :)brbrBOATING: Spending any time in Vancouver During the summer months or with enough notice (or sometimes last minute), I offer my guests a discount on my top-rated yacht tour experience aboard the Bluebelle (a Searay 320), if you'd like to see the city by water, or spend a day dining on one of Vancouver's nearby islands. I am a fully licensed and Transport Canada certified charter captain. This is an extra service, billed through Airbnb's online payment system. brbrYou can get up to Whistler from Vancouver or YVR Airport with several different companies. brbrOnce here, get around easily on the free shuttle, or taxi, Uber & Whistle (a local ride sharing app) are also available!brbrParking at the Aspens is $26 (CAD) a day. While I would love to offer guests free parking, this is a complex rule. But fortunately, it is half the cost of the new Fairmont Whistler, Four Seasons, and most hotels in Whistler.brbrParking height is 6’6” max please be aware before buying a ticket. brbrAs this complex was built as a hotel, there is no in-suite laundry, however there is a shared laundry room for your use, if you need it during your stay!

The ability access the ski slopes in less than 2 minutes makes this location an absolute pleasure. Whistler Village is famous for year round fun and entertainment. This condo is located right on the famous Village Stroll and is centrally located. The actual bay window of the condo makes it into just about every postcard or promo shot of Whistler out there. Starbucks and local coffee shops, banks, bars, stores, and the Olympic Plaza where the famous rings are (and where concerts are held), are all just seconds from the door. Whistler's main medical centre is also steps away, just in case!brbrThe suite is at Eagle Lodge in the Town Plaza. Town Plaza is a collection of 3 lodge buildings (Eagle, Deer and Bear), there is a hotel lobby style front desk (this was formerly a Sheraton hotel), which will check you in and provide a key card, and access to parking. Your key card is all you need to access the parkade, hot tub and fitness centre/gym, as well as the ski/equipment locker and bike storage room.brbrThe Bluebird is more than the realization of a fun theme, it is truly one of the most welcoming spaces in all of Whistler. This is a one-bedroom sized, mini ski chalet, with all the comforts.brbrOur actual suite appears in many of the most recognizable shots of Whistler Village (see stars in the building photos).brbrHaving performed at and stayed at most of the luxury hotels in town, I wanted to incorporate the best of those high-end spaces, and go way beyond. The Bluebird was a collaboration with designer to the celebrities Sam Shakura. brbrPLEASE NOTE:brbrOur hot tub is under renovation and will be a beautiful brand new amenity opening sometime in Dec 2025 (for ski season). Until it opens, I am giving my guests access to another pool and hot tub nearby! It's a 10 minute walk or a 2 minute drive and of course off the property, but it is a gorgeous resort pool that I am able to give access to my guests only, during the hot tub renovation. brbrHIGHLIGHTS include:brbr-One of the best locations in Whistler right in the heart of the village, walking/stumbling distance to restaurants, bars, shops and all the action. br-The extra-wide bay window seat & daybed where you can read, work on a laptop, or just enjoy the view of the village stroll below, the famous Olympic rings, and the bridge over the pond. Big enough for two adults or a whole bunch of kids!br-The balcony which I've set up for people watching both day and night with a bar top for meals and drinks.br-A beautiful kitchen with a mountain peaked backslash surrounding a huge counter bar to mingle around.br-A mini ski chalet-style living room with beautiful ski photography, and vintage skis and poles decor. A Samsung Frame TV that allows you to watch anything from hockey & sports live, to your favourite Netflix show in 4K.br-An incredibly charming blue shiplap-walled bedroom, and another wall-mounted TV, so you can watch your favourite show comfortably in bed.br-FREE parking in an over height garage, so your roof rack or bike rack will fit easily. br-Air conditioning in both the bedroom (built in unit) and living room (portable unit) so you will not be too hot in the summer, unlike many units in Whistler that either don’t have AC at all, or just in the bedroom.brbrbrSLEEPINGbrbrThough a 1 bedroom condo, this unit can sleep six (6) people. We do recommend 4 -5 adults, but can accommodate up to 6, or two families with young children. The bed layout is shown in the photos:brbr-(2) Brand new DreamLife California king bed in the Master Bedroom for 2 people.brbr-(2) Queen-sized (not a double) memory foam mattress in the sofa bed for two people. And in a very easy to use fold out convertible style sofabed (you don’t have to take the pillows off the bed).brbr-(1) A 30 full cot-sized extra long bed in the window or daybed, which must be one of the coolest bed perches in Whistler, and where I often prefer to sleep. Your kids will especially love this.brbr-(1) A chair that doubles as another cot. While I would recommend this more for a child or young adult, the photo has my full 6'2' body nestled in quite comfortably and will more than do in a pinch. If you are over about 5'8 your feet will hang over, so again this would be recommended for a shorter person or child, but in a pinch even I've made it work. brbrbrEXTRA TOUCHES - these thoughtful touches will make your stay:brbr-Stainless steel Keurig coffee maker to start your day off rightbr-Brand new counter depth fridge (this is important because most places have noisy fridges that make it hard to sleep in the living room, we've thought of that!)br-All pillows and mattresses have a high quality protector/encasement underneath the sheet set. The main beds have both an encasement and a top protector, in addition to the sheets.br-Wireless phone chargers on each side of the master bed - no looking around for the outlet, just lay your phone down on the pad before you sleep. Another 6 port wireless charging station in the living room for all other guests and devices. br-4K cable and TV - Netflix is included or watch the news or big hockey game (many Airbnb's do not have regular cable)br-Blackout blinds in both the bedroom and living room so you can actually sleep in, in peace! br-I have made the hall closet an area for guests staying in the living room to hang clothes and store bags (most owners keep this whole closet locked for supplies).brbrbr2010 MEMORIES: You can now really get into the spirit of the place and watch any or all of the events from the 2010 Olympic games, pre-loaded on our living room frame TV!! The gold medal hockey game, the skiing events at Whistler’s Creekside, the bobsled from the Whistler Sliding Centre, whatever you like! This is an extra service, billed through Airbnb's online payment system. brbrOne parking spot is included with your stay if you are driving from Vancouver's Lower Mainland, YVR, or across the US Border. That is no small matter as parking is very expensive in Whistler and normally not included with most hotels. There are also inexpensive shuttle buses available from downtown Vancouver and YVR. Once here, you are all set with a prime spot in the Village. There are taxis, Uber, and local shuttle buses. For skiing, even though you can't get much closer walking through the village, there is a shuttle right outside the door to take you one quick stop to either Whistler or Blackcomb gondolas.brbrThis suite is right on the Village Stroll in Whistler. Its a great location in the heart of the action, yet away from the night clubs and louder spots. However, as it is right on the stroll, there is foot traffic and action. We consider this a plus (and is why I bought it!), but if you are looking for absolute peace and quite at all times of the day, I'm totally happy to help you find a place in another part of Whistler, outside of the village.
