Located in Wintergreen Resort, it is convenient to all the amenities on the mountain, yet uniquely private. The home's backyard is the George Washington National Forest (1/3 mile away from the Appalachian Trail, which is best accessed directly from the house November - May because of the underlying foliage.) The rest of the year, a trailhead .5 miles down the road is the best access. The house is also situated across from the Shamokin Falls Trail on one of the most private double lots in Wintergreen. brbrOur home includes 2 master bedrooms, both with king beds and en suite bathrooms, 2 large living rooms, both with gas-fired stone fireplaces, a large well-stocked custom kitchen and a separate kitchenette on lower level making it the ideal vacation property for large family gatherings.brbrOur home is set up to sleep 14 in beds and 2 more in a brand new leather sectional king size pull-out sofa.brbrThe main level features a spacious living room with brand new furniture and beautiful dry bar, soaring pine clad cathedral ceiling, a gorgeous stone gas fireplace, amazing 180° views of the forest, smart HDTV, Blu-ray DVD player. The bright kitchen has granite countertops, custom cabinetry, two sinks, all new appliances, large farmhouse table, and large island with bar sink and comfortable stools for additional seating. brbrFrom the kitchen you can access the large deck, which is equipped with a large gas grill and patio furniture, including a dining table for eight, high-top table seating four, and six comfortable Adirondack chairs. The wrap-around deck is a wonderful vantage point from which to enjoy the sunrise or sunset, or to watch the wildlife visitors. Also, a new third deck provides comfortable and private seating and a huge wood-burning fireplace.brbrThe first floor also offers a powder room and a mud room with its own access door to the deck - perfect for coming in after a day of skiing! This level also has 2 bedrooms; one with two twin beds, and the other has a queen-sized bed. These rooms share a separate full bath with shower.brbrThe 2 master bedrooms are located on the upper level; both feature king sized beds. One master bedroom looks out over the valley, has an en suite bathroom with 2 sinks, a claw foot tub and separate shower. The second master looks out to the George Washington National Forest and has an en suite bathroom with double sinks and shower. Between the two bedrooms is a reading nook, which looks out over the open plan living area of the main level. brbrThe lower level has a large sitting room with gas stone fireplace, brand new furniture (including pullout king bed sectional) HDTV, and has direct access out to the lower deck. This deck has a porch swing, bar-top table with chairs, Adirondack chairs, corn hole set, and a ping pong table (paddles and balls supplied). Sitting area also includes kitchenette area equipped with fridge freezer, microwave, and sink. There are two bedrooms on this level with connecting french doors, making it ideal for families with young children. One has a queen-sized bed and the other has one set of bunk beds, and a single bed with a trundle bed underneath. These bedrooms share a separate bathroom with double sink, bath and separate shower. There is also a large laundry room/mud room on this level with washer and dryer and some exercise equipment. This is the main access room for the property as it leads directly out to the driveway, which has parking for four cars. Currently, the garage and apartment above the garage are not part of this rental and will not be occupied. Welcome to Chasing Altitudes, a designer-decorated Wintergreen home with fantastic year-round views. The multiple decks feature a hot tub, gas firepit, and dining for 10. Inside, you'll love the fully remodeled interior with double sided fireplace, game room downstairs, and 5 bedrooms / 4.5 baths. Literally next door is a small park with viewing platform and hiking trail. Plus, pet friendly! We are just a few minutes’ drive to the slopes and all the dining and entertainment at Wintergreen. The Old Appalachian Trail hiking trail is just a few doors down from the house. If you’re willing to venture a bit further, some of the best hiking trails in the state are off the Blue Ridge Parkway (15 minutes from the house), and there are over dozen wineries, breweries, and distilleries within a 30 minute drive. During the summer, enjoy Sherando Lake and Lake Monocan with sandy beach entrances, or take a dip in the heated community pool.brbrThe home layout is as follows:brbrMain level:br- Deck with great views, comfy seating around the gas firepit, dining for 10, and propane grillbr- Living room with wood burning fireplace (firewood provided)br- Dining area with ample space for 10 at the main table, plus another 4 at the adjoining barbr- Fully stocked kitchen with stainless with everything you need to prepare large mealsbr- BR 1: Master bedroom with king bed, private balcony, and ensuite bathroom with double vanities and tiled showerbr- Half bathbrbrUpper level:brbr- BR 2: Master bedroom with king bed and mountain views. There is an overflow parking lot at Wintergreen if needed.br- Wifi is fast with a strong signal throughout the house and decks.br- We provide a fully stocked coffee bar with multiple coffee drip and Keurig optionsbr- Linens and towels providedbr- Guests can enjoy free community pool access in the summer season (though the HOA rules stipulate no more than 6 guests at a time, and the permitted hours are 2-6pm).br- Pack n play, high chair, and kid dishes providedbr- We do require a separate rental agreement, which we will send a link to e-sign after you book.
